I just got the baby of the line, the MRX 540 8k. What an amazing step up in sound quality and immersion from my previous Cambridge Audio 751r receiver. I'm not sure how much of that sound quality upgrade comes from the receiver itself or the stellar ARC Genesis correction. I am very happy with my 540. Would have preferred to have zone 2 outputs on it but I got a great deal on the 540 and not prepared to spend the extra $900 for that. The only negative is the fan noise is excessive so if installed outside of a rack, it will be noticeable. Otherwise, fantastic AVR receiver. Thanks for the video.
nice!!!! and it's definitely a combination of both ;) yes that's definitely one of the few if not only gripes about it is the fan noise when utilized in an open room. yw and thx for watching!
Thanks for sharing. I'm interested in the same unit and reached out to Anthem recently about the fan noise they said they made an update to address this problem. I'm wondering if this is a problem when play loud or taxing the receiver with power hungry speakers. Have you noticed slow switching between hdmi inputs and slow cec comands ? Thanks
@@deadline7610 I time hdmi input switching at 5-7 seconds. Currently I'm on firmware 2.3.213 but I actually don't notice the fan noise in my setup which is inside an equipment rack at the back of the theater (about 15 feet away from the front listening seats). It would make sense if the receiver is working hard (generating heat) then the fan may speed up .. but it's not something I notice at all. Cheers.
hi jordan thanks for watching and for your question - I would go with the audioquest nrgy3 for the 540 and the nrgz3 for the 740 and 1140 all with the C13 connector to fit the appropriate male end on the AVR if you're interested in any of these cables shoot me an email and i can get you set up ! sales@audioexperience.net
Watching with headphones. What mic you using? Your voice moves around wherever you are on the screen and during first person POV, I can hear your voice at the back. I even looked back when I heard glass ringing. XD Liked, Subbed and comment for algorithm!
I know this isn't the newest video but hoping you still watch them for comments. I was looking into XLR connections for subs and assumed this would have them but obviously it doesnt. Is XLR old school and no longer needed/desired or another reason they didn't include it on this model? Not a deal breaker. Just curious.
terrific question - XLR's are not old school at all, they're simply not available on AVR's as the price point would not make it feasible. if you want XLR you will need to go with a dedicated preamplifier processor (AVP). if you're in the market please feel free to call me to discuss and we can find one that fits your needs. 203-808-6991 thanks for watching!
yeah i hear you but there was a lot to talk about - i watch most of my YT videos on 2x speed to get through things faster, that's what i'd recommend doing - wish the TV app had that feature but it's only on phone / computer this is not my new toy, it was for my client - he LOVES it :) thanks!!!

Nice video. Unfortunately no toroidal power supply in the 740. Only 1140
yeah true that - should have put it in all 3 models
What power cord are you recommending?

Anyone owned anthem and denon or anthem and pioneer? If so how would you describe the difference?
I kept speeding though this video…
Congrats though on your new toy.
On your next video I would speed it up a bit. 2thumbs up.
