17:00 It would be more fun (and perhaps more accurate) to think that Saturn was not healing but instead turn back time so that he was never injured in the first place given that the blood from the wound also vanished, Saturn was the god of time in Roman mythology after all. Maybe he can control time in a limited manner within a limited range, that alone would make him broken as hell, like how he stops Sanji in his tracks by turning back his time constantly within a fraction of a second. Time travel is problematic to a story only in bigger scales, a few seconds of time manipulation would be a fun power without the implications, in fact future sight itself is a type of time manipulation in and of itself.
Robin is called devils child, Zoro is nicknamed Demon. Sanji has an attack called Diable Jambe (devils leg or damned leg) and Ifrit Jambe pointing to another demon. I think there are many more examples for underworld referneces
You completely forgot to mention. Zoro was called the King of Hell and was attacked by death incarnate and apparently survived.

One great thing to always bring up is that Brook's fruit gives him powers over the soul and afterlife. All that his devil fruit does is make his soul stay in the realm of the living, in a way giving a door for him to summon abilities from the afterlife. If there were no underworld, he wouldn't have these powers.
Bringing this up as I don't think that Brook's chilling abilities are a factor of his devil fruit, but something forged through his ties with the underworld.
I think it is more like Brook being closer or halfway between the underworld, so he can use his powers.
Love the idea that Blackbeard absorbs Saturn, two Yonko defeat a Gorosei is definitely news that would shock the world. My goofy theory is Saturn gets got and we see how Gorosei are created/promoted. With none other than Charlose getting a major power up from Imu becoming a Gorosei
charlos endgame villain would be hype because hopefully shirahoshi could get the runback with posiden powers

I love when you get into souls, it’s such a cool idea conceptually.
The one thing my head keepers going back too though is do the elders personality shift depending on if they are in demon form/drawing power from Imu/their fruits (whichever it is)
Like you said they get possessed by the power.
Because when they were deciding to destroy Ohara they looked visibly pained. As if destroying that much life to (in there mind) protect the world weighed heavy on their shoulders. They took a second to make the call only taking decisive action when clover was about to say the name of the kingdom.
But now Saturn is calling humans insects and disregarding the value of their life completely without a glimmer of restraint.
This is either cause Oda’s plan for their personality shifted
Or because they are all normal humans literally possessed by actual demons.
The human part of them believe in the original founding of the WG, and it reasons for existing, so most of the time they are allowed to be in control.
But the closer they get to a great cleansing and the more they interact with Imu the more the demon/devil souls in them take over and the less human their actions become.
Whether this is souly (intentional missspelling ; D) due to imu’s influence or do to demons/devils in their fruits/possessing them taking whole that will be interesting to find out.
No matter what it is.
I do hope it’s not just Oda changing his plans for their personalities, as I really want the WG to have started from a place that makes sense and not just be a bunch of evil demons. (I obviously don’t think oda would make it this simple, but you never know/I might be missing something.
Every other threat in the story has had something in their past to lead them to darkness. And the WG has had 800 years to be lead down said darkness.
I really want to find out what happens to Lili’s soul, she could be posted by Imu, trapped in Zunesha or simply had her will passed down to Vivi.
It really is wild how far this soul rabbit whole goes.
But I agree with you that the link between the devil fruits soul and how it interacts with the user is unmistakeable.

That makes so much sense and is only added onto by the fact that even thought saturn was in the ships by egghead and down from marijoise, when he got “summoned” to egghead and immediately came out in his demon form(which we never saw him transform into btw) and then goes and says, “its been soo long since i last was on the surface” which doesn’t make sense at all. Yeah I'm leaning towards their powers and transformations being a result of Imu's influence or power. I think Imu, like Luffy (and potentially BB), has a human-human god fruit which could allow them to summon devils to possess people.
I wonder if the WG was sort of overtaken by Imu through the Gorosei because Cobra mentioned a king from the founding kingdoms named Imu. Maybe after the founding the celestial dragons chose 5 representatives to be top authorities and they were in turn possessed or corrupted through Imu's DF they secretly made him King of the world
I'd prefer that this would be a case of selfishness overtaking conscience. Their selfishness fuels the devils, so they're easier to possess AND they allow it. The devils grant the elders powers and they feed the devils with selfishness. They're enabling each other by stroking their egos.
Joy boy, what's your thoughts on the one piece being a "blank" devil fruits? When someone eats it, it manifests their desires as a power then allow their soul to inhabit another fruit after death? Roger being too early as it was unripe and still on the tree? Laughing and wishing he lived in joy boy's era because if they knew how to grow blank fruits, it would be able to give everyone their desires.

