- Today's video is once again on lore in the #roblox game #deepwoken and why it is bad and makes no sense. I cover the lore surrounding the duke of erisia, the lord regent, lifeweave magic, the new flame legendary weapon and more. And this makes a lot of sense, since guards at Etris and Summer isle are mostly used to handling lowly things like bandits. While the divers are much more experienced to handle the dangers and monsters of the depths.
Etrean guards lack pve scaling, we accidentally made them stronger 😭

The thing in Deepwoken is that you don't get stronger by guarding or training really.
You get stronger by running around and fighting shit.
If you want to get stronger faster? You fight even stronger shit.
Those progs that take 4 hours also require the player to kill a ton of powerful creatures by virtue of having knowledge from PREVIOUS INCARNATIONS.
The guards don't fight anything but BANDITS.
And even then they die quite often.
The guards are at a good level of strength relative to their environment.
The player character is the outlier here.
If we wanted the guards to be actually strong, think of how long it takes for a true beginner of a game to max out everything on their character, as well as have a good mantra setup and weapon.
They wouldn't be guarding anymore, they'd be out adventuring for like a year to five years before being able to actually guard anything.
And they are extremely likely to die multiple times on said adventure.
It's simply not worth it.
I don't see how the Canor one makes sense, just because they are majority on the Authority doesn't means canors who are not alligned with the faction can't ""betray"" it. From what I recall, their loyalty is portrayed like the bound humans has with dogs, meaning Canors are the "best friends of the Adrets" (who would be the humans in deepwoken). This is why they are also a majority in the Authority, but the loyalty would only work towards allied adrets or something like this, is not like they were born to serve the Adrets. Also I'm pretty sure the faction with most Canors is the Ignition Union (although the guard npcs at minor's landing can spawn with any race obtainable, most of those who have unique interaction are canors).
My favorite part in deepwoken lore is when Deimos from Rainbow Six Siege used blood scourge on Mira in the 1v4 gank

Pyre Keeper coming out with 5 crits and a new flame despite flame not needing it for lore reasons Vs. Stormseye getting gutted on an attunement with 3 whole talent trees (one being a path and cancels the other tree) and has been nerfed for a move that barely justifies a nerf and has signifigantly less build options + has lore that is irrelevant because they'd rather make league of legends the gamemode

The towns in deepwoken should take notes from Duke Erisia he has turrets, an acid cave, golems and a teleporter before you even get to his manor. While the factions have like 12 guards that are slightly above bandit level.
Though much of this is explained in the lore or can easily be understood with a bit of reading between the lines (as well as the stuff in your other videos), most of this does, indeed, not make sense

@@Reaconteur Also, just so this doesn't spark any more confusion, silentheart doesn't necessarily refuse the song, but rather it's abuse and the way it's twisted. Even when looking at the dreadstar's dialogue, it kind of feels like it's against attunement users, and not the song itself, so while it says that it deafens the song, it might just deafen the twisted, impure and abused version of the song that are attunement, hence why we are still able to use bells and murmurs, which are purer versions of the song. Is it poorly explained? es. Could this be wrong? Yes. is this the best explanation we have? I think so.

dawg I want lore on deepwoken that atleast makes bonds beetwen eachother cuz i want to theorize, MatPat got me into theorizing a bunch of stuff without knowing it and deepwoken seems like a perfect game for theorizing
Something that I thought would be pretty cool is like whenever you reach 100 will power or for whatever psychopath runs 100 int you gain perspection of the veil thats being cast around etris. Additionally you can see faint signs of strings attached to the Npc's and yourself when you enter. Plus just a cool little conversation with the lord regent where after you do the duke quest while he still kills you he asks if you can see/perceive the veil before saying interesting then using judgement.
No Reaconteur, There's 6 types of flames if we include the white flames from shard bow and purple flames in lore which may become obtainable in the future, its even more bloated than we thought.
These lore videos are amazing! Please keep posting! Also a bit of weird lore, Duke dies to a pvp player, then slaughters the trial???? Like he literally has around 50000 drowns by now, and is most likely fighting like drowned gods.

