- With the changing of Early Times recently we decided that we needed to crown a new king of the budget whiskies for us. We asked our Facebook group what they thought was the best budget bottle and then blinded the top four answers. Lets see how it all pans out.

Love your WW videos, I'd say Knob Creek 9 and WT 101 could have easily been part of the line up as well.
The crowd should be ashamed of themselves for not replacing EHT with one of those two....shame!

Walked into Binny's last night, and the EH Taylor Small Batch was sitting right there at retail, along with Eagle Rare and Weller Special Reserve. This has literally never happened to me in whiskey life.

Just purchased a bottle of the 1792 BiB recently and really liked it. I also like the Knob Creek 9 that they said both of them don't like.

I wouldn’t say no to any of these. Love em all, especially at that price. One could easily argue for WT 101 to be in the mix. Kinda surprised it took so long for a bottle to break, TBH.

Have all 4 of these as well as th KC9. EHT is my favorite, but refused to vote for it in the poll because I've never seen it below 50. Of the 4 that should have been in the blind, the 1792 is far and away my top. Fantastic pour.

Coopers’ Craft is one of my personal favorites. Hate to see it came in last. Guess I need to pick up a bottle of the others!
I've typically loved the Cooper's Craft 100 as well, finished two bottles quickly after buying them. I got a new one recently, dunno if its just a funky bottle or a bad batch, but it came of waaaaaay way more grain youth forward that what I remember
If you’re including EHT, you should have WT Kentucky spirit and 4R Single Barrel. Both are ~$45 and fantastic pours also. Cheers!
Just had the coopercraft 100 in my last tasting, solid pour for the price. I would like to try it blind and compare it to the old forester
KC 9Yr 100 Proof is just over $40 in my state, but would have definitely been on my list. And I would have rounded down and put WT in the mix too 😉
That look Dan gave the camera 2:31 gave me Laurel & Hardy vibes. Ollie used to give that look when Stan was up to his antics.
I am glad that you mentioned in the video that if EH Taylor was not present then KC9 would have been its replacement.
Before covid I was buying the small batch for 50. After covid it shot up to 100. So if there are still people finding it for under 40..?!?! Count your blessings people.
It's odd that the EH Taylor is the only one of these sold in Ontario, Canada. It only shows up once or twice a year (and sells out very fast), but none of the others is available here. The 1792 is offered via allocation, but it's a lotto. Only OF is the 86 here.

Glad to hear so many positive things for OF100. Other than it's value, there's nothing "amazing" about it, however, there's also absolutely nothing bad or off about it. I'll always have a bottle on my shelf.
American Whiskey had OF 100 as the Kentucky Bourbon of the year for 2022. It’s good but bourbon of the year🤔🤷🏻♂️

And it's the next day. I went and got a bottle of the Old Forester 100. I can't get the 1792 BIB locally... I might say, the OF100 is pretty damn drinkable next to most of my stash. Thanks for the lead!

Fish eggs were an interesting note to me. I poured some Larceny BP the other day, not the first pour from the bottle, and it had a weird sorta fishy note that made me pour it out. It didn't taste like it went bad or spoiled or whatever, but it was not good.
I’m with you. Larceny is not something I will buy again.

It’s just hard to beat 1792 for the money in my opinion! It’s just consistent good! I think it tastes more expensive than it is!
1792 BIB is impossible to find here in NC as well unfortunately for us. The Knob 120 store picks are starting to pop up again in the neighboring states so i have been gathering those up to stock pile. but that is an under $60 video :)
I drink C all the time. D is in a different class IMHO since I’ve never seen it under $75. I’ve never heard of B and won’t try it anytime soon. I’ve had different 1792, so I will try the BIB. Thanks for sharing. I don’t FaceBook, but Bibb & Tucker is $50 but drinks like $80 with a crushability of 100%. Final note, I hate rye spice, so that skews my preference. I wish we had a rye scale to use like IBU with beer.

I just finished a bottle of Cooper’s, OF100 and Woodford. I prefer the Woodford.

EHT and 1792 BIB are about the same rarity for my area...I don't see either anymore although I got an EHT for $36 about 8-9 months ago!
I loved E.H. Taylor for years when it was available and $40, that was my staple, but those days are long gone dudes! It's now allocated and $80-$100 minimum if you can find it. Some stores make you buy a second bottle of something you don't want, just for the privilege of buying E.H.!!!

Also not a huge KC fan here. Kira is, I'm not. The only KC products I've had of late that I do like is ADHD's pick, and the KC 15 year. Conversely I'm not a big fan of KC SIBs 120 proofs or KC 12 year.
EHT SmB is actually easier for me to find than 1792 BiB. OF100 is one of the most overlooked bottles out here, and it's only $22. I like Cooper's Craft but there's something unpleasant to me about the finish.
Look I’m in the Facebook group and I wouldn’t poll them on the best way to keep breathing. EH Taylor being included in this is utterly ridiculous. I know it’s not your guy’s fault, but sheesh.

Maybe Michigan has better prices than we have in Florida. The 1792 is not near 40 where I am and neither is the E.H.Taylor. Its around 140.. I am still going to buy it though lol.

Love the bottle flip fail and the review. As a Watch collector I had to comment on the Watch Gang video sponsorship. WG inflates MSRP for value and you end up with a bunch of poorly made junk watches. Buying some Chinese watches off of AliExpress is a better option than Watch Gang.

Obviously I'm the only one in the facebook group that lives in, NY. Under $50? Maybe? Last bottle of EHT (yes have gotten lucky) was $54.99. Agree on the orders though, very good bottles for the money.
The Cabo Caterpillar must have scared Dan a little too much. Only reason he misses that flip.

EC small batch, buffalo trace, woodford wheat, makers 101. Also very good options for this list

EH Taylor is 145 euros here. All other bourbons are well priced so I'm unsure whats going on with this one

That cooper is so funky and I don't remember ever thinking that. I'm not sure if it's b/c the others are morer "stereotypical" bourbon but man did the flavors stand out with 0 finish on our cooper it's really odd.

The Mash & Drum did a blind between EHTSmB and CC100 with CC100 winning out. I've had both and based on my taste buds CC100 > EHTSmB. Plus who the hell can even find EHTSmB for under $40? I think my taste buds line up a bit more with Jason vs Shaun/Dan.

Dan finally shatters a bottle and I don't care, keep flipping 'em! I did like the "it's like an $80 bottle at this point" and smirk at the camera thinking 1792 BiB was EHT. And for once living in an ABC state pays off because I currently have 6 EHT SmB that cost $39/bottle.
I got to my ABC store over 3 hours early before opening and still couldn’t get an EH Taylor Small Batch. Would love to try one!
Agreed. I’ve seen and bought dozens of bottles of eagle rare but I’ve NEVER seen an EHT in the wild. Shame on everyone who asked to include that in this tasting.

Theres a reason why certain bottles are allocated. Sure there are exceptions but most of the time they are hard to find because they punch above thier price range. They are always going to do well in scenarios like this. Ranking them blind just proves this even more.
@@brandon_sprague I was wanting coopers craft to do better since it’s on sale in my state for 30$. I haven’t picked one up yet been wanting to see a blind run down of it And it gets last place. Not hating on anything, my eht small batch bottle is my infinity bottle.
Throw out EH Taylor.. not a readily available bottle and no way readily available for under $40. Solid line up other wise. Sub out Knob Creek for EHT. Good stuff fellas!

Love your videos but wish there were no edits on whiskey wars. Always makes me think you switch your picks to not look bad, when you probably don’t. This one seemed like 1792 BIB should have won based on tasting, then it slips to third after off camera A/B.