So shanks would maybe get a future sighted power, or a calm calm fruit (settling wars and shit). Given what vegapunk said about the fruits coming from desires, maybe the jacket jacket fruit was a guy who could mimic people's fighting style and the fruit put a spin on it.
Going further down the rabbit hole. With everyone claiming this fruit and that fruit are mythical zoans thanks to luffy. Maybe all fruits are "mythical" first step is a power from the fruit, second step is being able to manifest the form (exaggerated) of the original user?

From a certain context … But Haki is just energy. The equivalent of Haki in our reality would be kundalini. There’s many names for it. Shakti, prana, ojas, kundalini, etc.

Side note: could it not be said, then, that "awakening" doesn't mean awakening true power of the fruit, but the soul of the devil itself, which is why the influence becomes stronger?

I like the idea of Nika becoming the DF tree and trapping others as fruits. What if there is another level beyond awakening for DFs?
Level 1: You eat the fruit and get some powers
Level 2: Awakening "when a Devil Fruit user's mind and body catch up to their powers"
Level 3: Lets call it "Reincarnation" - the devil residing in the fruit takes over the user permanently
This could hint at why Roger's and Shanks' crews were/are not using any DF. Losing the ability to swim pales in comparison to the benefits of some fruits, it still makes very little sense to unanimously pass up the opportunity.
It also explains why these powerful souls from hell are seemingly willing to share their powers - they hope to take over the user one day.

Another point supporting the devil reincarnation theory: The impel down jailer beasts.
We are told they are awakened Zoans but from what we know now this is very irregular. The awakened users we saw had to use a great deal of stamina to use their awakened abilities.
If the jailer beasts were reincarnated devils instead, it would make sense why they never lose their form, even when beaten. It could also explain why they do not talk (and technically calling them awakened isn’t a lie on Oda‘s side or a retcon).
wow, never thought of it, or maybe after the awakening there's a level where the user can sell their soul (sign a contract) to the devil for more power, because almost in every part of asia, there's a lot people who use black magic to sell their soul or even their family soul to get fame/ popularity, money, talent etc

Know whats weird? Most(if not all) animals in One Piece are weird amalgamations of things, but all Zoan type fruits are of real life animals
definitely not all. there are plenty of regular animals in one piece especially on cover pages which i know arent canon but i do think they flesh out the world. minks are also based on real animals. i think the hybrids exist due to the strange and sometimes random way that genetics and reproduction seem to work in one piece
It's not weird at all. Humans in the One Piece world probably tested their experiments on animals first, just like our world. You do not start gigantification with human children you start with something simpler like a gold fish. Same with combining linear factor of animals the Sea cat probably came before the mermaid.

I know you guys are not gonna like this one. I expect heavy skepticism and criticism in the comments but here we go. I think that the series one piece and the movie, Monsters inc has a lot more in common than it seems. It's weird that saturn looks exactly like the bad guy from that Pixer movie. But the bigger point I want to get across Is the power source in that universe. In the movie, it was said that screams produced power. Moreover that laughs produce 10 times that amount of energy.This is relevant, because nika is shown that during the fire festival, He's seemingly got buffs from nowhere. unless we assume that the prayers of the people somehow power him up as a god. This I believe had something to do with the mother flame/frame
Desire and souls are intrinsically connected in Buddhism. Only by relinquishing desire and becoming detached from one's physical aspect does one reach enlightenment in Buddhism. Strong desires would inherently tie a soul to the world and would absolutely fit into this theory, the Will of D., etc. Great theory and video.
I think there's a reason Ivankov brought up the ope ope fruit when talking to Dragon about Imu, makes more sense that they just have mythical zoan fruits, and if they or Imu are immortal, it's due to the fruit, which was brought up in that conversation for a reason. If they've been alive that long they could easily farm that fruit for themselves and force slaves to use it on them. People are looking too much into the magic circle imo, it's just like Kaido's flame clouds, or Marco's blue flames, these mythical fruits all have 'magical' properties. Is summoning yourself out of a pentagram really that crazy, when Kaido can turn into a literal dragon and levitate an entire Island, and Luffy can grab a bolt of lightning. Toki literally sent several people 20 years in time, and Law can take your soul and put it in another body. The pentagram is not a big deal lol. The whole thing with Brook being summoned was just a gag imo

