parallel them all up and use multiple amps or one who is able to run the 2 Ohm load. throwing out the genuine crossover, who is 80% responsible for the good sound of those speakers and putting just any crossover on it, does not make a lot of sense. You could have saved yourself a lot of the Work, too... i worked a lot with Pa Systems and setting up 5 Way Systems fully active a lot of times... so i know having good speakers is a essential part and takes sooo much time to listen and measure and adjust. having a good crossover for these speakers is a big benefit, which you throw into the trash can by bypassing them
listening to this video on Miccas : ) 20 years a go i built a pair of Bottlehead Audio Straight 8s - a line array with 8 woofer/mids and 1 tweeter. so i feel your wiring pain :)
Check your local hardware/electrical store for WAGO wire splicing connectors, make sure to get the ones for stranded wire, not solid. Easy and quick connection of wires, you can hook up up to 6 or more wires into the same connector. They're basically permanent solutions that can be easily removed, since they're designed for electrical(110V, 220V, etc) wires.
Pretty cool stuff... you’ll need to measure this cause I think that from a non near field distance you might get serious comb filtering effect with the tweeters. I’m curios to see how it pans out. In any case it’s cool that you have the guts and invest the time to investigate this. Good luck and if things don’t pan out on the first try there may be tweaks that can be tried to make it better.
How many Micca speakers are going to be at Hifiguides Rocky Mountain room? I mean between your Micca Tower Build, Zeos's Micca's and the Micca's that you'll be giving to audience members, that must be a lot of them.
Don’t you have to check the polarity when connecting the drivers and crossover? You could experiment with the drivers being in and out of phase and listen to the effect! I tried it once and it was quite interesting as,long as you keep the impedance at a level your am can handle! I use tube amplifiers that can handle 2 ohm to 32 ohms because they have transformer outputs with multiple taps. Kind of reminds me of Infinity line sources! They should be impressive with incredible impact with all those small drivers, but will need more power than what appears your have to really feel the impact! Great idea!
What the frack man? Between you and @joentell this is the reason why Amazon does not have any in stock lol. Hope it was all worth it. It was actually. Cool idea. Kinda jealous lol
You should do a video on motherboard DAC performance. I just bought a new x570 mobo and didn't know what it would compare up to. What would specs like these compare to? SupremeFX 8-Channel High Definition Audio CODEC S1220A - Dual OP Amplifiers - Impedance sense for front and rear headphone outputs - Supports : Jack-detection, Multi-streaming, Front Panel Jack-retasking - High quality 120 dB SNR stereo playback output and 113 dB SNR recording input - SupremeFX Shielding Technology - Supports up to 32-Bit/192kHz playback *2 Is it worth buying an external DAC or will this new mobo do just fine.
with 8 speakers why not try a fourrier array ? i mean not using a 8 way crossover (pass band filters) but 8 separate amps (or 8 sine wave generators) one for each fourrier coefficient) does it make sense ? i mean 1 speaker+1 amp for each fundamental sine wave using a fourrier decomposition ( for example if these woofers goes from 50 hz to 11khz, one will play only a perfect 80hz sine wave amplified by the 80hz fourrier coefficient, the next woofer the 160hz sine wave only, amplified by the 160hz fourrier component ,and so on (320hz, 640 , 1280, 2560,5120 and finally 10240hz) so 8 woofers is enough to cover the woofers range ability). and then a single tweeter should be enough to cover 20480hz fourrier coefficient required to cover human hearing range (20hz-20khz) for these speakers ability (so 9 speakers per side. (for total human hearing frequency coverage you would need 2 extra subwoofers to cover 20hz and 40hz fourrier coefficients so 11 speakers per side in total). in this setup a pure sine audio signal that is not a fundamental frequency so lets say 100hz sine wave will not come out from a single speaker (as in a 8 way crossover) but all 8 speakers at the same time using their respective fourrier coefficients in order to add up and sound like a 100hz sine signal coming from a single speaker
No wonder the RB42's are out of stock. It looks like DMS bought all of them for this project.
Haha luckily these are all B-stock so I’m not ruining everyone’s day
This video is like Linus and Zeos had a kid.
I think you just nailed his aesthetic perfectly
Other reviewers: 8000$ Tekton Design driver array speakers.
DMS: 16 Micca's and blu tack.
Will there ever be a part 2? or did you abort?
for real, an update either way would be nice
Was there ever a second part?
i wanna see part two of this
so when is the 2ed video coming out
PART TWO PLEASE?!?!?!

