I honestly don’t love UFD on my super coarse and dense loose curls, mainly bc it takes forever to dry on me and doesn’t give me quite enough volume. Mousse def tho 👁️👁️ I’ve been pairing her on top of the new doux 808 base gel and girl! You’ve gotta try it. The slip when together?? Insaaaaane. I get beautiful clumping and definition, yet it’s not like, stuck to my head if that makes sense.
I decided to give my Curly Magic a break, and try Miche Beauty products for a month (all products purchased on sale, they pricey). I used Miche's Lavish leave- in conditioner as my base. Paired it with their styling mousse for 1st combo, and their Tropical Oasis hair gel for the 2nd combo. Mousse wash and go lasted 3 days before I had to put in a puff. It was nice, fluffy, and defined. The gel wash and go was great w/a firm hold. It lasted 7 days. Miche products are solid, great ingredients, and I love that it's black owned. After a month of use...I noticed my hair was noticably drier. In conclusion, nothing can out perform UFD curly magic. I've been using it for nearly 6 years, and it holds water, moisture in my hair like no other. If you have a tight-coily hair texture, and prefer to wear wash and gos...for me, Curly Magic is the way to go for your base. So true that it's really good for a one & done wash and go!
I’m going to try the Lavish/ Tropical gel combo. Hopefully it won’t dry out before 4 days when I plan to cowash. Thanks for sharing your experience with it.
I love Miche but never used it consistently. I haven’t tried the tropical oasis gel just yet. Thanks for heads up! Nothing seems to best out Curly Magic 😆

I love the 808 base gel so far! It’s nice to have something similar to Curly Magic without the dry time. 😆
