Deborah Jin's lab at UCB Bolder, Colorado, managed produced a condensate out of fermionic atoms [2003]. The experiment involved 500,000 potassium-40 atoms cooled to a temperature of 5×10−8 K, subjected to a time-varying magnetic field. (Wiki) Just one amusing observation from a duel physicist-metaphysicist is that young scientists, including these brilliant men, don't always tap into the higher mind level above programmed human consciousness as to reflect creatively upon the Big Picture relationships of materiality, known field energies, mind and consciousness. We disagree. The whole "all motion is relative" thing is easily disproved. Consider the difference between the Moon in orbit around the Earth would "look" the same as earth spinning and the moon sitting in one place. Centrifugal force easily distinguishes which motion is "real" and which is simply relative motion.
@@unitedspacepirates9075 plot twist: both of them are orbiting the sun mind blown actually, how do you measure distance, let alone motion of an object without a point to measure it from? Also, how do you get a static point meanwhile pretty much everything is constantly moving? So for a practical example, let's say you are leaning forward to open a door and someone slaps the door in your face. now did you headbang the door, or did the other dude slap you with the door? You could say that the other dude was at fault, because you could see the door moving towards you, but that would may not be 100% true. Of course you could have like a CCTV camera recording what happened, but hey, that's relative to the camera's point of view. If we look at it from let's say the Sun, and the Earth just happens to move in the same direction as you, it's clear that the door didn't move in the opposite direction, just slowed down a bit. but that's the Sun's point of view. The supermassive black hole in the center of our galaxy might see the whole solar system moving in the door's direction. But that's just this black hole's point of view. And it goes on and on and on. And relative motion has nothing to do with "centrifugal" forces or gravity or anything really, it's just a fact that you can't have motion that's not relative
@@unitedspacepirates9075 actually in that case it doesn't matter. since you're looking at the relative motion between only the earth and the moon, there's no reason why the observation that the earth orbits the moon would be incorrect. It's only when you add in another reference point that the distinction becomes clear

For anyone wondering about how or why cooling the atoms amplifies their wave nature, it has to do with the heisenberg uncertainty principle. As a particle's position is more precisely defined, it's momentum is less definable and vice versa. That isn't just a statement about our measurement techniques, but about how the universe works on a fundamental subatomic level. A quantum wave function is a probabilistic thing, but while uncollapsed (not forced into definition in a macroscopic system or intuitive way), the wave functions of different particles interfere, interact, and in the case of a Bose-Einstein condensate effectively merge. Basically by cooling something to near absolute zero, you're defining its momentum to be more and more precisely close to zero. The heisenberg uncertainty principle tells us that the position becomes proportionally less precisely known/defined. This means that the wave functions of these atoms effectively "blur" in position since their momentums are so precisely controlled, making strange quantum interactions happen between them and forming the exotic state of matter known as a Bose-Einstein condensate.
How unprecise does its position become as you approach absolute 0? Is there a limit? Does that limit approach infinity? Is there a way to do the opposite, i.e. define the position more and more accurately and watch the momentum increase? What is the limit on momentum?
@@jimbert50 the uncertainty of position is inversely proportional to the uncertainty of momentum. So if the position was absolutely defined, the uncertainty of momentum would be infinite.

It is more the de Brodglie relation between a particles momentum and it's de Broglie wavelength. But on the other hand that relation is very closely related to the uncertainty principle.

At absolute 0 the wave would be represented by a pure sine wave, so that its position would be equally probable across all of space. to better visualize the uncertainty principle, we can take shaking a rope as an example. If you shake one end of a rope continually, you will clearly see at what pace the rope vibrates. This is wavelength, so energy, so momentum. But, you can't see where the wave is. Now, if you shake it once to give it a pulse you will find a "hump" moving on the rope. You couldn't tell its wavelength, but you could tell where it is. Since particles are also waves, they act the same way.

