I'll probably go Pedal Assist on the next ebike. I just put a My1016 chain-drive motor on a used Nishiki mountain bike. I have regular pedal gears on the right side, and the motor on the left side. My range is stupid high since I wired Greenworks 24v batteries in parallel and can pedal and coast more, which is key. My opinion is too much frictional resistance and weight. Thanks for the good video this helps me narrow it down to brushless hub motor and Pedal Assist next time.
Great video, question though which reasonably priced fat tire pedal assist E Bike with shocks front and back would you recommend? Not seeking a 26" E Bike , smaller works better for me. Thanks
I think 'pedal assist' are the only electric bikes that should exist! People who want a 'full throttle' bike should get a motorcycle instead. Throttle bikes should be outright banned here in the US, and anyone riding one should have it confiscated by the authorities and face charges.

Regarding ebike insurance, I would say pedal assist-only are better.
