On the topic of draft picks as a coach I am going all in to get gavin McKenna in 2 years trade whatever it takes to get possibly 2 -3 top 10 picks to give us the best chance at getting number 1 pick.

Informative video coach and good to know the rule for different league signings. With regard to Tanner Jeannot, I would definitely consider it especially if the return was minimal and was merely a cash dump by TB. With Jeannot you are getting a physical player who can also skate well and provide energy to that 3rd line pairing. Yes he does make $2.6 m but it is for one year only left on his contract. As a result you will see a motivated player who will be playing for a new contract. If he does not perform well then you let him go or trade at TD time. If he does well, then you could be getting him again at that same approx salary as well as all he brings to the table. Remember he did score 24 goals with Nashville. You don't just forget how to score. Definite upgrade over Pezzetta, and even Armia (pointwise). Also, having him on the wing with Dvorak (Evans) and Anderson could really wake up Anderson as well. Worth a gamble imo.

Great overview. Like you said the cost could be the problem many teams will run after him

No to Jeannot, I don't want to pay for Tampa's mistake in overpaying for him. yes to Davidson, I think he has middle 6 potential( has to improve his skating, imo) .Packaging Struble with the pick doesn't interest me to only move up to#15.

@@HockeyNationLiveShowJeannot is Tampa’s big mistake, overpaid big time!
No different than Deslauriers glacially slow, grossly overpaid and not effective!
If the Habs want to add toughness it should be in the mold of Tom Wilson, not necessarily Wilson but a player with some skill, size and who plays hard!

    Hello Coach
Thank you for keeping us informed
As for Tanner J, Montreal should not trade for him. I'm not sure we will gain anything with adding him.
It would be nice to have a forward
That brings that element. Maybe look around the league

Wonder if Laval will add a new D Coach...Seems important with all the young defensemen down there..

Great show coach, why not Alexander Holtz as a trade target. It would not cost much, and Montreal could develop him & sign him on the cheap.

Who he would be in the line with Necas ? and whether it is possible to form a suitable line with him. Necas is good player, but he is permanently injured and he takes analgesics. He is still young, he can work like this, but a few years later, I don't know...

    • @HockeyNationLiveShow

Thanks for your comment. He can play with Dach. Now Necas missed only 9 games in his 3 last seasons in the NHL.

I would not trade Mailloux or Struble. Not to move to 18 pick, and not for Necas. But I would trade Guhle or Matheson for 6 overall or 7 overall to pick up another forward like Eiserman or Connelly.

Although the Rocket were often a fun team to watch they were as bad and often worse than the Habs defensively so why are we rewarding BAD coaches?
Obviously it is a no brainer teams will...SHOULD improve when they keep adding better talent that is NOT the coach doing a better job of coaching.
You don't want to sign any players nearing the end of their contract from other teams because all your doing is giving up assets to get a player your likely going to over pay to resign.
