Vin was just the best. I remember watching this and it still ranks as a special moment in baseball. True baseball fans recognized just how special this was.
Rest in Peace Vin. My great grandfather listen to you, my grandfather listened to you, my dad listened to you and now i listened to your voice. Thank you
Fernando llevas el cincel en la mano y la luz en el alma ,nunca te olvidaremos Fernando ,, Fernando you carry the chisel in your hands and the light in your soul, we will never forget you , thank you FERNANDO.
Oh my! What wouldn't I do or pay to have our home town legend Vin Scully call out the play by play in this World Series. So proud to walk and live amongst so many LA legends.
Many teams have long-time, beloved announcers who become an integral part of their team's history, with an impact that exceeds almost any of the teams' players. Then there is Vince Scully. The incomparable Scully is the dean of baseball broadcasters. We were lucky to have him for so many years. (Since 1950!)
The Dodgers have been very lucky to have Vin Scully as their commentator for 66 years. Vin Scully's love and gratitude to the game of baseball is absolutely amazing.
That was one of the greatest moments ever in a pregame ceremonial first pitch. There have been so many truly great baseball announcers who have truly entertained us with the skill to both describe the action on the field while entertain us with humor, especially with their partner in the booth. Only one Vin Scully. The Dodger fan was so lucky to have had hi for all those years.
I remember this like it was yesterday. One of my favorite Scully moments out of so many favorite moments. Vin, you are irreplacable and you will be so, so missed. Rest in peace.
I've never liked the Dodgers ever but I love Vin Scully, even when my heart was breaking with the "behind the bag" call in game 6 in '86...He was best at what he did and this moment was absolute gold...
Hi Dodgers fans. I'm from Philly. We had Harry Kalas, and you have Vin Scully. I have great respect for both of them And, you also have one of our fan favorites of all time, Chase Utley. Congratulations LA
Theo...Vin sits in a group of only him at the top of greatest announcers, your guy Harry though was in that next group. Absolutely one of the best to ever do it and sadly left us too soon Phillies fans were blessed to have him. I also remember alot of the Football work Harry did also, what an incredible announcer!
That was AWESOME. Not gonna lie, this gave me goosebumps. Even better, the game was pretty rockin', too. Just happy to watch some good, passionate baseball in the 2017 WS. My team lost, but these teams are playing really well. Please go 7.
I'll be honest, when Vinny called for a left-hander, I thought it was going to be Sandy Koufax. I was just as happy with Fernando, though. Still went through his delivery even!
Little bit different. Also Ruth didn't have any kind of retirement ceremony at Yankee Stadium, he went to the Braves in 1935 and they had a Babe Ruth Day not long before he died in the late 1940's. Gehrig was dying and they had a special moment for him that was not planned btw, he wasn't even going to speak. This thing was way over the top and then to have good, but not great players in Fernando and Yeager actually throw out the first pitch was anticlimactic. I mean where is Koufax? Hershiser? and I know Piazza isn't on good terms with the Dodgers, but you could have done a lot better than Steve Yeager.
Wow, what great memories. Vin Scully, Fernando & Steve Yeager. Take me back to that great 1981 season when Fernandomania was at it' height & we beat those dang Yankees after losing twice in a row to them in the 1977 & 1978 season.

In Detroit we had a really good one in Ernie Harwell but I bow to Mr. Scully as the best ever
This is the reason why this game is magical.

My mom remembered hearing Vin Scully call games as a kid in 1950's Los Angeles....I remember him for decades...and im in my 30's...what a legend
Vin was just the best. I remember watching this and it still ranks as a special moment in baseball. True baseball fans recognized just how special this was.
What a LEGEND.
The best broadcaster ever.
first 8 starts... all complete games... 5 shutouts.... all at 19 years old... that's absolutely bonkers!!!
It was so awesome in person.....my childhood all in one opening pitch!!!!!
Rest in Peace Vin. My great grandfather listen to you, my grandfather listened to you, my dad listened to you and now i listened to your voice. Thank you

Almost made me shed a tear. A man near the end of his life saying one last farewell to his fans.
Rest easy Vinny. LA was lucky to have you and your legacy will live on forever 💙. Rest easy “wherever you may be”
It’s time for Dodger baseball!
As good as it gets. Truly, a class act.

