Hey guys I just did a partial chrome delete on my 17 Taco Truck (yes that is what I call it. lol) I replaced the start button, 4WD drive selector, shift knob and center console chrome pieces. The 4WD Selector was a little more tricky because some how when I disassemble the button two very little black pieces that fit on top of the springs inside the housing fell out. This caused the switch to freely rotate from 2WD to 4WD. When I installed it back into the truck my 4LO light was flashing and finally gave way to "Warning 2WD 4WD system malfunction" After watching numerous videos on how to take apart and re-assemble I was convinced I was missing something. Lucky for myself I was able to find these two very tiny parts/pieces. Now it works fine no issues.
Except for the 4x4 piece, you can switch all of these out without removing any tabs. Just use a small trim removal or screwdriver and they'll come off. The chome clips may break but you dont need them anymore...
Just FYI that tool isn't a pry tool necessarily lol it's an O-ring removal tool. They're usually pretty sharp and I wouldn't suggest using them on your interior plastics.
The SRs and SR5s come with black door handles. You can get them from Toyota OR find someone with a SR or SR5 and trade with them. I guarantee you can find some that want to swap. No cost. Win-Win.
Is the MGM color a direct match to the factor dash/steering wheel pieces that aren’t black? I want to match that color exactly but not sure what I need.
Nice. I am going with the AJT Designs Voodoo Blue to match my Tundra. I'm struggling to find the center dash moldings to get rid of the brown they put in my Limited. Why would they even put that in there anyways...lol
Is there a chrome delete kit for manual transmission? When the sun hits the chrome trim, drives me nuts. Also what phone mount do you have on the center dash in this vid?
I believe it's the regular climate control rings instead of the dual. I'm using the WizGear, it's super cheap and the magnet is plenty strong to not drop the phone when off road

AJT sells an awesome cover for the steering wheel. You can get a mirror control knob cover off a seller on Etsy. Meso's door handle covers are "coming soon TM."
Door handles and steering badge overlays are coming soon the last I heard. Also, for the side mirror adjustment knob.. just get an OEM replacement from a Camry. They come blacked out and only a few bucks.

The Tacoma’s look better with a little bit of chrome. Save your time and money and keep it stock. Fully Blacked out stuff is overdone by people trying too hard to be cool. Give the spec ops, hard man shit up. It’s over.