I’ve always loved the fact that the building blocks of everything we know share the same name as myself. And we still achieved all these miraculous scientific experiments when we still cannot explain gravity, quantum mechanics and Einstein do not jive, it’s almost like a different set of rules for the micro world going against everything we know in the physical world

This is the only thing I'm curious for in my life, all other things became boring to me, I'm not sure if I'm ever going to have a family, I have sex occasionally because it makes me feel human and refreshes me temporarily, other than that the only reason I'm ok with living is science and technology.
Astronauts already have a terribly hard time getting any real sleep because of the microgravity on the ISS, so if there's always someone awake while you're trying to sleep, you wouldn't get any sleep at all.
I wonder if astronauts also wake up from the "falling sensation" when trying to fall asleep. I mean technically theyre always falling, but on the other hand they feel no up or down.
The simplest answer is that there are things we just don't know yet, which, as they are introduced, change our Fundamental understanding of every previous observation. That is the Heart of Science.

When an atom or molecule is cooled to near absolute zero it’s magnetic permeability is also near zero. When this occurs the matter (coherent energy) magnetic-dielectric dynamo is at its lowest dynamic state. What does this mean? It means that the frozen matter is a near perfect magnetic field reflector. Therefor the inherent dielectric acceleration is no longer impeded or rather geometrically altered by magnetism. To put it another way the magnetic torus of each atom has little to no influence on the incoming dielectric. In essence the dielectric centripetal hyperboloid flattens out instead of being more of a funnel shape. This flattening of the converging dielectric into a plane rather than hyperboloid (funnel) allows us to observe the matter in a totally different perspective because of the drastic change in its magneto-dielectric geometry. We are in essence observing how fluctuations of converging dielectric appears on a plane rather than converging in as a funnel. Since the matter particles are frozen the incoming dielectric takes substantially more time to charge enough to cause electrification which results in a discharge of a magnetic field. Once there is a discharge of the magnetic field the magnetic geometry of that particle resumes it’s previous shape. What is most likely observed as bosons is the planar geometry of the centripetal converging dielectric without any influence of magnetic fields. Gravity is the increase of inertia of the converging dielectric of all matter particles. All matter particles are inherently attracted to each others converging dielectric and not each other. What is occurring is that matter (coherent energy) is a high pressure region that seeks stability by flowing to a low pressure region. This low pressure is focused to the ‘center’ of each atom where the convergent dielectric transfers back into counter-space (Ether). @@RR-gr1ni it's not a gas, but it's also not a plasma. It's a Bose-Eisntein condensate, a completely different state of matter from the two. It is defined by the merging/overlapping of quantum wave functions of the atoms, I think. It's not ionized like a plasma, so it's not a cold plasma. You're correct that although it is made from a gas of atoms that it's also not a gas!
I wish! It's an exotic state of matter, not exotic matter (scientists are bad at naming things lol). It is just a state of matter not found in nature, and although it does have some fascinating and strange properties, it's not the "exotic matter" referred to in discussions of warp drive theories, it doesn't make an opposite curvature in spacetime.

There is way more than 5 states of matter... I'm a condensed matter physicist which involves studying phase transitions. Superconductivity is a phase of matter, ferromagnetism is, there is a spin density wave phase, polymerization is a phase, etc.

Consider the difference between the Moon in orbit around the Earth would "look" the same as earth spinning and the moon sitting in one place. Centrifugal force easily distinguishes which motion is "real" and which is simply relative motion.

actually, how do you measure distance, let alone motion of an object without a point to measure it from? Also, how do you get a static point meanwhile pretty much everything is constantly moving?
So for a practical example, let's say you are leaning forward to open a door and someone slaps the door in your face. now did you headbang the door, or did the other dude slap you with the door? You could say that the other dude was at fault, because you could see the door moving towards you, but that would may not be 100% true. Of course you could have like a CCTV camera recording what happened, but hey, that's relative to the camera's point of view. If we look at it from let's say the Sun, and the Earth just happens to move in the same direction as you, it's clear that the door didn't move in the opposite direction, just slowed down a bit. but that's the Sun's point of view. The supermassive black hole in the center of our galaxy might see the whole solar system moving in the door's direction. But that's just this black hole's point of view. And it goes on and on and on. And relative motion has nothing to do with "centrifugal" forces or gravity or anything really, it's just a fact that you can't have motion that's not relative