Coby and Garp apparently have super strength from punching boats WITHOUT haki. So clearly we haven't seen all the powers the series has to unlock yet.

I think that blackbeard and his three theme is destined to show us how he becomes the 6th new eldar star. Could it be that the five eldars arent so worried about law because they know soon they will have him or his fruit perhaps? And then there is blackbeard who craves absolute power and i wonder if he is somehow meant to be the final installation to the eldar stars or what they have been building over the last millennium
I'm also in the mind to think this keeps up with the theme of 6 being an awful or evil number etc. But I almost wonder if law will be captured by blackbeard then brought to the five eldars. Perhaps he already knows what they are somehow 👀

Technically speaking, souls are a magical thing. We don't normally associate the 2 terms (souls + magic) but that's because souls are commonly associated with religion and many people get offended when religion is tagged as "just magic". My point is, since souls are technically magic (by definition, if you think about it), we can confidently say there is magic in the world of OP, because there are actual souls.
The fact that Brook is really a fortified soul, and can leave is body, says a lot about the story and the importance of the soul and will of the characters as well as everything in one piece, even ships have souls, or a spirit like the Going Mary, the voice of all things is also connected to this, tin foil hat I think Zoan type devil fruits carry more of the users will or their soul and joy boys soul/will is in the devil fruit it's self, vega punk talks about lineage factor, I think that's connected, the 5 Stars or Planets say Luffy's fruit seems to have its own will, could Joy boy take over Luffy or Luffy get memories from him, or is it more a subconscious effect, as for the 5 elders i think they could be Aliens,

Love this theory and some of this could end up being true. I love the idea of there being a heaven and hell in the underworld and that the conflict of the One Piece world being between heaven and hell over the ages. Imu is a human who has had the perpetual youth surgery preformed on him. He’s from the void century, and has vast knowledge of ancient times. Including the knowledge of how to summon demons via a ritual contract with them, the five elder stars could be such demons. They are not celestial dragons or apart of the original 20 kingdoms. These demons could be possessing the body’s sacrificed during the ritual, which is why they have a human form. They are immortal due to being demons not due to the surgery. They serve Imu due to being contracted to him.
They do however know of Nika, and possibly went up against him either long before the void century or were summoned to fight joyboy who has the nika fruit around that time.
Just where my mind went while listing to this theory.
Does magic exist in One Piece? I'd say yes in two context. The first would be within its own world that revolves not on a fantasy "knights and dragons" kind of system but on its own unique system that encompasses so many different forms (from Devil Fruits, to Soul, to Inherited Will, etc.) And the second and more impressive one would be how it has captivated millions with a story from a single man telling us about a young man who aimed for his dream and his journey to said dream.

Didn't Blackbeard say that the yami yami fruit was testing him by wanting Blackbeard to kill Thatch so he could get the fruit? The devil fruits 'chooses' their consumer after all. Did yami yami no mi choose Thatch or Blackbeard?
i always interpreted it as having chosen blackbeard but as a prerequisite for him to be truly worthy he had to kill someone who was in the way. someone who was his brother

Awesome theory, I wasn’t sold on souls at first but someone mentioned Brook, and he used to always use that ability where he would go into soul form. Really good evidence too! Love the connection with Shandora’s beliefs and the smile tree factory. Chopper’s forced awakening is a strong argument as well. The thought of God’s Valley being a giant soul harvesting ritual (unbeknownst to almost all participants) is a cool theory as well, and reminds me of Full Metal Alchemist. I find it interesting how the 2 potential saviors for the straw hats right now are robots/cyborgs (Giant robot or Kuma, or Bofa 🤷♂️) and Frankie was able to throw a strong right to save Luffy while nobody else could even move. Anyways there might not even be a relevant connection there I just thought it was an interesting coincidence.

