Video interview with singer Conor Mason from the English alternative rock band Nothing But Thieves. FaceCulture spoke with Conor about looking back at Broken Machine, the importance of talking about mental health, progressing as a person, writing from emotion, relying on your gut, Amsterdam, what’s next for the band, and a lot more! (15/11/2018)
Said it a million times before will say it a million times again, seeing him smile is the best fucking thing ever.
I've only gotten into Nothing But Thieves recently and I've been listening to them daily. It's nice to see that the singer is really genuine and authentic because you can certainly hear the authenticity through their music. I hope to see them live soon!
Saw them live at ally pally last Friday, best gig of my life
I seen them in Glasgow on the 21st of November and i have to say that NBT are the best band i have ever seen live. I know you'll more than enjoy them when you see them live!
I saw them back in September and it was an Experience ™. Amazing performance and an overall good vibe
He's so adorable and i love his cute voice
Just one question
Is he gay?
@@puyuem4695 no offense but why do you care?
@@puyuem4695 he has a girlfriend
@@waar6561 alright
I think some of you feel to realize that Connor didn't always used to be referred to as male. Is the best way I could summarize that and I don't feel that it's very important but when people start asking a lot of questions about Conor's voice it's a lot easier to just kind of point that out and move on That's why the voice speaking and the same voice sounds so drastically different sometimes.
He DOES always ask the right questions, doesn't he?
And Conor's not afraid to talk openly. That's why I love your interviews! Thank you for this!
So nice to hear him talking fondly about Amsterdam because that's the song that made me love the band and become a fan.
Same here
same!
Amsterdam and Soda are my favourites from the Broken Machine album :)
Same

Thank you for asking questions like this. The answers Conor gave are exactly what I needed to hear and sum up why I love the band so much
Humbled hunk

edit: also congrats on being noticed by daddy disco, maybe conor next?
Excuse me he is an angel👼👼
He's changed so much, I'm so proud of Conor and the whole band. Mature guys. Also, love your interviews! Always nice to listen to.
Every time this wise yet young man smiles a flower blossoms (:
nice! The songs are so incredible ! So deep and meaningful, poetry ... with kick ass music
and that's why NBT is one of the greatest bands, beside amazing music they're making, they are incredible human beings who inspire every single person... so grateful for having these guys on music stage
NBT is the medicine for depression❤️
He’s so cute and wholesome, I’m so happy and proud of how far he’s come 💜💜
I was browsing around on UA-cam getting my daily dose of Jeff Buckley when I saw a comment talking about how Conor and the band is very influenced by Jeff and how Conor is very similar at times to Jeff and can I say checking these guys out was the best decision of my life, I’ve only been a part of this community for about a month but it has changed my life for real
I've been a forever Jeff Buckley fan :-) and when I heard Conor live I was woah, wait a minute.... :)
Im so happy that youtube recommended me Amsterdam while watching Foo fighters, cause that has changed my life! Love it so bad, love you guys, hopefully I'll get to see you someday live. Please keep doing that awesome work you do
What a wonderrful interview, so intimate and honest. Your questions are always on point, and you have such deep respect for your guests. Loved it man
At 50ish I should be to old to like this band. But fuck it I love this band. And just got the latest album. Rock on boys best band in a long time.
5:02 - 7:06 is something I really needed to hear, and I'm sure a lot of other people need this as well. 💕
It's so weird how I'm watching this interview today of all days and that specific part I relate to so much because of recent events, just crazy.
I really respect him for working through and talking about his mental health. Such an honest interview and person. Thank you x
So happy to him smiling! As someone who was diagnosed with severe depression in the past I know how crippling it can be. It makes me happy to see he got through it🙌🏻❤️
This man could run me over with a car and I would thank him.

He’s so unexplainably attractive (even though I’m late to this video)
Should be proud of all the music (Don't ban it!) I LOVE NBT been into them a few years now saw them live last week AWESOME !
His smile is contagious
Awesome interview as always! I'm so looking forward to this bands future and album number 3. I hope that next year we get to see some production stuff from Dom, hopefully he'll produce Airways' album.
Face culture’ s interviews of NBT are the best I’ve seen! You seem to be old friend that chat genuinely. You also make the most interesting questions and treat every personal infos with care and respect. I love your work and I hope to see a new one soon!