Cool Project! Can't wait to see how it turns out.
Part 2? No?
Any update on this or has the project gone cold?
Didn’t work out. Made it semi-work another way. Just gotta take time to film it

Very interesting, so the end result will be a line array without comb filtering?

I can’t even imagine doing all that without a drill. I want to hear Z’s reaction to this...
Won't the tweeters interfere with each other? I read somewhere that tweeters playing the same frequencies start to cancel each other.
Yep. Working out the details on it. Lots of experimentation.
@@DMS3TV perhaps play with the phasing or contact paul mcgowen and see if he'll drop some knowledge on you.
Well, what happened to part 2?
Long story. I broke something.
How many Micca speakers are going to be at Hifiguides Rocky Mountain room? I mean between your Micca Tower Build, Zeos's Micca's and the Micca's that you'll be giving to audience members, that must be a lot of them.
16 Miccas minimum. Who knows how many more after that. I'll have to ask Z how many others are going
New subscriber because of ltt, is there a second part yet?
Something broke so I’ve been having to re-work it from the ground up but yes! In the next few weeks
@@DMS3TV Any updates on part 2? You can't leave us hanging like this DMS!
What amp is he using?
Part 2.....
Yep. Same.
Just add another pair of binding posts to the speaker boxes so you dont have to run wires out of the ports. Use a minidsp for your crossover/eq
Nice. Keep on movin! I will watch more of your content 😉👍
Part 2 ???
i think is on patreon because in the later videos the RB42 towers are dismantled.
This is the most creative thing !
Why didnt you just wire them by the bananna plugs?

No soldering needed? Just tape em?
Awesome project. Thinking of doing a similar build, what stands are you using?
hard work but you need to show if this is any good, did you measure ?

still waiting on part 2
Oh man the reason a part 2 never came is because I royally screwed up and popped half the drivers 😅
If you tear the tape instead of cutting it, then the end is easier to find.
Part 2 please😁😁😁
Soooooooon
@@DMS3TV now? Hehehe
How about now
I'd be interested in the performance of 8 or 16 Micca COVO-S speakers in a mono line array. I suspect they'd perform like the Bose L1.
Could you recommend me some headphones to use with my smartphone without amp?
Love it man. I wish I could attend RMAF!
, end result, the power grid goes down for the entire city.!!!
Couldve easily used banana plugs with fatter ends to fit wires in. going via the port disruptsthe ports funtionality.

Broh Woow!! That’s cool. Please send a pair of those Micca to me. Post them to South Africa 🇿🇦. I love those babies
You should at one point think about buying a soldering iron. KSGER would be a good investment.
I actually have a pretty nice soldering iron.
DMS i assumed you don’t since you twisted the cables together. I find soldering quicker and more reliable. Please accept my apologies.
Be nice if I could just get 1 pair here in Australia.
The cost of shipping to here means they're no longer a bang for buck speaker.
@Numero Studios
Good luck even finding a pair
@Numero Studios
Cheers mate
Weres part 2 wth
, I understand the math but I just dont understand how you can run drivers
in phase and out of phase on one channel ???????
WTF ??????
You just flip the terminals on one of the drivers and boom, it's now out of phase with the rest of the drivers on the channel.
Just get 16 monoblocks and a RCA distributor or something similar :)

OMG! That's insane. I hope you live in your own house, because when you finish it, your neighbors won't be happy.😂
WOW!!
Just EPIC!
So... no soldering or crimping involved?! You're in for treat, let me tell ya!
let me know if you want so sale some of them ...
Now I know where all the fucking rb42 went. Lol
Interesting project though!😆
Anybody else think it was his girlfriend that was holding the camera, up until the laugh at 10:40?
So that's why they're out of stock.
didn't know you were a lefty. we wlefties have to s tick together.
OMG YOU"RE the reason why they are never on stock hahahah
noone can get these and DMS has 8 pairs like thanks man. been trying to buy them for months.
they're all B-stock that weren't going to be sold

thought RB42's are self powered?? Vid is 12 minutes too long. Maybe MB42 ?
nope!

So your the reason I can’t buy any.
