Brought mine yesterday 3/2/24
In this same colour.
Beautiful guitar, never owned a tele before, plays so easy, the case is incredible.
Couldn't be happier so far
Congratulations, I was torn between this and the Tele 63 II, I think I like the Versatility of this one much more! May get it in the Sea foam green and rosewood FB, not to mention it is 400.00 Less than the 63 Vintage II.
I purchased this Fender American Pro II Telecaster in Black with maple fingerboard in November 2021 just before the Fender $200 price increase. The satin finish on the neck and rolled fingerboard edges make it an absolute pleasure to play. I love the sound of the V-Mod II Telecaster pickups but seldom do I find myself using the push-push tone control to activate series mode in position 2.
Ha! I remember it well, the morning I took out my credit card to buy this tele, was the day they raised the prices 200 on their teles and strats. I said, F this. ha The pisser, the night before I went online had my card out and the site froze up and I was beat and said, f this, I will just order it tomorrow. ha
I prefer simplicity in controls. I get option paralysis these days. My ears and my brain start fighting each other. I will mess with EQ and tone controls all day and end up playing not at all.
I'm loving this series, guys. I hope you do more guitar brands.
Same here bro…. That’s why I’ve been think about getting a fender Esquire or a Gibson Les Paul Junior….. less bs more music!
You’ll appreciate the strat belly cut contour one day. Give it a few more years and a few more beers.
LMFAO 🤣🤣 Yep. 100% true.
True! I have a Squier Affinity Tele HH with the contoured body. Nice little guitar.
Man Danny Gatton never quit 😅
Saving up for a Player Tele right now, tidepool is such a great color.
The blue is just great. I love it with the faintly greenish pickgard. Man, I got GAS
I love my American Tele II. Quickly became my #1 guitar.
I received a pro II tele for a Christmas gift from my wife. Sounds amazing . Love the neck. Buzzes horribly on low E and A. I took it to a very well known guitar tech and he cant figure it out. Sent it back to Sweetwater. They worked on it and sent back to me. Still buzzes horribly. Really never received a replacement offer at all. Stuck with a buzzing guitar. I feel really bad for my wife. She is so disappointed.
still buzzing?
@@reactionsok yep... still buzzing.
What string gauge are you using? Maybe changing the gauge for a thicker set or trying another brand. Also, is the buzzing just hearable coming out of the guitar, or can you hear it coming out of the amp as well? If it doesn't translate in the amp, then you should be fine.
Your a buzz kill
@@abrahamct6 buzzing comes througn the amp big time .
Keep the Gibson... I want the Fender 🇺🇸 professional 2 telecaster Miami Blue.
Awesome 🎸👍‼️ I was looking at a black Mex telecaster for modification and I asked the guy at the store if he had an 🇺🇸 professional 2 telecaster and he bought me the Miami Blue 🎸. As soon I I held it, I knew that this was my 🎸👍‼️
Great review, very detailed! My only request is if youd demo the cleans a little more, but great review nonetheless 🤘
Tele's are my all time favorite. I have a 50s roadworn tele and it's stunning. Made in Mexico and superior to my more expensive guitars. Best thing you can do for a telecaster to make it sound better is buy compensated brass saddles so you can dial in the intonation.
I absolutely love the fretboard on that guitar, and with that color 😍
Such a shame that it's kinda pricey
Never liked the 3 saddles, just my opinion. Love my 6 saddle 2001 American standard, again just my opinion:)
I prefer the three saddles and especially brass. I had an LTD tele with belly and forearm cut and it sits better on the body and not uncomfortable as the straight cut guitars.
Just traded a Les Paul for one of these, its freaking sweet. This ones a forever guitar
Although the routing is cool for modding, I sure love a solid piece of wood with just one bridge bucker routing. It always gives you better tone.
My dream guitar, super video ! Greetings from Hungary !
Sarvos❤
Great video. Any problems with the intonation?
Bought mine on 8th March 2024. Butterscotch left handed from GuitarGuitar in UK. IVE HAD LOCKING TUNERS FITTED.
Great review and playing. How do you guys learn this level of technical playing ability,? Loved this demo. The add-ons made the sound though!
BTW, this is a good sounding tele. Nice demo and playing too, as always. I'm impressed with the neck tone which is usually a weak spot for teles. One thing I'd like are some contours. I've been playing strat for forty years and I just can't live without those contours. I need good ergonomics. Otherwise, good guitar.
I have the Strat of this. It’s nice. Not my favourite Strat but it’s sure a beauty. Actually my favourite Strat is a MIM. At least the pickups are my favourite sounding on the MIM.
do you have a player strat by any chance? i can’t seem to gel with player’s pickups at all but i really like vmod2 for some reason
@@smugbiz I’m not sure I think it’s a Standard the MIM one I like so much. I’ve got AM Pro 2, American Std( maybe my least fave) The MIM (that’s probably my favourite SOUNDING) a Player Plus( that ones pretty good) and there’s another in this house somewhere but I can’t remember what it is right now ha ha.
@@deanmccaskill5495 oooh got it. yeah i really liked the old mim that had ceramic pickups, had a thicker sound than my player's tha has a super brittle sound...
Worth every penny. These are incredible guitars.
F yeah!!! I’ve played every various different telecasters and these are the best!! 3 pos switch just like old school stuff, and I like the push push s1 switch instead of the push button on the other ultras and elite series, just wish they had the noiseless gen 4 pickups but these are really really good, the noiseless would be better on stage but either way this guitar shines especially for the money and color options
Great review on a great guitar guys!