7:07 he is the most adorable person 🥺

Omg i can’t wait for the next album, Conor you are a king !
Such a good interview. The questions were interesting for the audience and respectful towards Conor. It's amazing how openly he talks about such personal heavy topics, he's such a wise humble human being who you immediately want to support. You sharing your emotions and feelings helps a lot Conor. Keep growing, keep working on yourself and as you said be happy❤️
Yo... this man this.. this an interview ✨❤️
Went to see them in concert the other day and it was everything I expected and more! Such a great band! Down to earth and so talented 💗
Really nice interview! Loved the questions and how they were openly answered. It made me analyse my own life :)
You know I met a few celebrities lead singer of Aerosmith guitarist from Aerosmith I haven't met Michael Jackson ones and they just felt like they were being idolized by people and that's what made them famous I don't think I've ever really looked up to a famous celebrity and been like wow if I met them I would just pee my pants but I honestly think from that corner it would just be tears is all the stuff all the stuff that that album helped me through and helped me learn about my voice I literally changed how much I can do with my voice and how much training I've started putting into it to the point where I'm starting to get noticed for my music and I can trace that directly back to the broken machine album when I started listening to it and training my voice to be able to do the things I was hearing on that album because I knew my voice could but more importantly there's still songs that when I play them from that album for my friends are these smaller gigs that I still break down into tears because of what they mean to me because of how the song still make me feel to this day in 2020 so to me Connor is the only celebrity so far that I would be shaking and nervous to meet in person everyone else is just interesting Connor really is an idolatry and somebody who pushed me to be better in my opinion without have her having to do anything more than what they were doing creating the music that they shared the world. Wow I'm kind of in tears writing this but it feels good to get it out there and say it out loud if anyone you know who can relay this sort of message to someone like Connor just tell them how wonderful the music makes so many people feel and how they feel so much less alone while listening to it thank you and thank you Connor just just thank you
he is so adorable!
He’s so sweet oh my goooood
Love this interview. Enjoy your break, you've so earned it. Still, I hope it isn't for too long ❤
adore him
i love him
Thank you for this interview!!! Thank you for asking such good questions!!!!
Oof I love their songs so much, I’ve been to 2 shows of them, a few months ago in afas live was gooooood, and the ending in afas with the song Amsterdam was the best, Paaspop was also really good, I really really love them ❤️ ❤️
I've been following the band since their beginnings and I'm so proud of what they've become. They just keep getting better!
Conor is such an amazing human being.
I stan an Angel!
This album means the world to me
God I love him 😂❤
can't wait to hear a new album and also to see them live. That is 1 goal we have with my girl when we move to Berlin
I saw them live a few days ago in Belfast and it was the best experience of my life. As a 38 yr old woman , I don't say that lightly! A very small venue for such a huge band and it was phenomenal! Phenomenal! I definitely recommend trying to see them live.
---> brilliant artist, like same sun
Should be proud, songs are f777king amazing, and the sound is awesome.
Deve essere davvero sensibile. Gran musicista!
There are great interviewees like the nice Nothing But Thieves guys, and then, on the opposite end of the spectrum, you've got Alex Turner, probably the worst interviewee around.
love him
All around great interview. 👍✨
So talented....
All cuteness in one person
Cuty boy is something atractive for you? 😅
He’s so cute 😂😭
this is such a good interview
he's so cute
Fab interview and such a beautiful talented soul ❤️
His voice is so calming! He’s so cute.
I'm so proud of him 😭💖

Please come back to Southampton. You were so good live. I have to see you again.
I think big things are going to be happening for this band! Good luck.
4 guitars, drums buttery smooth vocals with that rock tone and range.
Brilliant band.
first time listening to NBT and I thought the vocalist was Pink lmaoo.. don't get me wrong.. his voice is my favorite so far
Just discovering Nothing But Thieves at the moment, their first album is pretty damn good. Will see them next month on the same bill as The Cure. Cannot wait.
I love you, Conor Mason! Thank you for your music and I can’t wait until you’re in the US again so I can see you for the first time in concert🖤
♥️🖤
I love this so much.
Amo demais esse homem
Casting couch
Delusional Royals 😂😂
Can’t wait for y’all to come back to Minneapolis!
Great interview!
I will support them for forever
what did he go through?
Like... Can we makeout ? Lol
Amsterdam is my fav
Matt Corby if you can get him on please?
I would love to! I'll certainly try the next time he's in the Amsterdam area.
@@FaceCulture Awesome! Also Scott Matthews. He's amazing, but very
"underrated".
Thanks for introducing us to a new artist, we'll keep our eyes open for any possibilities when he comes back to the Netherlands!
To be honest with you, in the song "Take This Lonely Heart" he sounds like a woman and he also looks like a woman with a short haircut...also has a higher-pitched voice(nobody tell him that, please)...anyone can give me an answer that'd be great. Thanks!
Is he transgender?
No, how did you got that idea? :)
@@RockeraMJJ I think just cause he looks and sounds very effeminate, usually means that something didn’t turn on right during adolescence, and his voice didn’t develop properly, nothing wrong with that though.
He’s tapped
hi was a girl?
Hes so held back by NBT ... if listen to their music without his voice you'll know what I mean. I really hope he branches out and collaborate with others.
He's whole description around "staying in ur lane" and "progressing" to me applies to this band. Don't get me wrong I've see them 3 times and followed them to another state so I do live them dearly but sometimes u need to be honest...
Is this a guy or a girl?
