  • This Canadian is about to make a massive impact in World Rugby.
Ciaran Breen has represented his province British Columbia in U14 XV’s and 7s, U16 XV’s and 7s, and U18 in only 7s. He captained the Shawnigan Lake School XV in his final year of high school. He has represented Canada at the XV level in Phoenix, Arizona, and San Diego, California. Just recently he represented Canada in BC playing in a test match against the USA. 7s wise he has also represented Canada at the World School 7s in Auckland, and he hopes to go again this upcoming year. He will be playing for Biarritz Olympique starting August 7th.
All of this and he has only just turned 18!!

With a name like that, he must have Irish heritage!
Looks like he has the makings of a top class international player.

Are these tackling optional leagues? Maybe trying to do hockey tackles?

@itshardmakinganamefo: Its always the same, automatic response when a good player resists being tackled -- "players can't tackle for shit". Always the same response. Always always. Every single video in this "Remember the Name" series gets the same response: "This is only junior, wait till he gets to senior". Every time.

+@@avko4966 Do you know where he will play next year? His contract ends in 2020 with the Biarritz Olympique club and his contract does not currently seem to be renewed.
Do you know if he has any offers to play in another club or if he will stay in Biarritz with an extended contract??

(Biarritz is just a second division club and Ciaran did not play with the number one team, only with the "hope team" without often being the first choice ...).

His works ethic and principles that he upholds is what makes him one of the best players of our generation. His rugby IQ is beyond anyone and he is bound for success, it is not appreciated how you have overlooked those skills.

Aaryan Kochhar Definitely haven’t overlooked his skills and work ethic, just trying to point out that there are many players who would run rings around this kid...the level of rugby in North American can’t be compared to what goes on in France at that age.
