In this country, NYC hands down. I spent hours wandering around Times Square just shooting candids. In Europe, any city, but I think I got my best shots in Venice.

Getting Hugh to answer 21 questions in 9 minutes is - Hold that thought - a minor miracle LOL It usually takes him 21 minutes to answer ONE question! Great subject, great interview.

I greatly enjoy Hugh and Claudia’s work, and often share the Three Blind M & E with my video-media students. Rich and poetic, and approachable.

Enjoyable video. A challenge to Hugh and all street photographers would be to expand one’s attention beyond the comfortable 1st world cities of NYC, Paris, London etc (which are all relatively easy to work in) and try to capture life in the developing world, where most of humanity lives. We need to see more of Mumbai, Dhaka, Lagos, Dakar and so many other huge cities. So many stories to be told there.

NYC, along with SF and perhaps Chicago have to be the top spots for street photography because it's literally a street photographer's playground. I mean people like Jay Maisel say places like NYC are great places for street photography partially because if you f-up on one shot, there's probably a dozen more you can work on. Basically you don't run out of options for opportunities in those areas. Now in a small town of 1000 people, yeah your options may be limited, but also a good street photographer should be able to capture moments no matter where they are (of course larger cities like NYC give you WAY MORE opportunities).

If you have the opportunity, scout Lisbon [Portugal 🇵🇹] for your street photography in Europe. And, by the way, have something to eat and drink. I'm pretty sure it would not disappoint you 😉

Good answers man, all right except the lens, 28 Apo Summicron but for that price you are better of with a Q, or 50 Summilux or Apo Summicron, hehehehe.