It would have been easy enough to select five slaves force them to eat laws devil fruit force them to give the surgery to someone of their choice. Get the new devil fruit and continue the process until everyone you want is immortal. We know they're evil enough to do this and I imagine they were smart enough to think of it and they most definitely have the means
Logically Imu would represent the moon, being the opposite of the sun(Luffy), but then again if you rearrange Imu to “Umi”, you get “sea” in Japanese, and “mother” in Arabic. So is Imu the “mother of the sea”?

There's been a lot of ancestor worship on our planet over the millennia. Very similar to the whole idea with the trees and if you're bringing the spirits of the departed back to the village to live around their family, I don't think that would really be a hell

Heroes Journey, eating a forbidden apple and getting thrown out of the paradise. There are many stories oda is using making one piece out of it. Dragons are chaos, god is order. Woman are chaos, Men are Order. Imu gave birth to the Universe. Creation is chaos. Female God. You come from the sea, eating a fruit makes you the enemy of the sea. Outsiders refusing to breath the same air being CELESTIAL DRAGONS. Introducing Chaos. Many gods, many factions and all becoming one piece. Like a bible
maybe it's what people think would have saved them that makes a devilfruit, cuz they wish they had that property to survive their death, for example:
Magma-someone fell in lava
Ice-someone died frozen
Chop-Chop-someone was cut and died
Fire-burned to death
Human-an animal that died because it was hunted for being an animal
ETC. makes sense to me.
What about children's desires? We've only seen three children of the celestial dragons under the age of let's say 16 doflamingo,Rosinante, and shanks. As well as every time we seen Marie Geois we never seen children in the background at all. Makes you wonder why the reverie is every four years and why most of the celestial dragons are spoiled? I don't believe imu lives at Marie Geois I think they live somewhere else and come back every 4 years to get more children and after the other children had 16 make them leave. I think imu get take or feed off of desires of children desires or dreams for whatever power that they have. By teaching them and giving them everything they ever desired or wanted is the reason why they act the way they do. Like they were raised by God and they were better than everybody else. Why else would the celestial dragons have so many wives? I believe it's to give imu more power with more children.

I think oda will leave it to the readers with key detail to give his perspective of what he is thinking but ultimately leave it to the readers head canon to fit their narrative as well because the best writing is left to be interpreted by the readers to draw meaning for themselves and explaining something as big as the idea of gods is a risky feat for any writer i would bet my last dollar that oda is aware of this problem with introducing gods to a story and will explain just enough that there is still room for interpretation so readers can organizer the perceptive of god or gods
I think Saturn is still human, but he got the power without the medium of the fruit. So maybe using some kind of special contract with the devil. And maybe all the devil fruit comes from all the weak devils that Nika beat and then imprisoned in a fruit, and before he died he imprisoned his own soul into a fruit.
Speaking of Devil Fruit.... Are you sure the Gorsei doesn't want Nico Robin for her "Devil Fruit" I mean, her awakening with her "Devil" form might be something the Gorsei want or need to join them in their "Devil" Fruit related plot no? Nico Robin did Awaken her Devil Fruit basically the same time Luffy awakened Nika, just a thought! If someone can make a video on this :)
The third god you mentioned might be actually Brook's fruit. You describe Rebirth like it was the Yomi Yomi no Mi.

So Haki's Source is "The Will" of an individual...
we could also name that the "Soul" of an individual
and as of now, we've got 4 main forms of Haki based abilities within canon
- Armament Haki (enhance self by coating self in energy shell made out of own will)
- Observation Haki (enhance one's own awareness of other around self, by allowing own presence to spread through a large area, and feel the will of others)
- Conqueror's Haki (Release own will and emotion in bursts significant enough to affect the world around self and others)
- Voice of All things (Absorb the will of others to the point of being able to understand the voice of animals, and the desired and projected meanings hidden in ancient writtings)

what if Brook's music, Django's Hypnotism and Goldenweek's paint
are the sign of a 3rd major form of Haki?
The ability of altering others and the world through sheer will and desire?
a sort of "Will over World" power?
and this power, is the origin of Paramecia and Logia fruits (also under the mass murder/souls are fuel for devilfruits concept)

