j'étais en Angleterre, ceux qui ont connu, ont adoré ce renard, quand il rigolait, vous ne pouviez pas vous empêcher de rire, même si je ne comprenais pas tout
Notice that the airbed even has 'Mr. Roy' written on it! Good old Basil! It's even funnier watching him as an adult. The bit about his tail/brush is the best, but I also love the way that he calls out to his rubber duck: 'C'mon 'orace!'
@chickenspadge I wholeheartedly agree! Watching as an adult is even more hilarious as many of the gas went over the heads of kids back in the 70's. Ivan Owen (the voice of Basil) was a genius
I got banned from watching Basil Brush because I used to run around screaming BOOM BOOM! Poor mum couldn't handle it 🤣 Now I have a 1970 Basil Brush album, a perfect condition 1970 soft toy that I managed to get the other day and I even went to a fancy dress party as Basil. So banning me from watching didn't stop my love for Basil.
Here's a fun fact: Derek Fowlds, who was Basil's sidekick Mr Derek from series two to series seven, played Oscar Blaketon in the Sixties-set police drama Heartbeat from its first series in 1992 to its final series in 2010, but Roy North, who played Basil's other sidekick Mr Roy from series eight to series eleven, actually appeared in an episode of Heartbeat in 1994 called "Treading Carefully".
The puppetry is just awful. Basil is speaking and yet his jaws only rarely move. Compare this with, say, the Muppets, whose puppetry was flawless even in the 1970s.
I’m an eight year old kid again!! Just love Basil Brush.
His trim looks like lord farquad
I'm an American who lived in England for 2 years 47 years ago (I was 7), but, I remember Basil Brush. And the Wombles!
Are you sure you were 47
I'm 58 and remember the Wombles (overground, underground Wombling free) and the Basil Brush vesion that was funny.
You've got good taste.....isn't he lovely?!
He was seven, not forty-seven. Of course he remembers
I miss the old basil
...I.e. the funny one.
There was only one Basil!
"You can have it, it wasn't very funny anyway." They don't make 'em like they used to!
Basil Brush is awesome in billions of ways
j'étais en Angleterre, ceux qui ont connu, ont adoré ce renard, quand il rigolait, vous ne pouviez pas vous empêcher de rire, même si je ne comprenais pas tout
I used to love him when I was a kid; now I live in NY and can share him with my own kids :)
Aw love Basil Brush!!! Lovely nostalgic moment from find childhood memories watching Basil Brush !!! Still love it :)
I'm more used to the Basil Brush from 2002 growing up with it but this great to see.
This version is funny.

😆😆
Basil Brush needs to come back as an elderly fox or Gentleman. 🙂
Like a Fantastic Mr Fox type thing?
The original one, not the modern one
@@colinremmer2417 yes no modern thank you very much
There's never been a posher puppet.
Puppet? Don't spoil my wife's illusion!
I miss the old Basil Brush Show, back in the '70's. Always shown on Sunday arvos. Almost as good was Rod Hull and Emu.
I miss public information stuff like this. Too many people need this information like this but it is not given to them anywhere now.
LOVED Basil when I was a kid
Times like these when I wish I was in the 70s
Fantastic! I loved Basil Brush!
Just too gorgeous....love the teeth!
Mr. Thingy's hair. Tremendous!
Mister Roy was so much fun!
BOOM BOOM!
My childhood favourite ❤
Bazil Brush had a German cousin called Hair Brush.
Phil Short Wasn't he in the Nuremberg trials?
Don't forget cousin Lou from America
😀😀😀
A jolly joust in the waves brought me here :)
Edgar Allan Poe rave on 😂
I love the old basil brush laugh
BRILLIANT ....

You won't get me out in that! I'll get salt in my fur...lol.
Used to watch the whole Saturday lineup - this was my pregame for Dr Who
Those front teeth ha
Loved this as a kid
Aaw I used to love watching this
I actually found out about this from Are You Being Served, Mr. Lucas mentioned him.
There is only 1 Bazil Brush...and it's this one.
I loooooooove this naughty fox!!
omg I was four in 1976! His laugh though.
A lot better than the new one.
Wow so the one I grew up with was a remake of the first one. Nice
Suddenly, the puppets from The Young Ones make a bit more sense, to a Yankee at least.
Cheers!
LOL.
Do you understand the washing machine /Felicity Kendall's knickers joke?
Wow this version is way nicer and more tolerable than the modern Basil Brush.
The modern version is a travesty. Alas the original actor died.
The Brits had Basil Brush, and the Americans had a green frog called Kermit. I call it a draw.
Loved Kermit. I still have a plush Kermit 😀
The Muppet Show was a UK co-production filmed at Elstree!
Basil Brush everyone favorite fox 🦊
SO British!
Its still awesome
Nothing you could relate to obviously
awesome
This is the year my dad was born (1976)
Basil barely moves his mouth hahahaha boom boom
Did you know later on Basil joined that rock band The Animals
Yes don't go out if you do not whether to go out or not...if you do...you have warned...!!!!!!
The original and best
Film Brain's Bad Movie Beatdown brought me here! Anyone else??
Boomboom
Film Brain brought me here.
Harrison Laine Me too.
@MorroccoSurrogate How about Lord Charles? Probably before your time, but Ray Allen was a great ventriloquist on youtube somewhere
Are you being served brought me here
Same here, had to find out where the pjs were.
BOOM BOOM
1:15 "Ah ha ha ha ha. Boom boom."
I've just noticed that BB has had an ear job. Two ear jobs actually.
And a fur job and a nose job and a teeth job obviously, too - shame...
Does anyone know what Ivan Owen looked like??? If so please tell me🙂👍
Can anyone write down what they talk? I would very much appreciate that.
Also..I cannot find BB's other videos on the links above. Can you?
The original " Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha , Boom Boom " was much better than the one we hear of today.
ha Ha Ha boom boom
Who's the guy with the Jimmy Connors bowl haircut?
Roy North (aka Mr Roy).

I meant leister vardy
hahahhahahahahhaha
@chickenspadge Totally agree! The real brush is better.
Never heard of this show. Probably cuz I'm not British.
Probably because it's rubbish, as you can see.
White Tony ikr
RevealingTheAnointed👎🏻 shut up
@Aptitude Uh, that's an ankh.
what's up with the ankh? Heathen... ;)
1:16 Did anyone see the puppeteer's arm?
That was the late David Biddle. A great man who will be sorely missed.
+MonotoneCreeper was my teacher 2012-2014 till he got ill :( wonderful man. he loved everything he did with a passion RIP
Ivan Owen was the voice of Basil. I loved him so much as a kid.
Monotone actually it was Ivan Owen who created Basil in 1962 and performed and voiced basil until his death 2000 😊🙂👌
@@MonotoneCreeper what?

Foxy who?
Foxy the pirate from five nights at freddies
Electric Joe Oh, of course.
Hmm, I wonder if one of them was a comedian... Bonnie, maybe. Bonnie the funny bunny.
+Asa Holmes reminds me of robarate

Except basil brush isn't terrible
Could this not be played on the beach at Calais.. Might encourage the immigrants not to cross!
The puppetry is just awful. Basil is speaking and yet his jaws only rarely move. Compare this with, say, the Muppets, whose puppetry was flawless even in the 1970s.
The Basil Brush nowadays looks like a cheap copy made in China.
Green ThisEarth
Agreed. They lost the love
More like a red-dyed rat - the charm is gone. A pity.
i dont like this
awesome
