It's always chilled me that those trains would've been so painfully slow. 20km/h would be good going. Even relatively short distance trips could easily take tens of hours. Military trains would've had preference. Thanks for your coverage.
It is a rather strange memorial, I guess the designer had an idea, but I don’t understand the idea. The sad part about the people in the comment saying it is a lie is that any survivors of these atrocities are most likely in their 90’s or older and will not be around to be a witness to it in a few years. My heart hurts when I see these places and remember what happened there. Sadly antisemitism is alive and well in 2024. God bless and thank you for all your hard work and travel to bring us these history lessons of places I will never be able to visit.

What i wanted to say is that from my extensive reading over several decades on this subject i have concluded that it was Albert Speer that was the mist responsible.
Gitta Sereny had the last word on the deniers in the chapter "Men Who Whitewash Hitler" in her book THE HEALING WOUND. My attitude with such people in other matters is usually "ignore them and they'll go away," but with the deniers, I think it's important to call them out and ask for their evidence, cite facts and testimonials, etc relentlessly. Truth will always win in the end, but I don't mind helping it along...

I'm not sure if Speer was responsible for that or not. He never DENIED that it happened; he just denied that he knew about it.
