Another 80s classic, Spandau Ballet were one of my favourite bands when i was at high school. It says this song was no 1 for 4 weeks, it's a great song and Tony Hadley has a great voice. When Lilly reacts to all these songs i noticed she always fully concentrates on the video, it's amazing to watch because i remember when i was a kid i was too easily distracted and would be looking all around the room or something. I was 20 in 1983 and my girlfriend (who i later married) loved and adored Spandau Ballet and the old green monster in me got very jealous indeed. So much so i hated this record back then. Now over 40 years later, i have to concede this is one of the greatest songs ever written and a deserved UK number 1. I have nothing but admiration for it now. Just found your channel. Subbed.
I didn't like Spandau Ballet either, I was brought up on Glam Rock where the artists came on stage wearing outrageous outfits, and then along come this boring lot wearing suits. I got there in the end though.
This is the song all the lads waited for at the local dance so they could have a smooch with the girl of their fancy. Good reactions never boring Lilly's knowledge is amazing for such a young girl looking forward to the next one.
Loved your reaction together. It brought back memories when my son would listen and ask questions about the songs. He grew to be very astute over the years. The next "phase" was when he was in high school and I started to take him to the rock concerts and club shows that I wanted to see and thought he might enjoy. HE DID! I'm 71, he's 40 and even today, he will call ( he lives in a different state) and we share what bands/music that we have heard lately. The best complement he ever paid me was at a club show and I asked him "are you embarrassed going to a show with your dad?", he responded "no, because I know that you more than the crowd knows about the band and the music they play". I've been a music junkie since I was in high school in the mid 60s.
I sit with my grand daughter and play music on You Tube. She's just turning 3. So far she's fascinated with what she sees and hears. I'm glad to introduce her to music from my era.
The first thing I remember doing with Lilly is sitting her on my lap when she was about 9 months old and showing her the Teletubbies. She was glued to the screen, I don't think she had seen so many different bright colours before.

Hi Steve. I love Lilly's enthusiasm for the hits of years gone by. She is always cheerful and inquisitive and as the christmas quizes demonstrate she is great at remembering the songs you've introduced her too. Which is why I was surprised that Lily didn't seem to remember this one (you uploaded Lilly's original reaction on 12/11/22). To be fair I'd forgotten I'd watched it, too. It was only cos I searched "Lilly reaction true" (or similar) that both videos came up! You're not the first reactor I've noticed react to the same song twice so these things happen, unfortunately - though it was amusing that the reaction that got recommended as the video came to an end was "the same old song" lol. I nearly replied to the U2 video the other day - until I realised I wasn't signed in! That video got me thinking how nice it would be to see Lilly react to some of Live Aid (including U2's Bad). I've seen your I Don't Like Monday's video so I know you've explained a little about that to her. The concert is 40 next year: it might be nice to react to some of it nearer the time with Katie watching, too. I know you like to feature reactions to songs that most other reactors don't, but that is true of so much of Live Aid - hardly anybody looks beyond the Queen set. I won't pick out any highlights as there are so many and you know what you and Lilly enjoy, except to draw attention to one I love and think Lilly might too - Norway's contribution "All of Us". Thanks for sharing Lilly's musical journey of discovery with us. Keep up the good work!
Blimey Colin you are correct, I've got a folder with every video we've ever uploaded to UA-cam, and another much smaller one with our videos that got blocked. I've even numbered the videos, and sure enough number 49 in my folder is True, by Spandau Ballet, and so is number 145, this latest one. I had no idea I had already shown it to her, but I will at least try and explain why she didn't remember it. We listen to songs in my van when I take Lilly and Katie swimming, and what I would like to do is rotate a lot of the songs we've reacted to, so that she gets to hear all of the songs multiple times, but lately this hasn't been happening so much, one reason is because I can only remember about half of them, and the other reason is because Lilly and Katie now know what songs they want to play. Mama wear all crazee now gets played to death, we hear Bad Moon Rising a lot, and at the moment it's Abracadabra, Fire Brigade and Give a little bit. A lot of the other songs just aren't seeing the light of day on our 2 mile trip to the swimming pool. I do play her some of the songs we've reacted to at home too, but because we've now done about 170 reactions, a few are getting missed out. If we did a quiz today, she might struggle with quite a few, so your post has reminded me that I have to keep playing some of the other songs to her, because as I've always said, I don't want her to hear these songs once and forget them. Finally though, now that you have pointed it out, I don't like having two reactions up to the same song, I'm a bit disappointed that that has happened, and one may have to go.
One other thing, I'm having problems with UA-cam allowing the comments when it's just me and Lilly, but when I brink Katie in too, things get twice as bad, which is why Katie has taken a bit of a back seat recently. I've started another channel called Lilly and Katie just for kids, and no comments will be allowed on that, but as yet, I've not uploaded anything to it.

It's not that she watches the videos often, we play the songs in my van whenever I pick the girls up from school, or take them to swimming.
