Yes the screen causes this fault a LOT I worked on this model for almost 2yrs, apple 6yrs. That left cable is Ambient Light Sensor. Right cable is video, either cable can cause this looping. So many of my impatient coworkers have replaced the logic board for this type of "boot looping" for no reason but on this air model its almost always the battery, screen, or lid angle sensor cable on the right side that causes the boot looping! Hilarious. They lucky you got this cause this woulda been a easy $1,000+ repair we woulda replaced the screen and motherboard for the liquid lol
The corrosion on the left of the connector shouldn't really be an issue as the pins are GND and NC. The corrosion on the right is a probable short to GND on I2C_ALS_1V8_SCL. I2C_ALS_1V8_SCL = the I2C clock line for the ALS sensor.
@@dfear hmm, interesting, at my specific company were never taught in depth schematics details like that because 9 times out of 10 Apple forces us to just change the parts due to warranty/apple care & send the old parts off to China to actually get resoldered. I just learned on my own how not to change the wrong parts haha these sensors are no joke on MacBook air/Pro
Hello old friend, found your video online by accident and could not believe it was really you :) You got older but so did I...do you still ride? Hope you see this... Best Regards Andy ATF !
you don't normally use compressed air or and electric version to blow out the connectors or garbage off the board.. I would think that is better than just heating the alcohol or water to dry it as it would get the debris out of the connector or off the board.
I'm sure you've already thought of it, but a little electric toothbrush for doing the cleaning might be beneficial, the oscillating head might do a better job :)
I know your pain sorin about taking these new macbooks apart , i worked on an m2 for the first time a few months ago , when you take the cover plate off the motherboard the entire thing is actually a heat sink and apple recommends you replace it after removing it!! The only good thing about the board is that all components are on one side of the board, nothing is on the bottom. Its almost as if apple is working overtime to make it harder for us to repair.
Whatever company sent this out to you should be taking pictures of previous states and saving them in case of warranty claims. That way they could have forwarded the pictures to you so you can see the previous state of the board before their fix. Sorin doesn't have to do this because his pictures are literally his youtube videos. Seems like common sense to me.
but water damage should always be no warranty. you can never tell you can only hope.. and they need to remove their data right away and consider the computer unreliable even if it works
Sorin, you need a better brush. The bristles on your toothbrush are hard but too thick. You need a brush with both hard and thin bristles. There are small paintbrushes that come as a gift with small paint or varnish sets. If you cut their bristles in half, you can get exactly the brush you need.
I hope you got paid at least 4 pizzas for this ez pizza job, because you got it easy but this could have been an hour of intense job and you saved a lot of money to the local repair store.
Starting from scratch now is difficult because nobody uses laptops anymore. It's all mobile phone. And even then mobile phones are so cheap not worth repairing phones too. Save yourself the headaches. Sorin has a long history to support his business and lots of good will customers already. You can't buy what he has .

Hi Sorin, I've noticed that you're using a toothbrush for most of your liquid-damaged motherboard cleanings. While it works, it tends to take longer and doesn't always give the best results. As you know, the right tools can really make a difference-saving time and ensuring the job is done properly. Best regards, Gosh

Thank you
Glad to see that apple is doing a great job in decreasing fixability of their products. You open the case an face a huge black plastic cover.
Infuriating
It's only a cover FFS.
Crapple Twatbook.
who cares, by the time your mac breaks itself the warranty will be gone, so a huge plastic cover will be no issue
It's working!!!

Was wondering after cleaning those connectors if a drop of Deoxit would be worth while adding?
Are you kidding? That would add £40 to the cost of the repair! :))

Best charge $1 less than Apple repairs to teach vapid consumers the lesson they need - to hold Apple accountable for contemptible design.

Putting layers of covers and covers still cannot prevent liquid damage. Apple sucks!
Not really different than any other laptop if the user is too careless to keep liquids away from electronics.
Thank you
