She could be ginger if she inherited both recessive genes from her parents. How it works is there is a dominant and recessive gene that the kid inherits from the parents (there called sex-linked genes). The parents both got dominant traits but they also got recessive traits. If you are heterozygous (have dominant and recessive traits) the dominant will mask the recessive trait and not appear in the offspring. However, if the two mate and pass on the two recessive traits, (which is a 25% according to a punnet square) then the offspring will have two recessive traits gaining the recessive phenotype.
