- Kalki 2898 AD is a 2024 Indian Telugu-language epic science fiction film directed by Nag Ashwin. Inspired by Hindu scriptures, it is the first installment in a planned Kalki Cinematic Universe. Set in a post-apocalyptic world in the year 2898 AD, the film follows a select group on a mission to save Kalki, the unborn child of SUM-80, a lab subject.

Kamal Hasan is shown for only a few minutes but he really rocked i think. I am not a fan of him but after watching kalki i think nobody could potray that role better than him. Prabhas acting is so pathetic. His eyes look like he just woke up from bed.

If Kamal Hassan in this movie can be made to look like that, then Amitabh B can be made to look like a superhuman too. It is his "face value" that matters more than anything else. @@pkoppart As a VFX artist, i feel pity for the ignorant people about this field. They think everything can be achieved through VFX. And this mindset leads to CGI being used for all wrong purposes which causes wastage of precious time and a lot of money. Take for example that young Amitabh digital double from Kalki, which was looking like a PS1 character. Mahabharat also covers Bhishma's young life, and if Amitabh looks like that for 20-25 minutes on screen, then it would be a disaster. Now coming to the starcast, for people who haven't read the Mahabharata, obviously that star cast would look funny. The Mahabharata gives a physical description of most of its characters and that starcast is mostly as per that description. It is not your fault; it is expected of the Instagram generation to find our scriptures funny.
