I hate the thought of it.. because in an sc card I always have access to my data, but in an cloud storage I will have to use internet, plus there is the entire privacy thing.
Basically the reason is that if there is no SD card in mobile it gives an opportunity to the company to sell their high storage variant at high cost as SD card is not there so user want more storage

Micro SD card is a must for backing up of data and photos. At the same time it is better to store some important data either in SSD or a hard disk. Also if a mobile is lost or stolen the data in the memory card is lost permanently. So even it is doubly safe if some important data is stored in the cloud. This can easily be retrieved in a new device.
SD card is used by me to transfer highly important data and keep it as backup , in case the phone dies out or any software mishap. You can't trust these phones with important data. And also its difficult to hack into the memory card, it requires read and write permission. And every company , be it Google or your mobile brand, wants to know what you have stored on your phone.
For me sd card and headphone jack is a must!most better headphones in the market Steel come with 3.5 mm connector and if you see the market properly there are a very less amount of good type c headphones and SD cards are still mandatory because it helps to remove some data from phone storage if necessary.... The more funny thing is that almost every Phone still does supports MicroSD Cards. If you have a USB C MicroSD Card Reader, plug the Micro SD into it and then plug the Micro SD Card Reader into the Phone, the Phone accepts the Card without any Problem exactly like before. Even the function with external Storage for Pictures & Videos is still there.
Sd card. I use both. Plugging and unplugging drive can loosen the charging port and with SD card, there's no rush of moving it the wrong way and accidentally unplugging it. Plus, you can save some files like documents directly to the card so you don't need to pull out a pen drive all the time.
If 3rd party case manufacturers can make a case with multiple sd card support and headphones jack and type c port outside and inside it will be good but in budget within 1000 rs and slim not bulky it will help the phones without sd card n 3.5mm jack because dongles are already available why not integrate that inside a case protection beauty and utility

SD card is like carrying useful storage with devices. Agar companies aisa kardein ki 2 variants bana ke dekhein ekk hi model ke ekk with SD card aur doosra without SD card aur dekhein sale kiski zyada hogi. Phir unhe consumer ki need ka sahi pata chalega price difference bhale se SD card wale ka 2-3 hazaar badha dein toh bhi SD card wala variant hi lenge log. Main 50-60k se upar ke phones ke liye bol raha hoon.

मैंने realme gt और poco f4 का फ़ोन छोड़ कर samsung s20 लिया क्योंकि 30k में micro sd card और वाटरप्रूफ फोन चाहिए था साथ ही qualcomm 8 series cpu। above25 किसी मे भी sd कॉर्ड नही मिल रहा तो samsung ही लेना पड़ा।

Fir bhi mujhe SD card support karnevala hi device chahiye kyuki kuchh important data sd card me store karna padta hai aur agar mobile kahi dead ho gaya ya paani me gir gaya to data safe to rahega, internal memory me store kiya hua data ka koi bharosa nahi
aur sd card ya pen drive me store karke kahi rakh de to uske khone ka dar ya corrupt hone ka darr bhi rahta hai isliye sd card slot to hona hi chahiye ✌️
