I started off this year by watching 2023 movies that came out in cinemas in 2024 where I live like “The Boy and the Heron”, “Poor Things” and “The Holdovers” which were all excellent and Anyone But You which was surprisingly pretty good. Then I was able to get to 2024 movies, although I haven’t seen that many. Here are my top picks (in no particular order)… Dune Part 2 Challengers Abigail Ordinary Angels The End We Start From The Fall Guy Lisa Frankenstein Clearly I haven’t seen some of the “best of the year so far” yet but I will soon.
@@vetzmovieshonestly I felt fine part two took to long to make points and then there was the constant landscape shots of the sun or the guy getting eaten by ants( that was unnecessary) but I can say that dune part two was more good than bad but I still found it unappealing.

U r aware that Skar King is implied to be a rapist right? Plus at least GXK was kinda interesting and had protagonists and an antagonist, Fall Guy doesn’t have any of that! Plus its name sounds like the game of the same name!
@@arcticwolfplays5519 Fall Guy was wayyyyyyy better imo. GxK was so mid and felt like one of those "im so deep and well written and a large blockbuster" when it's so flat and mid. Fall Guy was a cool comedy with Ryan Gosling's charisma. It wasn't the greatest thing of all time but way better than GxK.
Nah Fall Guy was mid and completely mid and uninteresting with none antagonists to drive the plot! Seriously look at some videos analysing GXK because they are genuinely interesting! Look we have different opinions, let’s just agree to disagree and not say anything more!
They definitely can be better as they often have a lot more personal meaning put into them. But that’s because most of the Indy films we see are the ones that are good and get popular.
I really loved/hated Aaron Taylor as Tom Rider in THE FALL GUY. He was a complete asshole everytime he showed up on screen. Winston Duke's was very interesting and funny, and i wanna see him in more projects.

Skar King has committed: Slavery A great Titan war that resulted in thousands if not millions dying Rape Manipulation Abusing Shimo for his own power Almost destroyed the entire city of Rio De Janeiro Attempted to conquer the surface world Murder And in the novelization it even was stated that he stole the wives of his slaves and built his own harem which resulted in multiple mini kongs being born (yes even Suko was born from this) and your just calling him a "walking meme"? Also when you think this movie is "stupid" then check out the Showa era of Godzilla films because they're even more ridiculous than this one
Yo Vetz, I hate to say this but, The Garfield Movie made over $100M against a $60M budget. So, your hopes of this failing are unfortunately broken. Sorry.
@@vetzmovies Also, I saw a Cartoon Base post about this. Saying people went to watch Garfield over Furiousa. At the end, it said "A Big Win for Animation". No, it isn’t. It is a family movie. Isn't Furiousa rated R? That's not a win for Animation. Those people who are watching it are likely families.
Dune part 2 is by far the best movie of the year 100% agree. I saw most of the movies on your list, the only one I saw that you didn't have that I think should be on their is The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. I wouldn't rank it at the top of your list probably place it lower middle like 6 or 7.
Yeah, Challengers is definitely not for me! I’ve never been a fan of a movie with no likable character or a character I can root for, and all the characters in Challengers are awful humans
Amazing how horrible movies are this year. If they held onto a few movies feom last year to release this year, maybe some of those movies would have done a little better
Aint no way people are calling Godzilla x kong a cinematic masterpiece 💀💀💀 I wouldn’t even say it’s so bad it’s good, I just found it exhaustingly terrible
My ranking of the ones I have watched: - A lot might disagree 4) Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire - 6.5/10 I honestly had high hopes for this movie after Godzilla vs Kong which improved on several weak points of the MonsterVerse. GvK had a strong narrative thrust and was very well paced. But then GxK we have an underwhelming narrative and the movie had rushed vibes in the first half. As if it was in a hurry to get to the Hollow Earth. Fortunately after that things were well paced. I also disliked how Godzilla and Kong just kill off monsters like Scylla, Wart Dogs, Tiamat and Drownviper. They were so cool. Then I honestly found the humans annoying. Dr. Andrews was cool in GvK but not in this one. But I did like Bernie and his chemistry with Trapper. I would be lying if I do not say Skar King was a great villain. Shimo and Suko were great characters and I did like Kong's arc but that could have been bettered. So these pros saved it from being a bad movie. 3) Kingdom of Planet of Apes - 7.5/10 I was highly disappointed with this movie. The narrative was underwhelming and the pacing was terrible. There was no clear direction of the plot. I honestly feel the storytelling department is a MESS !! But still the movie had likeable and compelling characters like Noa, Rakka and Mae. The action scenes were phenomenal. Proximus was really disappointing. I strongly disagree with "Best villain perfomances in recent years". He only gets a cool villain intro and a charismatic personality. The movie does not use its runtime to develop his character or portray him as a technological genius and that his intelligence is a threat. 2) Kung Fu Panda 4 - 8.8/10 One of the most underrated movies of all time. Stylized action, genuinely good humor and great themes about embracing Change. Zhen was also cool and Chameleon is a great and underrated villain. My major problems were that the OG villains could have been used for more scenes and that the movie could have been well paced with a larger runtime. 1) Inside Out 2 - 9.5/10 This movie is a mastepiece. Stunning animation, all new emotions are great and the old ones too. The themes and character development are very poignant. Great win for Pixar.