There used to be these 3 forms of Haki
- Armament Which boosts self and Flesh, Stregthens own's will
- Observation Which boosts ones awareness, and connection to the world
- Molder's Which changes the world according to the will of the user
only the later one was considered too harmfull to IMU and their plans, due to an advanced form which allowed the user to transform themselves based on elements of the world around them (World's Will)
and for that IMU had to make it dissapear
Capturing and retraining inferior users before they could ever unlock something actually harmful
and
Killing those who unlock it's true power
making it
so that, someone who masters all 3 Haki type's advanced forms, becomes something Akin to IMU, and with that, they can become gods?
Conqueror's gives them the power to exert their will against the world
The Voice of All Things gives them control over Nature's Existance, and other's Desires
World's Will, makes them untouchable, almost omnipresent, but still capable of attacking and hurting others
Zoan Powers can still be born from Animals, maybe some animals in the past unlocked some of these Haki abilities and became diffrent kinds of mythical creatures that later on became Mythical Zoans
Paramecia fruits were born from creative masters of any combination of these Haki powers, some achieving greater mastery, others not so much
But Logias (the rarest, of the 3 base kinds of Devil Fruits), only come from people who were able to master World's Will, and with that become 1 with specific elements of reality, and engraving that in to their own souls and later on, their "oh so rare" DFs, due to users of this 3rd type of Haki being so few and far between
what if this is the origin of the Gorosei "Magic"
it's them using this potential 3rd Haki to "mold the world" and reshape the natural laws?

What if there are no real gods in One Piece, but only 1 in a Trillion People, with the potential to mold reality past the breaking point, and their desire, Will, and power was inherited through DFs and reincarnation Only for the the world Gov to try and keep that secret under lock and key, only so there will be no other gods evermore, besides the Gorosei and IMU?
TL;DR: What if World Gov is keeping hidden a 3rd base type of haki that lets you alter reality with your willpower, all so they can horde that good shit for themselves?

So Haki is the manifestation of your will or soul. That being said the fact it's possible to manifest haki outside the base 3 types makes sense, each person getting their own unique way of enforcing the will on the world; Zoro's 9-sword style, Goldernfinger's paint, etc. How devil fruits play into all this idk, but DF being some kind of condensed will of people past is kinda what Vegapunk mentioned with fruits being the result of people's desire.

I know Blackbeard has been low key but I have a question power scaling wise. Where do you think he is compared to Luffy. Personally Luffy’s Nika form is crazy, but Blackbeard stacking Devil fruit powers seems just as op, plus we’ve definitely only scratched the surface of his powers.

Considering the Gorosei's comment about the Nika-Nika fruit having evaded their grasp for so long, it does imply that *some* fruits are able to choose where they end up. Something that might also be an example of this -could- be Sabo obtaining Ace's fruit. At least I think it is a nice headcanon that a small part of Ace lives on in Sabo. Also it'd just be cool if that somehow ties into a run back of Mera-Mera vs Akainu :33
This was awesome! Just like older joy boy theories. Love that it gave more context to your god fruit theory and your thoughts on souls were incredible! I had this theory a very long time ago that devil fruits are the souls of the people from the void century kingdom traped in fruits. Maybe to save them maybe to punish them but I want to leave the fact that "devil's" are people like robin here in the comments. Maybe it's worth considering that since - aside from imu - devil's in the one piece world aren't always the evil ones, it's possible that there's an even more tragic origin to the devil fruits.
I love the theory, but I think you glazed over another thing that would help it. I don’t think just dreams or desire is involved in making a new devil fruit. I think intense misery is involved as well. Its not just death but misery overall. Intense desire for better comes from intense misery like those who are slaves. I think that’s why SAD (sadness/misery?) is the ingredient for false devil fruits. It would also explain what was missing, desire or even maybe hope? Also it could be that luffy who feeds off and gains power from people’s joy or at their very least seems to use it as fuel, then imu could be the mirror to that and feed off misery and sadness. So much to your theory!!
Amazing theory! Now I'm living with the fear of having a conclusion to the One Piece Manga that falls short of this. But there is a possibility that your theory is at least partially right. The closer we get to the end of One Piece, the more predictable it has to be.
According to this theory if Blackbeard's devil fruit can negate desires and thus erasing the demon leaving its desire unfulfilled, could this be possible that Luffy or Nika, who fulfills desire, can grant these unfulfilled souls peace and also erase there existance.... Like Blackbeard can steal devil fruits power as he negates the desire... So if Nika can fulfill the desire then also the soul in the fruit has no reason to be assosiated to the world of living anymore and can assend to the next live hence erasing the devil fruit itself

