They finally turned the Drift Tampa into what it was meant to be from day one!
But it's a shame that standard Futo not included into this drift cars list, only GTX (hatchback) variant 😕.

you should mention that it actually converts these cars to AWD, and what's even cooler is that the AWD system only kicks in at certain wheel speeds!

I think it applies at a certain RPM, cause you can launch these cars and see the front tire marks, although they're very faded. It's like they added AWD but gave the front wheels an off brand low grip tire 😅
It's basically like Ken Blocks Hoonicorn
The drift Yosemite was already Allwheel drive with lower speed the front wheels spun slower and low speeds and fully kicked in at faster speeds
It should be mentioned:
These cars are converted to AWD, but its almost like all 4 wheels are on low grips.
The throttle response is much more correct now. Sometimes the car would stall out/change gears out of the torque range when trying to slide, unless you were constantly brake boosting. Now it feels more realistic as hitting the throttle will almost always transfer power to the wheels correctly.
Each car handles differently and i think its awesome that way you can find a car that really fits your drift style.
Any car with available stance in the interaction menu will lose that stance and the abilty to be stanced.
Lastly, and it might be placebo effect, but it feels like the cars handle differently depending if they were fully upgraded before the tuning vs not. Tested this with the FR36 and it felt like the fully upgraded one handled better. Something to test.
And the drift races are insanely fun, and a little addicting. Highly recommend.

Once you do drift tuning is low grip tires not an option anymore? Cause for the euros I’m not getting the low grip tires option, but I didn’t check if I had it before the drift tune upgrade.
I'm loving this so much, the races are so much fun, hope they add it to more cars.
It's honestly great, it does what i wanted and gives me that NFS underground 2 like drifting.
In my opinion the drift tune seems to require a lot more throttle control than low grip tires.
I guess that's exactly what it needs to.. cuz once you drift a corner.. the car keeps sliding towards one direction

As soon as I saw it, I put that on the Drift Tampa. It’s honestly pretty fun to mess around with now. While testing it, I found out that you can do donuts similar/exactly monster trucks do in Monster Jam.
and if u reverse and turn u do a perfect 180 with the system even stopping u when ur 180

This is what Tuners update upgrade should have been since the beginning
it essentially feels as if the tires are constantly spinning out in the rear, regardless of speed or torque, you gotta really feather the throttle if you want any form of stability when you dont want to drift out.
As someone who was playing nothing but CarX drift racing for the last 2 years out of GTA burnout, coming back to this feels hella refreshing knowing that it's fairly close outside of the fact that you can't manage your gears. But I feel right at home and it feels great to me.
Ever since I upgraded, I've been doing nothing but drifting around all the locations I was trying to before in Los Santos.

I put it on my AE86 Hatch and it's a lot of fun because it's different. It feels like it's AWD with the way the front end can control it so much. If you go past full lock, you can still bring it back, which is crazy. Edit: Just did my first drift races and they're unbelievably fun, even with randoms
the Drift Yosemite turned into a 4wd car, so maybe that happens to all rwd cars.

the drift races are sweet! the contact ones get crazy! but the people who drift are awesome and everyone tries not to ram you it’s a whole different world then regular races!
I really hope sooner or later we are able to install the drift tune on any cars 😅 this is better than low grip tires imo

Makes the vehicles all wheel drive as well, and there seems to be a different control mechanic when in first person, having a blast with these cars

I absolutely love the new drift tuning honestly. I'm hitting some crazy lines that I wouldn't have been able to on low grips. Still not as good as FiveM drifting but its a start.
I installed the drift tuning in my remus and its pretty easy to control compared to the grip tire, as for the drift races they're fun maybe abit too chaotic if you manage to get alot of players since they're gonna constantly bump into each other but regardless they're fun

wow i was expecting way more in depth with this!! i feel the community has been wanting to "drift" for ages! Broughy or no one but just a few are doing the best car for the drift races? i think the drift races is the best thing R* has came out with in years actually its my fav of all time! now i think its more rallly racing then drifting cause puttin drift tune on actually makes all cars awd. now there only like 20% to front tires it feels like but im so thankful R* is trying and actually listening to us!! Please do a best car for the Drift races please!! even if you have to go with other peoples opinions or maybe a pole? i feel you would get tons of views cause i feel theres a lot of people out there looking for this content esp with someone with a platform like yours
I've noticed no matter what car you put it on it makes it AWD. Its really fun to drift in Vinewood now besides traffic

