We have a dominant Oline, a QB who runs like an RB, two good RB's in Saquon and Gainwell so we should run it down teams throats and pass when we need to. Jalen shouldn't throw more than 25 times per game.

Hurts had 83 net pass yards last game, its a huge, huge problem no matter how crafty people try to make a positive narrative with BS. Hurts can't see the field and he plays panicked, its that simple.

Great job displaying the sky isnt falling! There are some real issues with the passing game though & I think it’s important to acknowledge them as reality. Fran Duffy did a great job displaying some of them with receipts. Jalen holds onto the ball too much with BAD results when he does. A lot of great qbs were on the list of holding the ball for a long time (Lamar, allen, mahomes etc) but the results were night & day when holding over 4 seconds.
It seems to me that the coaches are doing the smart thing and playing to their strength, which is not hurts throwing. The Super Bowl goes through Saquon. Love the content.

The comp%, td%, and ypa numbers don’t extrapolate perfectly because on less attempts the defense is less keyed on the pass (and if he had more attempts the defense would be more keyed on the pass), but I agree that Hurts is playing well this year

This is the things hurts is not a game manager by nature. Gm are typically accurate, scheme conforming, good at dinking and dunking all game, and get rid of the ball at a average to above average pace. Hurts only theirs outside the number which mean the ball travels farther, he holds it forever, does not exactly play within the scheme unless it’s an rpo. He is a playmaker being asked to be very careful with the ball and I believe he is clearly trying to prevent negative plays ie turnovers and in the process limiting his ability to make the plays he should be.
My take with Hurts is that he just makes some silly boneheaded mistakes sometimes. Not frequently, but sometimes. And sometimes, those instances are critical times in the game. You do not take a delay of game penalty, nor do you slide down 8 yards behind the LOS taking us out of FG range, you throw the ball away. This brings me to my main concern with this team. Jake Elliot. Mr. automatic clutch man has turned into an absolute terrifying nightmare on FGs over 50 yards. He hasn't made ONE yet. That's extremely concerning to me, more so than even Hurts's bonehead mistakes sometimes.
The reason that Jalen ran for 30 yards is because his last of the set of downs that he was playing with lost the majority that he figured the only way to make it up was for him to do it and he ran for 30 yards

He passed for 292 yards and rushed for 45 yards. He wasn't perfect but winning is the only thing that matters. Some would rather he threw for 404 yards like Goff and lose LOL! Since the bye he has thrown one pick and has 26 total touchdowns. His completion percentage for the year is 69.2. Saquon, Hurts, and Gainwell accounted for 130 rushing yards against the best run defense in the league. GO BIRDS!
With the current run first pass second formula the Eagles are 8th in points per game. We've beaten 4 of the top 10 offenses in the league. The narrative that we can't win in the playoffs with the current formula is ridiculous.

There was also several things I mentioned that didn't work out in this game. Jalen not pulling the trigger, protection breaking down other times, tipped passes and good plays by the defense, AJ slipping on an RPO, Wilson falling on the clear out route. Not every game is going to be perfect. But we're taking this game and acting like it's been bad the whole season. In reality we've been running the ball so much and been up in a lot of games, if you look at raw totals then it appears they're struggling. In reality, like I mentioned with Jalen's stats, on a per throw basis, Jalen is having his most efficient season. AJ is averaging more yards per Reception than any point in his Eagles career. For some reason we're acting like this one game is representative of the whole season.

Just part of the ebbs and flows of the process but to use 31st ranked passing attack is disingenuous. The fans know damn well if they get out of their feels that this team is not the 31st best passing attack.
Hopefully Jalen's performance against the Steelers today will silence the haters for a bit. He was 25/32, which is a 78.1 % completion rate, threw for 2 TD's and rushed for a TD. He passed for 292 yards and rushed for 45 yards. He wasn't perfect but winning is the only thing that matters. Some would rather he threw for 404 yards like Goff and lose LOL! Since the bye he has thrown one pick and has 26 total touchdowns. His completion percentage for the year is 69.2. Saquon, Hurts, and Gainwell accounted for 130 rushing yards against the best run defense in the league. GO BIRDS!

With the current run first pass second formula the Eagles are 8th in points per game. We've beaten 4 of the top 10 offenses in the league. The narrative that we can't win in the playoffs with the current formula is ridiculous.

They have to have no huddle consistently in the first quarter if they win a score on the first quarter they have to go with the no huddle as they went with no huddle they were able to go ahead and dominate the other team defense because they had no time to substitute

Nick, youre basically saying the scheme is perfectly fine, theyre running all the plays theyre supposed to be, then what is the issue? Why are we not cohesive? And can we win passing the ball like this in the playoffs to a Superbowl?

There was also several things I mentioned that didn't work out in this game. Jalen not pulling the trigger, protection breaking down other times, tipped passes and good plays by the defense, AJ slipping on an RPO, Wilson falling on the clear out route.
Not every game is going to be perfect. But we're taking this game and acting like it's been bad the whole season.
In reality we've been running the ball so much and been up in a lot of games, if you look at raw totals then it appears they're struggling. In reality, like I mentioned with Jalen's stats, on a per throw basis, Jalen is having his most efficient season. AJ is averaging more yards per Reception than any point in his Eagles career.
For some reason we're acting like this one game is representative of the whole season.

It’s not just one game man it’s been consistent for over a year and a half at this point and he just hasn’t gotten any better. Jalen is surrounded by more pro bowlers than any other qb. They should be blowing teams out especially with how good the defense has been but they’re all way too close in the 4th quarter they can’t keep playing with fire and relying on Barkley to go off at the end of the game eventually it will burn them.

The Ravens lost to the Raiders. Jared Goff threw 5 picks in a game. The Bills just lost to a Rams team we smoked with Jalen being very efficient. He's also had all of his Pro Bowlers in and out of the lineup this year and they keep winning.

It doesn’t seem to be a coincidence that, out of nowhere, pundits put out the idea that the NFL is a suddenly “passing league”. And, as fate would have it, fantasy football players would roster their fantasy teams with the most statistically proficient QBs… regardless of how good or bad their respective real NFL teams were at the most important stat - the W-L column. What ff player hasn’t faced the problem where they’re upset that their favorite pro team lost, but they started that team’s QB who threw for 300+ yards in a losing effort (Josh Allen vs the Rams, anyone?) and thought, Oh well, at least my fantasy team won…”? It’s kinda crazy if you think about it!
So while fantasy football drove more casual fans into a broader interest in the game the fundamental, and by far the most important, fact of the game was brushed aside. Before fantasy football, all fans cared about or wanted from the QBs was to win games, no matter what. And the best teams always were always measured by a strong run game and elite defenses (as in the old saying, “Defense wins championships”). That’s all but gone now and we’re left with stat nerds and Negative Nancies (some of the more vocal Philadelphia media and sycophantic fans) dictating what’s “important” to winning football.

When needed, they convert a 3rd and 13 through the air against the Panthers and a damn 33rd and 18 through the aid against the Ravens. They pass when they NEED to and it always works. Many Philly fans overreact but most are wicked smart and honest about the Eagles. Last year most knew it would fall apart eventually, it was on record in national sports shows how fans felt doubtful at 8-0. We have seen enough to know that Hurts issues in the first four games remain though they are covered up by the team and schedule. If he does not dramatically improve there will be no SB for them this year. I would feel better with a Hurts 450 pass yard loss. Hurts had 83 net passing yards versus the Panthers subtracting his yards lost in sacks.