Ok…I can definitely see the logic and all of it is INCREDIBLY interesting (props to you!) but if this is remotely correct, we have officially entered Fullmetal Piece. Mass murder and genocide in order to bring about a powerful mystical object as well as the importance of souls hits waaaaay too close.
This was very fun, a lot of interesting threads and possibilities here. That said, I do have some minor critiques.
Nika is the warrior of liberation. I think it very likely he sacrificed himself though I find it less likely he would have done so to imprison others. He may have done so to liberate his friends. A parallel to Luffy's journey. Nika was on an adventure and formed friendships/alliances/nakama. He perhaps had a dream already or formed it along the way but then realized he could not yet fulfill it in some way. So he made an apology on the poneglyph and postponed whatever was planned. I think wishes to free the denizens of hell and maybe the spirits of the devil fruits. He willingly sacrificed himself to a devil fruit in doing so he was also able to strongly maintain his will. Obviously a lot of speculation but I do stand by the objection to him sacrifing in order to imprison others.
And so, my second nitpick or observation. I am still unsure if we can confidently say a devil fruit contains another soul. In some cases that seems very true like the Nika fruit but in all cases not so. Do the logia fruits contain the soul of all fire, or magma, or ice? Chopper's fruit certainly doesn't contain all human souls nor does Luci's contain all cougar (or is it jaguar?) souls. There's something odd here. It like they more contain the essence of a thing. That's why zoans perhaps have a will of some kind because part of the essence of a creature is to be alive or a will to live of some kind. So when it's a very specific devil fruit, like the essence of Nika is Nika, you get a strong will within the fruit.
Also, what the hell is the ride-ride fruit? Just in general. I know what it does (I think) but what spirit or essence is that?

No-- I very much hate the idea that the main bad guys of the entire series are just "naturally evil demonic spirits" rather than "humans who had experiences that made them evil" when that goes so very much against literally everything else we have seen in the series. Even the worst characters in all of One Piece so far have had very human reasons for doing evil. To cope out at the end and for the ultimate evil to just be "demons who are born evil and can't be any other way" just utterly destroys the themes of the entire series. Because there is no "just born evil" entity in the real world to trace all evil back to.
I think you're valid, but the main evil guy is Imu, at least right now he is, and Imu is most likely the one doing the summoning, is otherwise not inherently evil or a demon himself. For his underlings to be inherently evil demons seems more like a natural progression.
We've had many references to gods, deities, you name it. We had the little tid bit about devil fruits supposedly containing the soul of a devil. One Piece wants you to keep demons/demonology and the divine in the back of your head, even just a tiny bit.
All the previous big bads have been people that only see themselves as gods, or more worthy than others, and are followed by people who truly believe they're right. With luffy becoming an actual god like being it makes sense he'd face off against similar beings, or the antithesis to a benevolent god, that being demons. Plus with the whole idea of the world government, a group posing as good guys aiming to do more harm than not, that would be the work of devils. To have the leader of such a group be a user of dark, occult magicks would make at least a teeny bit of sense. To have him enlist the help of genuine monsters as well.
We've seen that the marines working under the WG are individuals, they can do good or bad. They don't know that they're being manipulated by demons and this is where we can still find that evil is not inherent in this world. The marines can be evil, but this is a result of working under actual demons who influence you to do bad under the guise of righteousness.

