I pull 550+ watts into my Bluetti AC200Max with my 3 PV200 solar panels on a sunny day because I know how to read the manual, follow the simple instructions, and set the charging input.
Speaking of bricks (your words, not mine) the Ecoflow will become one 5 times faster than the Bluetti because of battery chemistry. This translates to many more years of service life. The LiFePo4 batteries in the AC200MAX are far safer as well and not prone to catching fire and exploding like Li-ion batteries. Both of these are mic-dropping, walk off the stage facts that you failed to mention here.
John, I have the same BLUETTI as you have. I ordered the 220 watt O.G. TREK blanket and I'm hoping your experience is also mine. From other UA-cam sites I know the AC200 MAX has very efficient output compared to the Delta Max.
Turn to pv mode from car mode for intake.
this comment just changed everything. thank you for mentioning it. I have 1600w of panels (4 in series at 800w and another 4 in series at 800w). I was getting like 200w, random drops to 0w, sometimes as much as 300 watts. I
Wattage was all over the place, nothing was making sense.
I disconnected my solar cable from the AC200max, gave it 20 seconds, switched to PV mode on the touch screen. Plugged things back in and... 917w right away.
This was the last piece of the puzzle I could not figure out. Thank you.
Thank you!!!! I had zero coming in, and was cussing and pulling out my hair in frustrated agony! Trying again tomorrow.
I’m having the exact issue with my AC200max. Did you ever find out why it’s reading wrong? Thanks.
WARNING!!!!! Operator error, please read the instruction manual.
Prior to hooking up the charge cable, you must go into "Settings" and change the input from "Other" to "PV.
Thanks for the tip 🙂 I'd give you a kiss but I'm trying to make my dad proud still
I'm glad I ran into this video. I had the same problem with my AC200 MAX. So as mentioned in the comments, I changed the input setting to PV and now I'm getting peaks of 580 watts with two 280 watt panels in series in full sunlight today. I wish I could post a picture here for proof!
I wouldn’t think you could get 400 watts, let alone over 400.
My Bluetti AC200MAX gets 360 watts on a sunny mid-day, here in rainy England. The line loss and efficiency ratings mean that it's actually impossible to gain more than around this figure for 2 x 200w rated panels, so your Ecoflow Max (though a great prodcut) is over-estimating the input there, I suspect.
@darkhorsecloud2421 I actually like the fixed or flexible Renogy MC4 panels as they are 100% waterproof and with a 5m MC4 extension cable (coming in through the catflap!) I am able to leave them in the garden 24/7. Today is bright, so I'm getting around 280w max, but the sun is so low and also the clouds reduce this to 18w sometimes. Also the AC200 Max uses a LOT of power compared to the new Jackery 2000 Pro, just to keep it on, so I find when it's going dark I disconnect the lead as even a trickle of
@darkhorsecloud2421 Hiya. Not as far as I know, but I am now hanging a flexible 5kg 200w Renogy panel from the washing line to get more early morning sun as it takes until 10.30 to reach the metal-framed Renogy 200w on the ground. I used to have the Solar Saga 100w Jackerys with my Jackery 1000 until I upgraded, but they aren't waterproof and I don't like the faf - now I just leave the 2 x 200w in the garden 24/7 (one metal-framed and one flexi on the line for more sun) and feed the cable to the AC200 Max on the dining table through the catflap, so it's 100% maintenance-free. Hope this helps!
@darkhorsecloud2421 When the green light is on the unit DOES DRAIN surprisingly fast even when both DC and AC power is off, losing around 3-5% overnight, so I make sure to switch off overnight. Mine has drained to 0% and it just shuts down then comes back on the 'initialising' screen and works fine after. My advice though is don';t go below 2% for battery longevity.
@darkhorsecloud2421 Yes but even when turned 'off' by the app, as soon as there is a tiny trickle of solar charge, the unit boots up 'initialising' again. I've been forced to remove the PV cable when light is low so that it stays off.
Thanks Chris for all your answers to Darkhorse Cloud 👍 ... I've purchased AC200MAX couple of days ago, and expecting to arrive tomorrow. I was looking for couple of Bluetti's 200W solar panels that I can use, but now I want to check those Renogy 200W panels and with that 5m extension, I would do the similar as yourself 👍😎
Read the instructions for the AC200max ... Bluetti input needs to be switched to PV
Hey Rene! I wanted to say thanks for the fast shipping to me here in Texas. Got my second 200w blanket and parallel cable kit for my Ecoflow Delta 1300 now. Got me maxed out buddy. Next step is an Ecoflow Max when I get the funds. Thanks a bunch for originally walking me thru all this on the phone. You're a patient guy. Nice to find an honest vendor. I'll be back. 👍
I had the same issue I had to switch to PV... it won't allow you to select PV unless you unplug the wire... I struggled for days before I figure that out.
Thank you! After a hurricane, couldn't figure out why I couldn't switch over. Ending up having to use neighbor's gas generator.
What did you find out from Bluetti about the difference in charge rates between the EcoFlow and the Bluetti? I find it very difficult to get through to Bluetti and their email answers to answer the questions I ask. Thanks
Turn on pv mode.
I get 800 watts out of my 920 watt panels
Everyone says to turn on PV mode but no one says how
@@scpay settings - input - pv or car
Have you checked the PV input settings. I had the same problem until I changed the setting.
