My curls looks like hers and when I was younger my hair was as thick as hers if not thicker. I was made fun of so much about my hair. It didn't help my mom has very straight hair and didn't know how to handle curls so when I was a child I was never taught until I was able to look it up online. I went through years of trying to straighten it to fit in and stop the embarrassment. Because of that my hair is damaged now and I have been trying to bring back the health of my curls.

i cried when she said she just needed to lose weight with all that emotion. this whole video touched me so much. i often feel less than because of the weight ive gained during quarantine. oh, man, but when your dad came out serenading her in the yard???? i laughed so hard. i'm going to start taking care of myself again like i used to, going to try some makeup looks (just the eyes cuz i dont want maskne lol), and im going to practice loving myself because for me it's hard. thank you, curly.
I'm in my mid 40s I've had the same chongo hairstyle for about 15 years so many sacrifices and put asides for later. I just became a grandma and I have not taken many pictures with my grandbaby because I don't feel good enough. This hit me hard.

This really hit home and I needed this. For reals I keep telling myself, "After I lose some weight x, y and z. Then I'll do it" and it sucks. We put ourselves down before we even start pretty much.
But thank you to you and your family. Definitely gave me a boost. Imma go try some makeup and look cute. We got this.
Saaaame. Working from home with a 6 month old baby so but this gave me the boost to slap some makeup on and wear my cutest earrings.
Same. I used to care how I dressed and wore makeup all the time. I basically have just given up. I rarely ever wear makeup and rarely care about what I wear. It all slapped me in the face when I realized I didn't have clothes of my own and I only wore my husbands tee-shirts and sweatpants anymore. I have been trying to get out of that funk and have been slowly changing my habits.

I’ve tried to do this for my mom for some many times and she hated it every time . She always said she couldn’t be beautiful Because she was over weight . Thank you for making this video because I knew I couldn’t be the only one who’s mom lacked confidence and needed to be empowered. I love my mom and she’s scarified so much for us and I always tell her how beautiful she is. Hopefully after watching this she’ll try again

My mom wasn't confident in her body and she made sure to shame me as well. As a new mom I gotta change my mentality about me and not instill that into my daughter.
I feel you, that's continued through the generations, my grandma rest her soul, has always shamed my mom, and my mom has shamed my sister and I. Thankfully our husbands have always reminded us that we don't have to be thin to be beautiful. If we decide to lose weight, to do it for ourselves and nobody else. To also not put pressure on ourselves that we have to meet a certain number to be considered "beautiful". I hope that you never feel less than anyone. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL.
