I drove one over a cliff at age 15. Really, no injuries. It was a small cliff. My mother’s car, a black ‘62 Windsor coupe. Better looking than this car, but not a letter car, thank goodness. Her previous Chrysler was a ‘60 , also a Windsor coupe in black. It was stunning. The 1960 Chrysler pillarless coupe was IMO a high point not just of Exner’s Forward Look, but of post-war American car design.

Brother what a story! Hopefully you got out all in one piece and your mother wasn't too harsh on you. I for one have totaled a car too and my parents made sure I remembered the lesson haha

I'm afraid the wheels ruin it for me!!!
Why oh why do the people who restore these cars(Whom I'm admire) insist on replacing the original stock wheels which always look better IMHO🤔🧐😒😏

Original stock wheels are only practical if you do not intend to drive the car!..Ancient wheels become very prone to breaking up, due to deterioration over many years. BTW...this 1962 is very rare...it was a one-year "facelift"...then the 1963-64 models came out, looking quite different. The most exotic engine available back then, was the cross-ram, two fourbbl carb, sporting 390 hp. Chrysler really was ahead of the pack, in the early 1960s. Problem was, their cars were generally plagued by electrical problems, and tended to rust out early...even more reason why this 62 is rare!

I have the same car, not nearly that nice, but a survivor none the less. I have 05 Chrysler 300 wheels on mine and they look great as well as giving much more traction and performance than the tiny stock wheels.

Wheels are the easiest thing to change! It's literally the first thing people do to make the car fit their vision.
Wheels make or break the look, you are correct, however if you're intending on actually driving the car.....it's the easiest way to make it drive better.
