ABOUT ME:
Hi, I’m Sarah. I don’t just teach the boutique business model, I still actively use it every single day in my own photography business!
This stuff isn’t fluff or outdated theory. It's real life. 24 years, a New York Times bestselling book, and thousands of clients later, you could say I know my way around a photography studio (a 12,000 square foot studio with its own volleyball court, in fact!)
I'm in a cornfield in Central Illinois. If I can do it, you can, too!
After working as a marketing director at a top regional ad agency, and in marketing at Coca-Cola Enterprises, I decided something had to give if I wanted to spend more time with my young family. I opened my first photography studio 2 weeks before 9-11, as the economy fell apart, with 3 kids under 3 years old (busy mamas, I see you). I quickly discovered that my newfound photography business was eating up all my time and mental energy (sound familiar?) I was on the verge of burnout, unsure how to make a real profit using a broken business model where I was giving it all away
It wasn’t until I married my skill for marketing with my knack for photography that everything changed.
By turning my work into heirloom-quality wall art my clients cherished forever.
I got my life back and showed up to work each day as the best version of myself. And guess what? My dream clients and family both benefited.
Now I serve hundreds of my own clients and teach students like you how to market your business and get dreamboat clients who happily invest thousands for your custom artwork (wall art, books, albums, etc).
If I can do it from my studio in the middle of a cornfield in Central Illinois, you can do it anywhere.
And the best part is, you don’t even need a studio.

I tried to do photography a few years ago but there was a lot that was in my way. I’m much more determined now but while I have a REP as a photographer, I feel like I am still starting over from scratch.

Just starting. Dance photography.
I beat myself up alot, in fact I have been depressed because my job takes up 40 hours of my time which I could be using to promote my photography. When I lack motivation and creativity I don't feel like myself. Therefore, I plan on quitting my 9-5 next month to take a risk with photography. Planning callabs, working on my website, etc. Content like this is great, Id love for you to be my mentor, thatd be cool. Love from NJ!! Keep uploading !

In regards to the question you asked: I started in May of 2023 and have so far only made $2000 shooing about 10-15 clients. I’m looking for ways to make this a profitable business full time one day (if possible). Or maybe combining it with some other online business that goes hand in hand
You need to raise your rates!! Maybe you're at the point of needing to build a portfolio. Look at making $1000 a day in mini sessions and bigger clients who can pay more. Weddings can fetch 5k just giving the bride images. Or you can blow your money on a photo school like the one this woman is selling, in a round about way, in the video. Good luck!!
