This is a great amenity for the county. Thankfully, the tracks still exist from Sand City to Castroville and Monterey is planning Light Rail service from Monterey to Marina, and further to Castroville and Salinas. Once done, their passenger rail and our Coastal Rail Santa Cruz system will meet at Pajaro and have all of our communities connected with clean modern transit! Passenger rail will relieve road congestion, serve tourists and workers and shoppers and will connect us to the rest of the world! Grab your bikes and ride the train! +Coastal Rail Santa Cruz Passenger train is dead. The electric car, bikes etc have driven the final spike. The times are a (have) changed.