To be fair about the Scion of Ethiron compared to other enemies thing, its more just it being a game. If you can give me an exception then go ahead but I'll use GOW and Elden Ring to make sense of this. Kratos can die to regular enemies despite being the strongest so far. Like random Draugr in Give Me God Of War can mess him up. In Elden Ring, you could be killing demigods which is the whole plot and then die to a bleed dog and die instantly which in lore is definitely weaker. Still funny though, that thing you said about the mechs and Scion
Maybe there's some lore version of levels, and most NPCs are hard capped to a certain level, dependent on bloodlines and races n shit, and some have higher level caps like others, the player being one of those characters with a higher innate level cap, that being power 20

Green fire is from Greek Mythology and was know as Greek fire which is fire but burns through anything and can't be put out think amatarsu but on crack and anyone can use it(also its more controllable) I've never seen Green Fire called Hellfire except a boss from a game that was a evil Hades rip off(just cool trivia great video man)

lord regent basically is jst a basement dweller that can only be good at the game (strong) by sitting in the chair, but for some reason the buff doesnt apply to the other etris king (itys not confirmed if it does), they say hes high/low diffed by akira with no chair but with chair he low diffs him so thats basically why he wont leave his chair

I think the gaurds are weaker because lorewise they really only have one life. Like death in depths your done. It really is just like starting the game for the first time for the gaurds where you know practically nothing

How tf did mantras get weaker between verse one and two. Before we had mfs running around nuking everything with flame charm , freezing portions of etreas sea, flying around fast asf abusing gale inhale bugs, and a bunch of other wacky stuff and in the 600 in game years they game has existed we somehow got worse at magic. I want back the comically large era

Have you ever wondered why player characters are even fighting, why should they leave Etris, why are they adventuring to the most dangerous island across the luminants? I don't know, no one knows, there is absolute nothing for us to fight for, our characters don't try to discover who they are, who they were, who they will be. They know Erisor guy, but we don't get anything to do with that information. We are drowned, we are special, we have a DEEPWOKEN talent tree, but still nothing.

Deepwoken has a really good concept, but horrible, horrible execution.
And they still dont seem to notice the large issues, too. The content in-game should really be designed/developed around the lore, but its vice versa.
Every new update really just serves to deal with the newest meta, or PVP issue, meanwhile PVE is tossed aside. At this point, Deepwoken is just becoming an overglorified battlegrounds game.

Your points near the start of the video regarding the fake Ragoozer situation alongside other miscellaneous thoughts are all perfectly valid and definitely fair critiques.
I was ALMOST on board with the statements pertaining to Ysley's Pyre Keeper until you mentioned Lifeweave being rainbow or a slight gold in color. This is false; Lifeweave has always taken a green form, with the Shipwright at the Dock at Greathive Aratel demonstrating his Lifeweaving capabilities with glowing green swirling vine-like growths covering his hand for a brief moment as he speaks of Ship Modifications. Lifeweave also has no ties or parallels to real-life beliefs and interpretations of hell.
Canorians WITHIN The Central Authority would likely never become Contractors. Canorians are not inherently bound by any loyalty upon birth. Canorians also choose whom they are loyal to, meaning they can choose to align with The Kingdom of Etrea if that is their upbringing or if they succumb to the effects of the Lord Regent's Mindveil.
The Lord Regent is implied to obtain the Forge of Sin following the termination of The Duke of Erisia by the player in the questline via the dispatch of Contractors, Ministry Agents, or Royal Guards to retrieve pieces of it every time The Duke is taking time to return from The Depths; though this is not confirmed. The Lord Regent is also not physically bound to his throne (to our knowledge) and can choose to leave at any time. The throne (which is an Artifact from The Depths) amplifies his power tremendously through unknown means.
Murmurs and Mantras are entirely different applications of The Song canonically. Tacet is not independent of The Song, it uses The Song to silence The Song (in the same manner that Thanos is able to use Infinity Stones to destroy them, if that makes sense). Ardour: Scream is not dependent on The Song for this same reason. Murmurs presumably do not require incantations wherein Mantras do, or they are simply taken from different Verses of The Song (wherein Mantras are purely lyrical and Murmurs are purely instrumental in nature).
Again, Shadowcast is NOT illegal, but taboo. The Divers are somewhat immune to this taboo as the glory of actually being a Diver somewhat cancels this out. In the eyes of the general population, The Divers are simply doing what is necessary to survive in some of the harshest conditions known to many within Lumen.
Factions, of course, do not anticipate some random individual to be able to solo their entire army. They do not accommodate for this for this reason. Canonically speaking, there is only one "MC," and that is you. Also, The Hive can genetically create Pomars and some minor mushrooms, and is, in-lore, the frontier Faction in terms of agriculture.. This is observable in Greathive Aratel.

@@Reaconteur The Plasma Cannons alongside the Hive Mech's "Obliterate" move are considered exceptions, as they are created via the transfer of life OUTSIDE of an area. It isn't necessarily what Lifeweave itself looks like typically.
