Signs in English are limited. Most of the tourists are foreigners and don't know English. Special signs similar to international road signs could probably be more useful.

Again the guards do not get paid enough to do this. Combat pay isn't enough. People do not grab the reins or feed the horse.

For the safety of horse and people, a 2 metre distance should be applied. I believe that it has reached the point where there is very little caution, and in some cases respect.There should also be sign with picture that everyone understands.
I seen. She is a very ignorant woman & she really should have been spoken to about that by the guard or one of the police officers that patrol around these guard's.
I hope it was addressed off camera , but the standard need not be absolute. My city has a couple of horse patrols during the summer months and I bring the dropped apples from the trees in my back yard for to take with me during my lunch break outside and have fed those horses that the officer consents to , same with the small carriage company’s horse

Why not just have a twenty foot semicircle painted on the ground that people aren't allowed to cross? The guard and the horse would be much less stressed.

This guard was very polite. I couldn’t hear him instruct the tourist to let go of the reins. Normally, a stupid tourist that grabs hold of the reins will very definitely get yelled at. This guard was very restrained and controlled. And yes, as someone else has quite rightly pointed out, that woman fed the horse something. I think it is that which got the horse a little agitated. That is strictly not permitted. Clearly the guard didn’t notice.

If you’re going to stroke the horse, remember, it’s not a kitty cat or a gerbal. Those soft brushes of the tips of its fur or nose feels to a horse like irritating flies. Stroke the horse with confidence. Remember , when it’s being brushed and combed, how it enjoys the rough bristles of the brush.

I would love to know how the horses are trained. For example, many horses prefer to smell a person first before that person touches the horse. I think that in relation to police dog training, they take the puppy into public areas and have members of the public pet the dog so that the dog becomes accustomed to people touching it.
I think that most of the horses are very patient and have great temperaments.

This soldier did a great job. Actually, you often hear soldiers begin with a quiet ask before getting to the shout. Lucky she didn't see the idiot actually FEEDING the horse just after. Really working hard to be calm and communicate calm to a thoroughly irritated horse. You see the soldier sighing a couple of times. I bet she was thinking that shift would just never end. Great to hear someone at the very end say: 'Thank you for your service.' Indeed.

Feeding ANYTHING to horse should not be allowed. Safety and security is too important.

Those horses are well-behaved, considering their sense of smell must be assaulted at a high rate. And their skin is so sensitive they feel a fly land on them, so this assault on their senses must be intense.

For all the comments here about don't do this, don't do that. Horses need stimulation and socialization. They are highly intelligent, sensitive creatures and having to stand for any length of time without stimulation it is torture. It also keeps the horse from freaking out at every little thing. As for all of the tourists, as irritating as it can be, they generate more than 5 million pounds a year to experience these attractions. Tourists keep the Monarchy and the Kings guard relevant and employed and this guy's UA-cam channel that you are watching is monetized, so he is making money off it too.
