My only thought of course coming from a musical vantage point is this: I believe all great musicians of our time ( especially those that start off only making tracks) start off with the pure gift from our Creator right? ( not to get too deep or spiritual, just stating the obvious) then the man made machine gets a hold of this gift and it is tempted, hence the introduction Fergie( not disrespect to her as a artist and her contribution to BEP, but there was KIM HiLL before Fergie who in my opinion was a diamond in the rough, vocally and lyrically, she had all the makings of another Lauryn Hill imo. I choose to listen to those artists/group whose had pure talent and were overlooked OR improperly managed OR not properly funded. i.e - Jurassic 5, The People Under the Stairs, Jedi Mind Tricks etc. As you can see Im a music nerd, not just with hop hop, any genre, I am not my without Music! I appreciate both types of genres Black Eyed Peas brought to the table. Maybe it's because I grew up with the Boom Boom Pow era of their music but I see nothing wrong with reinventing yourself as an artist and you can't deny that if they stayed the same that they most likely would have gotten overshadowed. They changed the game and Will. I.Am is a musical genius in my opinion and I really respect his talent. Ya'll really sound like haters for real. Smh people change and don't lie if you were in the position to make a lot of money you would have " sold out" too.

The Black Eyed Peas are one of the best groups I've ever seen. You wanna know why?...Because they adjust their songs to fit the popular genre at the time, but still stay themselves. You can hear a song and usually always know it's them, but as the years pass, their styles change for the times, which I find truly amazing. Bravo~!

i can say that i dig the BEP underground sound before they hit it big but will.i.am & taboo even said so themselves that when they were an underground act they struggled to make ends meet and their dream was to just make enough to own their own homes! fergie definitely changed their sound and style but i cant blame them for doing that to achieve their deserved stardom & dreams even if it is to the detriment of what got them noticed in the first place.

The Black Eyed Peas are an example of when the love of money over rides the love making great music which equals great art. Without Fergie they were making a little money, but great music. There first 2 albums. With Fergie they makin tons load of bread, But ok to bad music. Elphunk was alright. Everything else after that was water downed hip-hop!!!

Nobody can say they ditched all "old school samples" when they recorded an entire album that was inspired by old school samples. It's not being mainstream, it's the way they feel right now. Partying. Living their life.
