Survive: Bitten by a snake high on the mountains! Overnight in tent deep in the wilderness

- This video is about a 24 hour trip high in the mountains!
I was bitten by a snake while gathering wood for my fire. Then the panic really kicks in the adrenaline goes HIGH and I thought that was it for me because I was very far away and very high in the mountains and I had no network to contact anyone.
I lay down to calm down. If you are stressed, the snake venom will spread faster in the body!
I started to lose strength and my blood sugar sucked, luckily I always have something sweet with me, I ate and my circulation was stable again after a few hours!
This means that it was a dry bite without poison, she just felt disturbed and bit me as a warning!
I WAS VERY LUCKY. NORMALLY I WEAR LEGGINGS THAT DAY I WEARED NONE!
THAT'S WHY I ALWAYS WEAR MY LEGGINGS IN THE SUMMER TO AVOID THIS SITUATION!!
I didn't interrupt my trip because I felt better!
and so i spent the night there and the next day i went home!
It was a shocking experience but thank god everything went well!

I'm happy to know you're alright. Snake bites, even when not venomous, can cause infection and can get nasty. Do you know what kind of snake it was that bit you?
Bonny has really tamed down it seems, she's 2 now isn't she. How are all the pups?

Man, what a nightmare scenario! I'm glad you got lucky this time, but this is a great example of why even the most experienced outdoorsman must always take the necessary precautions. Mother Nature is unforgiving at times!

Glad that it was just a dry bite Kostas! Greece has 4 types of vipers and being as far from help as you usually are, it could have turned out badly!
It's the younger snakes that haven't learned to regulate how much venom is injected that are the worse!

Also glad to see you remained calm and then went to the hospital to have checked out! I did notice you didn’t wear your gators, which I found a bit usual. In the description box you mentioned that you forgot them! I’m sure lesson has been learned! Main thing is that you are ok!!! Btw, do you still have Bonnie’s puppies or have they been adopted out? Whew...what luck, thank God. My male dog Dingo, who looks a lot like your Bonny, got bit in the face by a timber rattler. It almost got me too, but my female dog Minnie saved me from stepping into it's strike range. Within 5 minutes, Dingo was laid out, limp as a noodle, foaming at the mouth, and other unmentionables. He got hit with a full dose of venom. Luckily, I was able to get him to the vet within 30 mins. Wasn't easy loading a 100 lb dog into my car after just having arm surgery. Anyhow, next day he was good as gold. Not a fun experience, and I can only imagine how it hurt getting bit in the face.
