UNA NAVEGACION COMPLICADA PERO SE LLEGO A BUEN PUERTO!!!! MUY BUEN VIDEO!!! EMILIE Y CAPITAN LES MANDO UN GRAN SALUDO DESDE LATITUD 34 S. ARGENTINA !!!!! BUENOS VIENTOS !!!!
Sailing down wind i find it easier to put the main sail away and use both jibs poled out one each side. this keeps the centre of sail foward and and the boat sails easier and holds it's course better. so if you don't have them you'll need to get your self a pole for the outer jib and the inner staysail or fok as you call it. a friend with an 80 foot gaf ketch made a yard so he could fly a square sail. the only other thing to do is via off so you have the wind on all sail but you have to gybe and zig zag down wind, this is more work but with all sail up the higher speed can make the passage faster even though you'll cover more ground
Good point thank you , I thought about a boom from a top sail to use it as a support for a butterfly. We will see how to use it in the future, thank you for giving me an interesting thought
We canceled the stop in Calais, where there is a immigration danger on the beaches. That is why we were checked twice by the customs ship close to Calais.

I went to the Brest Wooden Boat Festival in 2000. Marvellous!!
We would very much like to experience the atmosphere, but only if the weather permits, we don't want to risk it and therefore have no time pressure
There are worse places than Calais to wait out bad weather.
