Neil Cicirega never had a bigger following than now, and it was one of his biggest early works. Also dates on NewGorunds don't go before a certain point, they re-worked portal and it all kinda bundled to a single year.
Newgrounds page says "uploaded Dec 22, 2005". Madness combat, for example, is also correctly shown to be 2002
