Tatum becoming the offensive orchestrator for the Cs instead of just going for numbers is a scary proposition for the NBA going forward. If he can gets his teammates involved so you can send help to him, then him and Luka (if they both learn to relocate more) really are the next evolution in the league, the Lebron/Steph combo, 2 handed playmakers, stick you on their hip, wet J from anywhere. Booker is kind of an undersized version of that. Herro is similar. I’m sure I’m missing others.
But Luka is still ages ahead for me in terms of running an offense, but Tatum is a better defender. Tatum being off the ball more is kind of the nature of the Cs offense with Brown but Luka has had to learn how to share the offense with a couple other scorers (although their 4-8 wont contribute as many points as for the Cs, partially down to Tatum growing as a playmaker). They’re both progressing from different points.
I hadn’t thought of the prospect of that series until you mentioned it but now I’m excited for that and the future of the league. I still think it’ll be Celtics vs the Warriors, but the Cs are so tired it could easily be Warriors vs Heat.