I noticed if you have low grips before purchasing the drift tune it appears to keep the low grips, although you can't actually put low grip tires on the car after applying the tune. I can't tell if there's much of a difference with standard and low grip tires with the tune applied

My thoughts is that its actually so much fun to drive with the drift modification and some off the cars i used handled great.
The drift handling is basically the FiveM physics. Even Broughy said, that's what it feels like to drive, and when you're driving a car with drift tuning in first person, it turns on a "drift camera" that keeps you looking in the direction youre going not the way the front of the car is pointing

You’re right about it being better than the low grips and the whole slick oil mine. So far the annis euros is best for short tighter turns. The Supra, drift tampa, and drift Yosemite might be best for longer drifts but honestly im not sure since I’ve only done a few races.

I havent tryed this new drift physics yet but for the old low grips you really need to try raiden on low grips first then the boor pick up truxk and then the 8f drafter and new futo they all have unique drift physics and there one of the only few cars that actually work on low grips
I just tryed the new drift cars and they work best with out tires at all! But it still works good with just the normal new drift mod too i love it but i poped all the tires on my euros and it got realllyyy slidy but controlable
i used to use a mod menu just so i could change the steering angle, the power bias, and the power output of cars, basically it handles the same as doing that except obviously you cant have however much power you want, neither can you do it with any car, its a shame only these few cars have this feature but oh well this will probably change

I have to agree with you it looks like you're skating on ice or oil and it needs a little bit more tuning down and it would be nice to have our engine upgrades etc for our vehicle.
Does someone know if you can drift on steering wheel and if yes is it good and realistic?
I've only tried the Tofu and it's not great. But its handling was already bad before so...
I hope that will be able to drift with many others, besides tuners.
Ive been drifting in games for over 10 years. Far as i can tell the car is awd at low speeds but it does feel more rwd at mid/high speeds. The moment i figured that out i got better but im still not good yet

The drifting is a little difficult to get used to, I noticed you don't need to counter steer until you REALLY need to counter steer. The angle kits are no joke lol
Exactly. It's easy then by the time you need to correct you have too much momentum. Feels off. Like driving on ice. When I let go of the gas I keep sliding.
This problem shows itself when you do doughnuts...get going real fast and let go of the gas...your car will keep spinning like a top.
There are clearly physics outside of the players control.
I gotta admit though, after getting used to it the drifting is hella fun

I click o on the ps4 controller and sometimes I’ll drift and the angle looks so sick
I peeled out in the drift Tampa and hit a corner and the camera was close to the curb and it shook the entire screen and then you see the car peeling off
I honestly really like it and find it really fun, it's kinda hard but if it were too easy then it wouldn't be as much fun imo.

We're basically beta testing this drift tune for GTA 6. I feel like this whole dlc was a hand full of cars that were intended for 6, they look like npc cars and are completely random. Plus some police vehicles that were already in game.
Anyone have any info on what mods the default cars in the drift races have? They don’t seem maxed out to me. Stock transmission maybe? No turbo?
They pull a lot less, but I like that in some cases and would like to copy it
the Remus and FR36 have the best stock acceleration and speed for anyone wondering.

On high angle drift it needs more grip or we need more power. Would be cool if they added a second turbo option just for cars with the drift tech.

It makes me soooo much more comfortable. Its a bit slower, much smoother and looks so cool. I think it makes the cars almost perfect, if they dialed it back just a smidgh it’d be 100%

the drift tampa looks a little different with the way it drives ima have to take it out tomorrow, might make it a dirt drifter, since well I already have a street drifter.

One thing I’m confused about is when you apply the upgrade, is it better to lower the suspension? As it changes the handling completely.

this dlc is ok because if we want to do like fivem stuff you could have one person do drifting around the city and like 2-5 other people in unmarked/marked police cars.
