  • AKAI MPC RENAISSANCE IWORK FLOW FOR BEGINNERS from samplekings.com covers everything you need to know about the AKAI MPC Renaissance.
The MPC RENAISSANCE is the first MPC from AKAI that is not a standalone sampler sequencer, like older models, it's more of a MIDI controller, that gets its power from a laptop computer or desktop, with an audio interface.
The Akai MPC Renaissance is a fully integrated hardware/software system that allows you to construct and create songs using the classic hardware controls and pop-up LCD display that has made the MPC a known name in the world of music production, while incorporating an intuitive software program for sequencing on your computer. Along with legendary controls, the MPC MPC RENAISSANCE features Akai’s exclusive MPC software with 128-track sequencing, instant mapping and real-time adjustment of VST plug-ins, and a 6GB+ sound library that will vastly expand your production capabilities to your Mac or PC In this instructional series we covered every feature like, how to setup your computer, loading all the samples, creating a beat, sequencing the pattern, to using it as a plugin and much more. I bought a MPC Renaissance used from Guitar Center and went thru the process of registering the device. It's also compatible with MPC beats software, which is cool.

I use all native instruments and have virtually everything they have. I needed a new inspiration so I just went and got me the MPC REN. It’s a learning curve for sure, but I like challenges

    Hey Doc,
Thank you very much for the great work you're doing!
I have a problem. When I am in ableton using the mpc plugin, i can only control an external device (korg emx) when I'm in the midi control mode on the top right. But when I come back in the main mode, it doesnt work.. And can only select midi:DAW when i would like to select my external device. Do you know how could I do to be able to use my external device within the plugin with all the advantages of ableton and mpc software?
    hope it was clear master!

    I have a question.
I heard Mpc ren has a audio interface inside. Is that good audio interface? Or Do I have to buy other audio interface ?
For example ,focus lite saffire 40 like that. Which one is more high quality sound? Just any anwer of your view point please.

It’s old and not as good as today’s digital converts. They all sound good you just need to test them to see what works for you.

I am considering buying an AKAI MPC Renaissance 2nd hand. After I install the software and get to the registration part, will this work considering it has already been registered by the previous owner, would the previous owner need to un-register the device first? Any advice welcomed as im just a bit concerned about buying one and being unable to use it due to not being able to register the software.
Also is this software the Predecessor to MPC Beats ? Would the renaissance work with MPC Beats (I have MPC beats but see no factory preset option for the Renaissance making me think it is incompatible / not designed to work with MPC Beats.
