- Since it's been over 10 years I decided to try playing Oni again.
Keep in mind that I suck at this game so don't expect much.
I found a website with some fans of the game who are modifying it.
I added quite a few of their projects into the game to try out.

The sound her shoe makes is nostalgic. It's one of the thing I remember the most from this game😂
I whould pay full price for a new oni on ps4 this was a one of my favorite games

this game was fun and quite detailed, i remember when you actually could stomp worms crawling on the floor, you could see stains after you squished them with your shoe lol, something similiar to MGS ice melting which was innovating back in the day.
In Half Life 1 you could also stomp insects and they would leave stains on the floor. Individual worms that float in water could also be killed and sank to the floor.

I absolutely hate it how using anniversary edition automatically unlocks all moves! I think this ruins most of the game! I love anniversary edition, but this pretty much ruins it! Is there any way I can use mods without this problem?

I just installed the AE-edition but I don't get the same textures you have. why is that? I've got the same version but also the main menu of the game looks different

I dont know about this one. I played it few hours and ONI seems to be cool, but over all the only great thing about this game is the fighting system. The most downfall are the levels, they are sooo dull, boring and empty..... The weapons are also basic, i see so much wasted potencial in this game. it also has some framerate issues on bigger levels. You can compare this game a little bit, to Fighting Force 2 for PSX relased in 2000. This game was also based on Malee fighting combined with weapon using, though its fighting system wasnt so complex as it is in ONI, everything else was done so much better. The levels were much more interesting. It featured destructable environments and much more. You could literally destroy everything in exhange for points. In other words FF 2 was more enyoing to play, than ONI and it was relased year before ONI on PSX.
Yeah man all these "warehouse" type blocky levels murdered this game's atmosphere, but it still has a peculiar charm and engaging gameplay.
