How To Make Steampunk Hookah DIY#2 With Working Pressure Gauge

- Today I want to show you the idea of creation, a steampunk hookah, with a working manometer. In time the smoke is sucked in, the manometer shows a vacuum, and when smoke comes out, the pressure gauge shows the pressure.
So that the video did not turn out to be long, behind the scenes, the dial of the manometer was made in the graphic editor, and brass and copper parts was polished, and the copper coil was twisted, you've already seen this many times in my past videos.
Brass and copper parts are soldered with silver.
As a water tank was used a bottle of sparkling water VOSS 375ml, you can buy it in any supermarket, this allows us in the event of breakage of the bottle easy its replacement.

You know sometime ago I got an idea for an online game named the Outland Odyssey it's about a screw up named David Pierce who after a night of partying ends up in a car accident and ends up in a coma. He ends up in a post apocalyptic world called the Outland set in Africa where survivors of a global disaster have started over, in order to go home David have to earn enough money in the fortress cities and settlements throughout the Outland as a temporary worker. It would be intresting to see tinkeres, craftsmen and builders take on Outland challenges with salvaged material like making a functional desalination facility out of a fishing boat or a barbecue stall out of bricks, sheat metal, shopping carts and oil barrels or anything else.

I just want to say that I really enjoy the work you do and seeing the items you create and come up with in each video. Im not sure if your aware or not, but smoking out of Copper such as a Copper Pipe or Hookah such as this can give a person a very bad case of Lock Jaw and yes, I have seen this happen to several friends who didn't believe the old wives tale so to speak. As far as a presentation piece though, its beautiful and I cant wait to see what else you bring to the table.

Is brass. Then it's safe....
Scurvy Squirrel In order for brass and copper to release toxic fumes requires heat surpassing 700degrees, which you won't get from a lighter. So while smoking, you'll never reach those temperatures. It's safe. Stop
Depends on the copper really. You most definitely CAN reach 700 degrees with this, if used excessively. Plumbing copper is NOT just copper, but an alloy of other materials, such as zinc, lead, and aluminum added to copper. Do your research. Aluminum is ok if not coated or thin, like foil. Brass is also ok if not coated; must be pure brass. Like I said, do your research. The bowl can be aluminum, brass, glass, wood, steel, ceramic. User your brain, anything you can cook in can be used as the bowl. On a side note, that flux can be hazardous. You should soak the solder joints in water with baking soda to leach out the flux that didn't burn up and leads in the solder, as much as possible.

Oh in that case, I would love to have a puff on that cool hookah, but as people have pointed out, put less water in and use coconut coals, and you will look like a boss smoking that thing.

У меня вопрос - вы покрываете чем-то медь и латунь после полировки, чтобы не окислялось?
Сделал флешку по вашему видео, через пару недель потемнела медь и латунь. Правда я патинировал серной мазью, может в этом причина быстрого потемнения металла. Отполировал снова, задул из баллончика акриловым лаком. Не знаю, думаю что лак отвалится.
Здравствуйте! Всё зависит от заказчика, в большинстве случаев заказчик хочет чтобы предмет был живым чтобы он понемножку старел изменял свой цвет, но бывают случаи когда нужно остановить процесс окисления меди или латуни, Есть множество способов, (Мне кажется что я уже под каким-то видео это рассказывал) мой любимый и я думаю более надежный способ нанесение защитного покрытия, это электростатическая окраска, конечно это очень тяжело сделать дома но так как у меня есть друзья которые занимаются этим, мне не составляет труда им принести детали для окраски, в других случаях, я просто свои вещи которые отдаю заказчику снабжают средствами для чистки и ухода.
Чтобы лак хорошо прижился на поверхности обязательно после полировки нужно деталь очистить каким-нибудь обезжиривающим средство, потому что сама паста для полировки имеет компоненты которые влияют на скорость окисления.

Обезжирил ацетоном. Но лак все равно слезает.

The more water has nothing to do with cooling, it pressure on the pull, but cooling will come from he temp of the water not the amount.

looked down in my bits and parts box - (bike centre front wheel ) i put a small drill head on the end bolt Was going to make a hand winder springs etc also could fit a pulley on it run a 12 volt motor with it then i ask myself WHY ? i do these things and puts it away until i start watching these videos a year L8tr oh i can make stuff 🤷♂️😬 🚶♂️yeah right
