That doesnt look like light wear. They are filthy and scuffed. That right shoe shows that it has rubbed up against something. Even the V logo is flithy. The laces are dirty. I give my shoes a clean every couple of weeks. My Veja shoes I wear less often than my other white sneakers and they look new out of the box after MANY months. If you don't clean your shoes and take care of the leather then of course its going to deteriorate faster.
I agree with the rest of the comments ... ive trekked with mine on trails and travelled two latin american counties and no issues - still going strong and great quality
