@@jaydonjohnston798 I hear that excuse way too much. Yes, the DS is a limited platform but it is not nearly as limited as you may think. There are plenty of DS titles that feature 3D cutscenes, and I know because I have played over 40 DS games.
So much nostalgia. I also love how they’re the exact same as the console cutscenes (plus some new ones) except with different audio, and slightly different lighting and textures. Also the music is almost always wrong, but that honestly just makes it really funny
Ah the nostalgia! Funny thing is back in like 2015 I found this game in a used car my family purchased. This was infact my first Lego game to ever own if I didn't play this I wouldn't have been introduced to the the amazing series! So I guess whoever lost this game in their car thank you lol
Always loved how this version of the game has no Tom Kane sounds or anything like that, they’re just ripped straight from LEGO Star Wars, and I love it.
I never owned the 360, so this was my game, I'll never forget all the time I burnt into that game either just playing the story killing the npc's in the hub or just rewatching the cutscenes cus I was bored.
Am I the only one who actually found the DS version of the cutscenes to be better than on the large scale game on the bigger consoles? XD Also this part (25:08) never gets old… unlike Donavan. XD
My favourite part about the original Lego Indiana Jones is the tactile sound design and how compressed it is. It gives it a quality of age similar to the Lego Star Wars complete saga games.
0:59 Anyone ever noticed Satipo's expression never changes in this scene in particular? In the other versions (or at least the Wii version) Satipo's expression changes and it did add a bit of comedy for the scene. Now it just feels like he's a robot
@@nikivella1159 If I had to guess, this is an early version before they had all the details worked out (and before they animated/came up with the C-3PO joke)
Interesting that many bits in the cutscenes are different from the console game. Would they be newly made to save on resources / fit the levels better or are they beta cutscenes from the console game? In some of the temple of doom cutscenes Indy even has the old torso print that was only used in 1 artwork when the console game was announced. Before any gameplay was shown.
I believe a lot of these ARE beta cutscenes! The Lost Temple outro is actually identical to a prototype cutscene found in the Lego Star Wars TCS Wii prototype
I'm almost certain the soundtracks for these cutscenes were redone. There's no dialogue most of the time, just the same few stock grunts, foley and weapons. Oh yeah, and the same music too lol
Who ever knew a Nazi would have the Emperor's laugh! And Lao too and Colonel Deitrich was showing off his blonde unlike in the console clips was wearing his hat. Very cool and funny to hear and see all the differences between console and ds clips I'll always like console version better though the ds levels were nowhere near as good as console but still fun, I remember how bad the graphics were.
They definitely learned their lesson from earlier. This looks much better than the sprite scaling and such from The Complete Saga.
I wish they would've done fully 3D cutscenes though, the video compression can look really bad at times.
@@legoclayface it's a ds, what do you expect?

I like that there is a noticeable difference between the cutscenes directly lifted from the console game and those exclusive to this version
You can usually tell cause the exclusive ones look way too high quality for that engine
Dang this was my childhood back in the day. Console version was on free with Xbox live gold