I love the rolled edges thing now. I'm not nuts about the comfort heel, however no tummy cut..Amen.
Tele vs. Strat - Tele for me.
Thanks again for taking the time to review! We'll done
Just picked up a Butterscotch American Pro II. Then I saw this. I agree with everything you said. Tho I don't think I'll ever put a Humbucker in it. I did add Fender locking tuners.
And how do you keep that black knob from flying off?
I have the same Am Pro II Tele Miami blue, It’s my favourite guitar :) I don’t like only one thing - top loaded strings, because spaces between strings become unpredictable and I see no pros at all. I also have not really perfect setup from factory, but it’s fine.
I saw a hole for a ground wire in the body underneath the bridge but could not see any wire. Also I don't think it was mentioned that the saddles are compensated.
Well done demo!
Sounds nothing like a telecaster. I’m glad I watched this before ordering online.
I feel it's probably what he's putting it through
Please do the ultra tele next!!
Other videos I’ve seen of the Pro II have a brighter, more trebly sound. This sounded almost muddy on all combos of the pickups. Not appealing to me but maybe it’s just the sound quality of the video.
I feel like he's got some weird settings on his amp. Or he's got the tone controls dialed down. It does sound muddy and lousy. Same with his demo of the Ultra.
Great review
bonjour, c'est sur c'est une super guitare surtout une gibson telecaster...Whouuuuuuu. j'aimerais bien la gagner! avec un peu de chance.Bonne année quand même
i have this Tele!
That is a beautiful Telecaster guitar! Wow! How do I enter the contest to win a guitar?
Mmmmmmm... thats a nice one... love that color
I’m not really a fender guy. But I’ve always like the tele. What happened to the old Chrome bridge covers. Can you still get?
Yeah, you can get them from Fender. Sweetwater has them as well. I imagine you can also get them from Zzounds and Guitar Center etc.
I got a pro ii Tele dark night, around Christmas, it came with the chrome bridge cover but I haven't worked out how to fit it!
Ha ha no shielding, you have to buy a $ 400 Samic/Squier if you want that,
Telecaster is the best Fender.
Can you do a tele set up video (specifically on a 3 saddle)
Sounds great
I’m a lefty, and recently bought the American Ultra Strat. I compared the the American Pro 2 and liked the D cut neck of the Ultra over the C cut of the Am Pro 2. I want a Tele, but I’m waiting to see if Fender might offer a lefty Ultra Tele 🤞 #Fender #Telecaster
Look at a G&L ASAT, Sweerwater stocks lefty's.
God and Fender hate lefties…..
This is the Tele I want!!!!!!!
Fender American copying a Mexican Baja well there's a thing.
1800.00 now
What's with that dark red Stratocaster with the maple neck? Is it for sale?
reverb.com/item/64451347-fender-american-standard-stratocaster-with-maple-fretboard-1997-candy-apple-red?
Ah! It already sold. Damn it! I am looking for a candy apple red one with the maple neck, by the way. If you come across an American made one, I'm interested.
je la veux
I've become obsessed with the sound of the Telecaster. Not a fan of the Strat even though I've played copies for years and played actual Strats and don't like how they are set up. No thank you..
This or the CV 50’s Tele in Blonde? 👀
I have both. The Pro feels and sounds better but the CV50s is a great guitar if you want to get into telecasters. I will hold on to it and maybe play around with modifications etc in the future.
@@bradolfsen7935 I picked up a CV50s from Sweetwater a few weeks back to try one out. It looked pretty good, and sounded great. However, the nut was crooked, it had a nick in the fretboard, and the pick guard was cracked. So much for that 55 point inspection...I sent it back. If I buy another one, I'd need to see it in person first prior to money changing hands.
@@christopher.hallissy oof! You were unlucky then. Mine had no big issues. I had a luthier adjust the nut and do a full setup and it plays pretty well now. But the AmPro2 gets more love.
I think 2 years ago the price would had been $1200.
Nope
considering american standards where 1399 in 2012
no it would not have been
@@therideneverends1697 though they've been raising the prices. For various reasons.
@@TeeFetch
2019 the first gen cost $1499.00.
I live Teles
Great guitar but too pricey.
If it's more than the MIM version, it's not worth it.
canada 2.825 dollars that incs. tax lotsa money pine baby
Fender messed up this series of telecaster guitars. Those Tim Shaw pickups sound nothing like a Telecaster. No way in hell would I pay $1700 for this guitar that looks like a Telecaster yet doesn't sound like a one. For a few hundred more I bought the vintage II 51 Telecaster and it sounds like a Telecaster should and has all the right appointments. The Vintera Series sounds a lot better than this Professional II series.
The 50s vintera Tele is damn full of character, and that's a neck!
You’ve got brain damage If you think this doesn’t sound like a tele
Brother seriously are you on crack or something?if you think that that disowns like a telecaster then you have never ever heard what one sounds like or you are tone deaf 😢
I disagree. I think it sounds great. The Performer sounds “vintage” if that’s your thing. There’s no right answer. I own the Performer and the Professional II and while they sound different from one another- that doesn’t relate to their individual quality. They’re all excellent. It’s just what you prefer. 😊
Ok boomer
Still using that awful bridge and saddles?
Do you have a website where you sell gear, guitars, amps, or pedals let me know please thanks
I could really use a Les Paul call my mine has had to many fret jobs
