one of the most underrated defenders in the league... great cut
That stuff on Giannis. Theis is sneaky, you can see him on several occasions in this clip staying small behind other defenders and stopping the evolving angle to the rim with perfect timing. On others he seems to recognize really well when the ballhandler just never sees him behind them, then he exploits. He's so good at picking his spots, and is also great at keeping deflecting to other defenders. Love it

Damn man. It’s a combination of Boston’s defense and Theis ability to predict/time his block. He’s able to block shots against guard driving hard 1v1. The whole team defense of stunting at any/every drives by playing loose on their man at the 3 forces skilled guard drivers to pick up the ball. Then the main man defense doesn’t give up on making lay up as difficult as possible on a skilled finisher. This leads the driver with a more predictable finish. Theis is able to read, help, and execute his block on that perfect timing.