You need to understand the settings before you do a review !
PV mode. ?
Do your homework
You don't specify and I can't tell how you connected the solar panels, whether in series or parallel. AC200 Max should be in series because they have a max amperage which might be why it is maxing out at 190 or so. Also as others have said, switch to PV mode.
You cleared up a months-long problem for me. The manual says series or parallel so I kept them in parallel as I did for my Goal Zero. I was unaware of the amperage limit. I put my panels in series and the unit worked perfectly. Can't thank you enough!
I have Ecoflow delta pros and also find that they take solar in extremely well. Even on cloudy days they take in WAY more than I could expect them to. I have not used the Bluetti units.
Pretty happy I got the Delta Max instead of the AC200MAX and up to now. I haven't encountered any issues.
Turn on PV mode. Easy fix! Will charge close to the same as EcoFlow
FYI… I had a long conversation with Bluetti about Customer Service. I was told they are in transition on their warehousing of products, and in transition of handling customer service. Currently it has to go through China first and that’s why the wait times are so long with Customer Service. I was told they will soon fix it to where it will be going only through Usa instead of through China first. It sucks but they are working on it and should be fixed after the move is final and settled in.
Why are you getting over 400 watts? That doesn’t add up
We offer a true efficiency rating, other companies do not
@@offgridtrek $2000 for 200 watts..whoa. $10 a watt.
Yes, I just got mine and I'm having the same issue. The best I got out of my 2-200w panels was 215 at any given time. I'm in sw Georgia
Do you have PV selected because if it is other/DC it will only be half.
Can you show that you have your Bluetti on the PV setting and then show the solar input readings?
Why not clarify what setting on
On the bluetti, do you have it set to dc input charge or pv input charge? This could make a difference in input wattage.
That's what I'm thinking. How to change the setting is probably in the manual or an online source. The weight difference and different charging times between the two generators are due to the battery chemistries of the two products. The Ecoflow Delta Max has NCM batteries. Ecoflow's website states that owners should get 800 charge cycles to 80% capacity. The AC200Max is rated by Bluetti to get 3500+ charge cycles to 80% capacity. That's due to the AC200Max's LiFePO4 battery, which is heavier. Are you selling your AC200MAXs?
Rene and Everyone at Off Grid Trek are Good People, Order With Confidence.. I have bought my Ecoflow Expansion Battery's from them and I couldn't be happier with the deal I got and the way I was treated, and First Class Service.
Same issue. 3 200w panels max input 420w on the same Bluetti. Additional anomaly: DC input while driving showing 65% charge, 20 minutes later 100%. How can that be trusted?
Agreed. I have some older 100w poly panels and when I plug them in I can get higher wattage. No matter what i do with my 215w OGT solar blanket, I never seem to eclipse 160w going in. I checked via a watt meter and I’m not hitting maximum amperage of the bluetti because I never get over 10 amps going in, and have the PV setting enabled. Anyone else still having this problem?
Any chance of getting a 120 watt solar blanket to review on my youtube channel' with my ecoflow river?
Glad you did the video because I’m having the same issue. I thought I was doing something wrong.
Did you change your input setting to PV?
Pv setting
That's really interesting. One of my viewers is having a similar situation with his newly purchased acmax. I don't have one to test.
Your settings are wrong in the ac200max
Thanks for posting this video, I would personally do a meter test and then determine the solar panel output, you might be surprised at the results. In my past years of solar panel testing the rated panel output falls way short of the energy produced.
Turn to PV mode from car mode, it makes all the difference
I'd say the Ecoflow has a false reading. No way any panels can get to their solar rated maximum. There are many losses compared to perfect laboratory conditions ratings.
That is true with low efficient panels which is what most companies offer. We chose to go another direction and offer high efficiency panels. Also we are showing real world conditions not laboratory conditions, keep in mind even with high efficient panels you will not always see the full wattage, being this is based on location, time of day, elevation, cloud cover etc.
Change to pv setting
why disconnect all the time there is a problem with the bluetti if you only get 150 from 2x200...means connection problem of the panels.
Yeah , my bluetti came with shitty kicked in boxes customer service was no help... but I'm having similar issues with my ac200max, barely getting over 150watt charge with 3, 100watt solar panels. I've tried multiple different configuration of wire connections there doesn't seem to be any difference in charging with solar, tried it with just the 2 solar panels and I get the same results... and just to let you all know I am in Arizona over a 100 degrees with no sun, I'm so pissed I spent over $3100
What about helmets or earpieces that are translating in real-time? Language barrier is easily remedied with technology.
Just got my bluetti ac200max plus 3 pv200, take it to 7 days at camp for usage testing. I think it doesn" t worth my $3500 for this junk. It drained so fast when I plug into my 30ft camper w/ just normal lighting, some microwave, and ac. Charging the whole sunny day only gets up to 70% of battery.
Put the panels in series …
Simple fix, settings-DC input - PV , problem solved.
It amazes me the amount of money ppl have to waste. Just put it in pv mode.
same issue
RTFM next time...
Bluetti este net superior datorită tipului de baterie ...ca sa obții rezultate bune cu Bluetti citește cu atentie manualul.
Flawed testing.
im just gonna say. Biased. cause. series vs parallel
What can you expect from Bluetti. If my memory serves me right, they trashed the AC200P only after a few months and replaced it with another worthless power station which is the AC200 MAX.
