It's interesting to me as an American, since what I'd recognize as vindaloo isn't spicy at all. It's a very mild Indian stew made with what I can now pretty safely assume to be wine and garlic.
wow! (watching QI) I only learned yesterday that the Portuguese ruled India - and for so long! I had no idea. It's amazing to me sometimes that great swathes of information about our world can be missing from a person's mind.
alhos is pronounced AH LEE OH if its plural its AH LEE OHS... there is no shhh sound to it. im from brazil, there are very subtle differences between brazilian portuguese and portuguese from portugal, garlic is the same for both.