Vin Scully is such a legend!!! Scully will live on forever
May he rest in peace, we were robbed this year but the blue crew and everyone knew were the real champs
God bless Vin, Yeager, & Fernando!!!!
G.O.A.T. 🐐
Fernando aged pretty darn gracefully too I must say....
God bless Vin Scully!
I'm not a Dodgers fan or even a sports fan in general, but this video really made me smile. Van scully has such a beautiful soul.

And still going at 91.
The best sportscaster in any sports ever. What a great opening to game 2.
Vin Scully... What a treasure!
The Dodgers have been very lucky to have Vin Scully as their commentator for 66 years. Vin Scully's love and gratitude to the game of baseball is absolutely amazing.
Lifelong Dbacks fan here, love everything about this, what a moment
When ever legends walk in field it's very special game

I'm an Astros fan - this was AWESOME. Love Vin Scully and Fernando Valenzuela. Superb opening to a classic game.
rosskolnikov great game 2 last night
I wish the Rangers had an announcer that was this great. Ours are at best mediocre, as well as biased at times.
No first pitch will ever top this!
Marissa Cameron Bush at Yankee Stadium is pretty close
I've never liked the Dodgers ever but I love Vin Scully, even when my heart was breaking with the "behind the bag" call in game 6 in '86...He was best at what he did and this moment was absolute gold...
Goat 🐐
DaRealJFlight1 this is not shitcago bro..
57 and crying over here.... Always win for Vin!
FROM A ROCKIES FAN LEGEND!!!!! ONLY TIME I WOULD LISTEN TO THE AWAY BROADCAST. INCREDIBLE HUMAN!
Hi Dodgers fans. I'm from Philly. We had Harry Kalas, and you have Vin Scully. I have great respect for both of them And, you also have one of our fan favorites of all time, Chase Utley. Congratulations LA
You can have him back.
Theo...Vin sits in a group of only him at the top of greatest announcers, your guy Harry though was in that next group. VINNY THE MOTHAFUCKEN MAN
I'll be honest, when Vinny called for a left-hander, I thought it was going to be Sandy Koufax. I was just as happy with Fernando, though. Still went through his delivery even!
Those dislikes must be Astro fans. God bless you Vin Scully!!!
We should ask Vin Scully to broadcast a game for the world series 👍⚾️🏆
Did anyone else think Kershaw would come out?
I thought it was going to be Koufax.
IT'S TIME FOR DODGER BASEBALL.
Rest In Peace vin, enjoy your curtain call ❤️
What a f***ing MOMENT!!!
Admit it. When Vinny was asking for a lefty we all were looking in the dugout for Koufax.
Spahny1 Koufax is in his 80s. Don't think he's as mobile anymore.
As an Indians fan, I gotta say that was a great first pitch ceremony. ⚾
Astros fan here... this was amazing
Edwin Noria...Fox Sport 4 ...Good Game...Dodgers...Texas With you
Vin is a legend, but this was one of the most bizarre things I've seen in a while at a ball game. Only in L.A.
It's like Babe Ruth retiring at Yankee stadium...or Lou Gehrig "luckiest man on the face of the Earth" speech...for us Dodgers fans anyway
Yep. Cried again.
GO BLUUUUUUUUUUUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Got this from twitter....but its true.... Vin Scully is still better at what he does than you are at what you do and he doesn't even do it anymore
Love you Vince sculls won a cry
Wow, what great memories. Vin Scully, Fernando & Steve Yeager. Take me back to that great 1981 season when Fernandomania was at it' height & we beat those dang Yankees after losing twice in a row to them in the 1977 & 1978 season.
Viva la Los Angeles!
From first pitch to last out. This was one of the best games I’ve ever seen. Let’s hope we get 5 more like it! Go dodgers!
Who disliked this?!!
This was a great moment. But it was an even better moment watching the Astros take Game 2.
Fernanado uses Just For Men.
Fernando merece el honor de que el equipo retiré el numero 34, se lo ganó a pulso, esto no sería un obsequió, simplemente sería justicia.

I thought this was awesome and I'm a Astros fan. I remember growing up with Game of the Week on NBC with him and Joe Garagiola.
Who thought Sandy was going to come out ?
