This is definitely a top release this year. It did get labeled as generic by a few reviewers and thus didn't get the proper attention it deserves. Thank you for taking time to show it some love.
Thanks for sharing! I think its terrific but a few people in the comments said otherwise. Even one shmuck said I was a clown for thinking this was a masterpiece. Its amusing how so many people get overly passionated about this stuff.
I've smelled this about a month ago. I ended up picking up SpiceBomb EDT and I'm going back for YSL MYSLF as I did actually enjoy it and i like the versatility factor. Cheers.
Excellent review OG! Whenever you feel strongly about a fragrance, good or bad, your energy and enthusiasm translate well thru the camera. I will definitely smell this out ✌🏾
Just smelt this one. Didn't expect to like it but ended up loving it. I did not like any of the YSL Y line fragrances because they are too sweet. But this one is different and so wearable. Think I will be getting a bottle soon.
Great review. Totally agree. Girls love this one and it’s a compliment getter for sure. Has solid edp performance. The name is a play on the parent company - m-YSL-f lol.
I had the same sample that you did, wore it about four or five days, and really liked it a lot… even though enough reviewers in the past, have crapped all over it, mainly. Had a lot of compliments too
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and for watching, Brian. Yeah a lot of reviewers will say stuff and think they are professionals. I stated on a video very recently that reviewers are not experts at all.
Im a YSL FANATIC!! Easily my favorite house. The Y line has so many flankers, that they started runniny together. Heard this one wasnt getting any love, but I am definitely going to get my hands on this--for nothing else--if it doesnt take off...i can have a scent that everyone else isnt wearing...like Sauvage, or YSL Y parfume. As always, I appreciate your take on this and cant wait until the next video!
Thanks Jonathan and you are correct that its not getting that much love. I think its GREAT. Scroll down to read a few of the comments, one guy also called me a shill without taking the money LOL. People in this community take it too seriously.
Thank you A G J. I smelled the odor. I felt like it was an odor battle 50% iris or ? vs. a 50% factory odor? Thanks. Righteousness and gold rule. Smart.
That's an interesting take to it. Yeah this fragrance gets a lot of hate for no reason. Its not ground breaking I'll admit but people I think hold this brand to a high standard that's why.
@@AGentlemansJourney77 I'm assuming I like the "Ambrofix" note, because it's also in Gucci Guilty Elixir, and I really like that one too. But I pick up on a kind of "Tobacco leaf" note in Guilty Elixir. It's not listed, but it's so good. ❤️
Had to click because I thought the title was a gag. 😆 Isn't this one universally hated? Haven't smelled it myself, but you know how much I despise woody ambers. Thumbs up for going against the crowd Chad. 👍 Awesome that it works for you.
I don't know if this is universally disliked as I am not really subscribed to the mainstream channels any longer. And I will always go about the crowd, I like what I like. Too many people in this community take this hobby too seriously its not even funny. Read a few of the comments down below.
This is why this hobby is so great. I smelled this at Duty Free and was super underwhelmed. Chad, you're someone I respect, and your take is 180 different than mine and that's great! Love it (the take but not the scent!).
and I appreciate that so thank you. It's crazy how passionate some people can be with a difference of opinion when it comes to this stuff. Read one of the comments in this video and you'll see.
Chad, I tried MYSLF by Yves Saint Laurent and I am not a fan. I guess that I am not on the same page as you with this release. Everybody has a unique take on fragrances which I think is cool. It creates conversation which is always good. YSL keeps making flankers to the Y brand and they sell very well. I guess the next flanker is going to be Y Elixir.
@@AGentlemansJourney77 Well said. I like what Lanier Smith says about fragrances, " Wear what you love, not what other people say you should like." He is right.
I tend to love unisex fragrances on my hubby. I smelled a tester and fell in love. I kind of loathe the name. Our culture is becoming more and more self-obsessed. Now I'm wondering if it would work for MYSELF, since I do love iris fragrances!
I understand what you mean about being self obsessed. You see it a lot on social media and I see it pretty much daily as I work with the general public. Always smell it out as you just might not like it. Thank you for watching, mademoiselle.
Ysl myself and ysl libre for women, smell similar to me. And the libre could also be unisex more leaning to the femme side imo. In contrast the myself could also be unisex more masc side if that makes sense. Lol
Good review I've been wondering about this one because ive seen it get a lot of hate as well as a lot of positive, one youtuber made 2 videos about how he hates it lol another youtuber took it out in a street reaction video and all the women favoured it over the main y line,
I just shake my head when people get too passionate about this hobby like its going to change their world for the better or worse. I just chuckled when you said someone did 2 videos on it.
I didn't think that Ralph's Club was all that great in all honesty. I am wearing the Elixir right now. It smelled very different yesterday than from what I'm getting now.
@@AGentlemansJourney77 I smell it Yesterday and i was shocked... Nothing new. Whats going on here? YSL is a clone House now? 😂 I like your Vids, watching from Austria, Europe. Fragrance Lover and Collector since the 80 ies...
top note smells almost the same as Prada Luna Rossa ocean edt.. shower gel.. but Prada smells much cheaper then the dry down of MYSLF is not groundbreaking but it is very pleasant, versatile, unisex... and it is identical to Libre
I don't like to sound like a snob, but I found this frag so basic, I couldn't believe YSL released it. And so feminine. This should have been released as a woman scent. Not worth the asking price.
That's okay, you're a snob and just own it LOL. I get what you mean though. Its certainly not for everyone. Even one stooge said I was a clown for thinking this stuff is a masterpiece and how it seems like I took the money. People in this community are dumber than a box of crayons. I've read that from a few of the comments in this video. if one likes it or hates it then it's all good.
Very true on getting no respect
I bought this on first sniff since I was looking to add a citrus-floral. This easily pulls compliments. Very enjoyable and very versatile.

Great review Chadster! I just got this at The Bay and I like it. I've been away from the fragrance game for a bit, but slowly getting back into it.
Hey stranger. Thanks for stopping by.
Great review as always.

I absolutely love it. YSL Y EDP with citrus boom
Its a great fragrance. I don't understand the hate it gets.
I really like it, I wrote it off because of the phrases, "Basic, Generic ".. but there's an Aquatic Clay to this that I'm really digging. ❤

@@AGentlemansJourney77 The 50% factory odor was my fav. 🤭
I got like 10 sample viles of myself and used all of them and ended buying myself a 100ml bottle and I’m so happy with it
Then you really love this fragrance if you had that many samples.

Great fragrance.
Doesn’t last.
Took it back.
BTW, I got no Iris.
If you want a Citrus opening and Iris, buy Armani Code Parfum. It’s much better.

Take the sparkling citrus and white florals of YSL Libre mix with the masculine aromatics of Ralphs Club...YSL MYSLF
I didn't think that Ralph's Club was all that great in all honesty. I am wearing the Elixir right now. It smelled very different yesterday than from what I'm getting now.
@@AGentlemansJourney77 MYSLF has some of that smooth aromatics like the edp. I got a lavender like vibe from MYSLF
It's spelt MYSLF so presumably it's a name built around the letters YSL. I don't much like the name personally.
MYSLF ( male ysl female ) unisex
WOW!!! 😮
I tried this fragrance at Sephora the other day and wasn't impressed. It sure is getting a lot of hype though.
I can respect that. To each their own.
Smells like Green Irish Tweed from Creed?
GIT is better in my opinion but this new YSL is extremely good in my opinion. Smell it out for yourself, you may agree with me or not.