Im also of the head cannon that Blackbeard is gonna profit out of this chaos somehow. I’ve always been thinking since he captured Moria (I guess he could’ve successfully escaped) maybe he would force him to use his awakening on Rocks’ body to resurrect him (Madara style). Because as it stands, We’ve been shown Haki > Devil Fruit and Shanks Haki may be the best we’ve seen in the verse so far. Plus shanks can’t beat Blackbeard because Luffy’s gotta do it for story purposes.

Its curious cause the devil fruits are only consumed by people involve in the world disruptions ( pirates ,marines,revolutionaries ,...) . Maybe some of the strong desires (soul) of the one piece world are trapped in fruit through spell ( atlantean reference), or some make a pact in the underworld and are reincarnate in fruits to continue their will (desire). The idea of Imu or the gorosei being demons or having demon like powers would be very fitting since Satan himself became a demon because he wanted to dethrone God. The power that rules the world wants to be God just like many of the villains we’ve seen in the series.

Great concept video JB,I feel like Imu is more so the Demiurge than the Devil or at least Imu is larping as a malevolent creator god since marcus mars called imu the creator(he could of said founder but said creator) and the gorosei are his archons and entrapment of souls sounds like something the Demiurge would do

I really like the concept of magic in one piece, and one of the most recent examples of blatant magic on the show was the whole character of Hawkins and his cards, I'm pretty sure his cards do not have any connection to his akuma no mi, and still it almost seems like magic.
Hawkins uses tarot cards if I'm correct. That is a form a divination i.e. just outright magic
Old concept art from before the series began clearly had plans for magic and wizards to play a role in the story, so actual devils being a thing might have been something Oda considered and reworked into whatever we're getting is very plausible

I don’t think it’s necessarily magic but some kind of science/alchemy or sacred knowledge. They’re and were beings in one piece with “magical” powers without explanation. Lunarians can become completely invulnerable to damage and manifest fire from their bodies and legends of god-like beings; like Nika, with super human powers, powers that are so inherent and natural to Nika, that his powers can be passed down thru a devil fruit like wings from a bird. I feel like theres still some unexplained mysticism in one piece that these beings have access to. I also think knowledge of this power could also allow very intelligent people; like Dr. Vegapunk, to also tape into it as well. We even know the people of the ancient kingdom were so verse with some kind of power or knowledge, that they were able to create devil fruits, limitless energy and world destroying weapons! But these same things can be replicated, as we can see with Dr. Vegapunk, & be called science. Even the soul has a weight, using intellect & man made tools to observe and interact with spiritual forces. A perfect symbolic merge of the mystic & the scientific. So there has to be some kind of “magic” in one piece, but we can only call it magic cause we don’t know what it is or how it works. For others it might simply be information that can be learned or for other just their nature, but there’s something there for sure & I can wait for Oda to show us what it is!
I think Blackbeards Fruit is truely the Cerberus Fruit, a Mythical Zoan of the 3 Headed Guarddog of Hell in Greek history, that could have 3 Souls in it in other words: 3 Devilfruits at the same time.
I believe the name "devil fruit" comes from the perspective of the world government. Especially when there has been one fruit (nika) that has been a thorn in their side. We can also see this in Wano where they don't call them devil fruits because they have no affiliation with the WG. Haki is ones ambition manifested and Vegapunk's theory about the fruits is that they are human's desire to evolve. We also know that people's dreams never die which could play into how some fruits have a will of their own. I believe these are connected in some way but i can't put my finger on it. Great theory though.

Your point that devil fruits are created after a massacre or a great devastating event made me think of punk hazard, where some random fruit was turned into a devil fruit at the end of smiley's life. Which hasn't been elaborated further I think but that's some niche memory and I don't know if there is anything to it but it would fit. Nice vid, exploring concepts none else does.
I think a lot of these theories on Imu are slowly coming true. I do believe based on the recent chapters on Imu when confronted by Cobra clearly imply immortality is being lorded over the celestial dragons which is how they are kept in line with Imu’a desires. These is also the deference from the elders which give the impression of Imu as a god and they as his angels or demons who follow his every whim and command. I think the end battle will be one between gods who have eating devil fruits containing the souls of those who were once considered gods. So the end battle is one of light veses darkness, a back and forth and one pertaining to a movement between cycles, much like what vegapunk said about how history works. There’s an era of darkness followed by light followed by darkness again. Just me speculating.
