Some big inductors look cool. Appearance matters for a watch. If I build this, I will use a salvaged through hole inductor. This will undoubtedly require changes to other components in the high voltage power supply. I must make compromises to your compact design in the name of fashion.
Or even better, the Micro Crystal RV-3028-C7 - Uses less power, more accurate, what's not to love? Only needs a few lines of the I2C comms adjusted to work.
An interesting project Andrei. I look forward to seeing the second video mentioned. This looks and sounds like it took a tremendous amount of work. Thank you for creating and sharing it with us. Is there a trick to desoldering components like an ATMega328P from a PCB to then reuse in your project? I see you do that a lot. But I've never had a lot of luck desoldering even small components when I tried it when I was much less experienced with soldering. I'm wondering now if you just need to heat up the iron a lot. But I'm still scratching my head a little with a 4-sided IC like the ATMega. Because without being able to lift the IC off when all of the solder joints are liquid...I don't see how to do it.
@@ELECTRONOOBS ah. That makes sense. I have all of those things. I've just never used the hot air gun side of my soldering station. I'll give that a try. Thank you.
Hello, I hope you're doing well. I have a deep passion for electronics and aspire to reach the level of inventing and producing a circuit board. To this end, I've completed Electronics 1 & 2, and Electrical Circuits 1 & 2 in university, but I feel like my knowledge hasn't significantly expanded. I kindly request your guidance on a roadmap or step-by-step process to become a circuit board designer, starting from a beginner level and progressing to an advanced one. Could you please outline the specific skills and knowledge I should acquire in sequential order?
I wonder if PCB way can make some custom Aluminum watch cases? This would be the thing to do. Then glass, and you got a winner here in kit form. This is what I would be working on for the next few months leading into christmas. The thing to set it apart? Rosewood or Bamboo lacquered on the "Dial" face. Tips for your next design: 1. Add wireless charging or some kind 2 Magnetic mount on the band so that it can be displayed. 3. Make it wider instead of round with rectangular with curves should be the aim. 4. A limited edition glass pcb.
A competent cnc machinist should be able to make an aluminum case for it with 1-2 soft jaw ops or a 2 piece case w/ 1 op each. A real shame because I think I could do that part but the electronics is so beyond me
Hi, can you make a video on how to make a high power H bridge brushed motor driver? Using only N channel MOSFET & 2 half bridge gate driver (with bootstrap function), control by only two arduino pwm pin. Thank you!
I like all your projects, I have a request can you make a video on how to control a DC-DC converter module using a microcontroller , Please Please Please. waiting your next video.
Nice video sir i want next video on cheap brushed motor esc if not possible then please share the code to me you just need to grab some of pwm controlled mosfet switch each module comes with a pair of mosfets i wnat you to connect them parallel and connect each module gate commonly to arduino nano and add small features
I’ve always wanted one of these. I think I need to make one! Nice work. I’ve made Nixie tube robot sculptures and nixie “dice” and other stuff. Some Vids of those on my channel :)
The dangerous of having it connected to your PC while managing it with bare hands are very High. Also having it on your pulse managing it with the other hand. You don't know what you are dealing with.
Because brushed motors are super cheap we can make custom esc in order to control them with transmitter well i have built 13ch transmitter and reciver with the help of your video using nrf24l01 module and arduino nano etc now i wanted to build a brushed motor esc please sir reply and help me also i am from INDIA❤
This is not a watch, but just a board with lamps. If you make a finished commercial product out of this, its price will not be $50, but the same as what is sold, around $500.
It's a DiY channel, not a "we're making a rolex company" channel. Lots of us have looked at NIXIE tube projects, but didn't proceed because of the price.

To get more space for the big coil you could use the DS3231M, It is a SOIC8 version. Overall that's a nice project

Sir, what the fuck is this masterpiece
A one big watch which cant be used
@@kavinprakash7868 flip it and use it as a tazer.
This is an obscene anachronism.
Amazing work!! Clever cost-saving technique of salvaging parts from cheap modules.
Bro your videos are amazing, you should have more views
I love it!! Make it with 4 smaller tubes pls.
Amazing watch!!
Really looking forward to this getting smaller and having a case. Perhaps you can make it waterproof? Nice video!
Excellent job and impressive work. Great video!
Love from India ❤ granny video please😂
Granny video?
Love it what a great project. Did you use solder paste for the IMU chip?
that watch is looking very cool
Awesome projects ❤❤

@JonathanDeWitt1988 you need a hot air gun, flux and some tweezers and then the job is easy!

Ive been learning lots about nixie tubes, and i love them, when will the files be available on the site?
Looks awesome
nice work!!
Thats epic! 🎉
very cool project
Can we replace rtc battery with rechargeable one, means can we use only one battery for controller and rtc?
When this is finalized, you should sell kits and assembled watches.
Try making this with a vacuum fluorescent display, those don't require high voltage.

I always wanted to have a nixie clock but the price of the tubes is too much for my cheap ***. A watch for under 50 is something I can enjoy for Xmas!
Sir please make a watch that have retro games
Btw nice video 👍
esta super coooooooooool, se puede cambiar el capacitor electrolitico por otro con un diferente empaquetado?, para que se vea mas cool aun!!
