  • Water is life and the beginning of life. Now that the heavy flooding of the last few days here in southern Germany is slowly subsiding and the water levels of the rivers and streams are returning to normal, the first changes in the landscape are becoming apparent. New streams and ponds have emerged where there was once dry land or shoreline zones. New water areas and small streams have emerged where there were previously swamps and sandy areas. Nature in this habitat is renewing itself and new life and habitats have emerged. The protected area here in the Langenbachtal is in constant change over the course of the seasons, creating unique habitats for plants, fish, insects and amphibians.
Despite all the positive effects, in recent years there have also been negative effects in these areas after such floods. Due to commercial agriculture, which is coming ever closer to these areas with its open soil without intercropping, more and more arable soil is being carried into the streams, which is leading to silting up of the basic structures of many streams. Vital gravel layers are being compacted by the sand that is washed in, thereby destroying the place where some fish species lay their eggs. The massive introduction of fertilizers and nutrients is also having a visible impact on these habitats. For example, the river mussel, which years ago could still be found in large populations in the streams, has been severely decimated by this and the increased water temperatures. They are simply dying off. This is a development that we must monitor closely and be able to counteract in good time. Otherwise we will lose more of these wonderful, rich habitats forever.

Этот микрофон совершенно не подходит для объёмного натурального стерео по причине слишком близкого расположения капсюлей. Результат - почти полное и плоское моно....

I cannot agree with this statement from my own experience.
I have read a few comments like this and I wonder how such statements can come about.
I am sure that this is not due to tolerances in the manufacturing of this microphone, because Audio Technica is a highly professional and renowned manufacturer of audio equipment.
I have been able to make first-class recordings with the BP4025, which have produced excellent results in terms of dynamics, depth and detail.
But there are areas of application in which you can get better results with 2 microphones, provided they are of a suitable quality. However, this means a significantly higher use of materials, which is often not worth it.

      Oh, you're talking about "perfection"!
My grandmother always told me that perfection is something for gods and idiots 😉😎.
      Did you try this microphone?
What kind of knowledge and experience in field recording, audio engineering and field recording do you have instead of recording trains and cars?
And just one more simple question:
As an "experienced listener" (and producer, I think) - do you think that your recordings on your channel are better than the one in this video?
I want to make it very easy:
I am in a recording situation and I hear what the microphone and recorder are recording. And then I go into my studio and listen to the recording.
If what I then hear without any post-processing corresponds to what I heard before, without adding or omitting signals, then I agree and am far from calling this reproduction unsuitable.
I have various recorders and microphones in different price and performance classes and I have the technical means to analyze a recording.
Of course I can look for deficiencies in sound and image - but why?
It's pointless and a waste of time and life energy!
People who watch this and my channel don't want a scientific analysis, but a realistic impression of a situation in a natural scenario and perhaps enjoy what they see and hear.
For the few for whom this is not enough, other channels are available.
The microphone you are criticizing is certainly more powerful than your ears.
Because if you want perfect reproduction, you must first consider the interface with your brain.
Only when you know how your ears can reproduce the frequency spectrum can you try to compensate for the differences in an acoustically perfectly measured listening room with powerful technology.
As long as this is not the case, I would be very cautious with criticism.
The biggest obstacles are usually not in the technology, but in people.
And to me it seems that you are just one of the countless persons out there who is talking about something without real experience and knowledge.
You read something and you saw something on UA-cam or wherever and now you think you are able to make "clever" comments on something that you are not even have tried out?
I really appreciate your engagement in field recordings but you should be careful because you don't know who is reading your comments.
      Have a nice day.

      Hi!
      Don't be offended!
I didn't want to lecture anyone at all! Your channel and your works are very interesting and that's why I'm subscribed to you. I just shared my experience with you.😉😎
Creative success to you and lots of free time for field recording!
And my grandmother used to say that "there is no limit to perfection"! There is always something to improve....😇

Sorry if I have been a little bit harsh but sometimes I have to let my emotions just flow to express myself.
I was just not agree with your opinion about the BP4025 and I wanted to show that there are other areas where we have to look at if we want to make a solid conclusion on the potential of actual recording equipment.
Thank you very much for your kindness.
      All the best.
