Ajahn Brahmali is a great teacher who excells in giving true Dhamma talk. Dear Ajahn Brahm and BSW, please offer more time slot for Ajahn Brahmali. I don't understand why you need to have so many outside speakers (from Mahayana and Tibetan monks and nuns) when you already have such an excellent Bhikkhu who is speaking genuine Dhamma. Please let us hear more from Ajahn Brahmali. Thank you.

Dhamma is like a snowball... gradually grows on you.. purification grows, purity of the heart grows... confidence grows...see it inside your own heart...gradually gradually ....everything takes on a life of its own .... what a wonderful description!

This is such a good talk. Life changing advice here. It’s good to listen to talks often because it can help shed light on something that would help you break through to a higher level that you might have not known hadn’t you exposed yourself to something new.

It's amazing how the average person can relate so well to a Buddhist monk, someone who most people would see has extraordinarily different than themselves at first glance. I truly appreciate these talks to the bottom of my heart, and thank every speaker and the BuddhistSocietyWA for their hard work.

I am so encouraged. Wonderful teacher. Thanks Ajahn Brahmali.
I had that problem you mentioned about metta meditation, it always felt pretty fake parroting the good wishes. It makes such sense that one has to do kind deeds first then you can know what being loving feels like. It is so good to have learnt a practical method from you. This has been bugging me for a long time. I once thought metta meditation is not possible for me.

    • @kumu2613
      @kumu2613 2 роки тому

What you say is very true. One cannot have an unwholesome day and then, sit on the mat and hope to have all thoughts of metta. Many Ajahns have also said to interweave mediation into our daily lives and not consider it as something separate from rest of our lives. This is also how Buddha taught the lay people and even the newly ordained sangha.

Many people dont seem to appreciate generosity or other kind acts.. its almost like kindness is considered a weakness sometimes. Its really strange. Instead, many ego driven negative behaviours are celebrated. People who are kind to/genuinely interested in others, and not prisoners of their own ego/story are seen as uninteresting. I remember from early on loving people who had this warm, understanding, 'universal' presence, and I think I have the ability to be like that too. Nowadays Im just sorry to observe there arent many people like that in my life. In an environment where wrong kind of behaviour is encouraged its very easy to become curled up and not let your own beautiful self shine, that then hurts you innerly because you want to interact in a positive way.

It's a title for senior monks in the Thai tradition. As for Brahm, it's short for Brahmavamso, which means excellent lineage, if I remember correctly. Not sure about the name Brahmali.

Verse 168. The Righteous Are Happy - Here And Hereafter
    Rouse yourself, be diligent,
    in Dhamma faring well.
    Who dwells in Dhamma’s happy
in this birth and the next.
Explanation: Wake up to reality; do not be delude. Live in
accordance with reality. The realistic person lives happily in this
    world and in the next.

1 I am mostly thoughtless but not energetic or feel mindful but more like in the blank. Pl explain. I do meditate.
2 As a layperson is Nirvana possible
3 With all the kindness there are still people who suck you up. What do you do with people like that
    Thank you for this channel