It's only when you add in another reference point that the distinction becomes clear

For anyone wondering about how or why cooling the atoms amplifies their wave nature, it has to do with the heisenberg uncertainty principle. As a particle's position is more precisely defined, it's momentum is less definable and vice versa. That isn't just a statement about our measurement techniques, but about how the universe works on a fundamental subatomic level. A quantum wave function is a probabilistic thing, but while uncollapsed (not forced into definition in a macroscopic system or intuitive way), the wave functions of different particles interfere, interact, and in the case of a Bose-Einstein condensate effectively merge.
Basically by cooling something to near absolute zero, you're defining its momentum to be more and more precisely close to zero. The heisenberg uncertainty principle tells us that the position becomes proportionally less precisely known/defined. This means that the wave functions of these atoms effectively "blur" in position since their momentums are so precisely controlled, making strange quantum interactions happen between them and forming the exotic state of matter known as a Bose-Einstein condensate.
How unprecise does its position become as you approach absolute 0? Is there a limit? Does that limit approach infinity? Is there a way to do the opposite, i.e. define the position more and more accurately and watch the momentum increase? What is the limit on momentum?

It is more the de Brodglie relation between a particles momentum and it's de Broglie wavelength. But on the other hand that relation is very closely related to the uncertainty principle.

At absolute 0 the wave would be represented by a pure sine wave, so that its position would be equally probable across all of space. to better visualize the uncertainty principle, we can take shaking a rope as an example. If you shake one end of a rope continually, you will clearly see at what pace the rope vibrates. This is wavelength, so energy, so momentum. But, you can't see where the wave is. Now, if you shake it once to give it a pulse you will find a "hump" moving on the rope. You couldn't tell its wavelength, but you could tell where it is. Since particles are also waves, they act the same way.

Astronauts already have a terribly hard time getting any real sleep because of the microgravity on the ISS, so if there's always someone awake while you're trying to sleep, you wouldn't get any sleep at all.
I wonder if astronauts also wake up from the "falling sensation" when trying to fall asleep. I mean technically theyre always falling, but on the other hand they feel no up or down.

When an atom or molecule is cooled to near absolute zero it’s magnetic permeability is also near zero. When this occurs the matter (coherent energy) magnetic-dielectric dynamo is at its lowest dynamic state.
What does this mean?
It means that the frozen matter is a near perfect magnetic field reflector. Therefor the inherent dielectric acceleration is no longer impeded or rather geometrically altered by magnetism.
To put it another way the magnetic torus of each atom has little to no influence on the incoming dielectric. In essence the dielectric centripetal hyperboloid flattens out instead of being more of a funnel shape. This flattening of the converging dielectric into a plane rather than hyperboloid (funnel) allows us to observe the matter in a totally different perspective because of the drastic change in its magneto-dielectric geometry.
We are in essence observing how fluctuations of converging dielectric appears on a plane rather than converging in as a funnel.
Since the matter particles are frozen the incoming dielectric takes substantially more time to charge enough to cause electrification which results in a discharge of a magnetic field. Once there is a discharge of the magnetic field the magnetic geometry of that particle resumes it’s previous shape.
What is most likely observed as bosons is the planar geometry of the centripetal converging dielectric without any influence of magnetic fields.
Gravity is the increase of inertia of the converging dielectric of all matter particles. All matter particles are inherently attracted to each others converging dielectric and not each other. What is occurring is that matter (coherent energy) is a high pressure region that seeks stability by flowing to a low pressure region.
This low pressure is focused to the ‘center’ of each atom where the convergent dielectric transfers back into counter-space (Ether). This is what we a re taught to believe as magnetic attraction but that is a misnomer. Magnetism or rather magnetic fields repel only.

It is defined by the merging/overlapping of quantum wave functions of the atoms, I think. It's not ionized like a plasma, so it's not a cold plasma. You're correct that although it is made from a gas of atoms that it's also not a gas!

That movie turned out to be interesting... until they dropped the explanation with BECs... I immediately stopped watching it. It did hurt the physicist inside me. So much wrong in that movie (thats what you get , when you do not have a science advisor present...)
