Forgive me for asking but as you have owned both the eflight SU30 and Freewing mig29 and flown both to the limits, how would you compare the two? Finding is tough to decide!! Ps keep up the great videos
Hi, i have only flown the SU30, my friend has the Mig 29 hence difficult to recommend since i have not flown the mig29. But from i have seen both planes flies nice at correct setup. In my view the SU30 needs some extra lead and i use 70 gram lead at the rear to get a good cg. The mig29 need som reinforcement of the elevator links and i think it is best with thrust vectoring. My friend observed when he was flying slow and with some angle it could be difficult to recover , once his plane was locked in alpha until it grounded (no damage), after installing the vectoring kit this was eliminated. The flight time is probably a little bit longer for the mig29 since on the Su30 battery capacity is limited due to location and impact on cg. I use a 5000 mhA which suits my preferred cg.
I have one also and was wondering if you find this plane to be a battery hog? It doesn’t like a heavy battery since you can’t push it back far enough to get correct cg so flying with a 5000mah and I only get about 2:30 since it takes so much to get off ground.
Yes the flying time is quite short, i have my timer at 2,5 min and typically land at ca 3,5 min to not stress my battery (approx 3,8 V after landing). I use a 5000 mah battery (GensAce 45 C and 60C-120C) and 70 gram lead at the rear for CG, it flies much better with the lead at the rear.
Hi!, i still like my SU-30, a great plane, but also the F-22 flies great. I have not been flying the F-22 but two of my friends has been flying it a lot. The F22 is approx 1,4 kg lighter giving it a wider flying envelope, and can fly slower. The SU30 needs some more speed and i needed to add some additional mass at the rear for correct CG, which made the plane easier to fly (better in slow turns), and easier to land (easier with alpha to slow down landing approach). Which is best or recommend, difficult to say. Main disadvantage of SU-30 is shorter flying time, i use 5000mA Genz-Ace or HRB, I set my timer for 3 min. (Larger batteries did not work for me, plane did not lift -off on our artificial grass turf flying field (100 m), nose gear more compressed, less angle of attack on wing). The F22 is less critical wrt battery size and flying time is better. Hence both are great planes. For me the SU30 is my favorite EDF at the moment, closely followed by the Freewing Gripen and E-Flite F16 (easy flying) but i have also been considering the Freewing F22 as a candidate in the future.
@@johank2885 Thank you so much for your detailed response. This will help me so much when I get my SU-30. It sounds like I will have to place the battery as far aft as possible. Thank you again and happy landing, sir!
This design looks fantastic no matter the size !
Nice video!
Thank you! :-)
Cool jet, nice flying
Wow! Very god edit 😀 the intro was amazing. Very high end production my friend 😁
And nice filming from you! 😁
@@johank2885 great team work 😀👍
Totally agree with Frode's comment!
Such a good quality video....made my day🥳. Thank you 👍🏽

How much weight you think you added to the tail? I also fly with a HRB 5000 mah, seems nose heavy. And I think I'm already at 150 mm CG.
I use a 5000 mah battery HRB or GensAce. i have added and 70 gram lead at the rear for CG, it flies much better with the lead at the rear.

That's an Su-27UB. It would be an Su-30 if it had canards.
i just bought one kinda scared to fly it i fly the 70mm f16 in safe mode ok ???
Goog job.
Johan sir! Would you still recommend this SU 30 today? I'm being torn between this and the Freewing F-22 90MM 6S. Thank you and happy landing!

Too bad HH sells it .....flys great don't break anything they don't bother stocking parts
