This presents both of their stories so well and I absolutely love how at the end you made Hailey and Jay's voices overlap because it shows how "they're good and they will always be good." With nothing ever lasting for too long in PD, it makes me kind of scared for their future but I think considering how far they have gotten, they're endgame.
Totally agree! I don’t think I’ll ever NOT be scared for them, but for now this is as stable as they can be
Hailey is more mature! Erin never really knew what she wanted.

Jay's love with hailey is intense unlike with Erin.you can tell that they both feel deeply for each other and would go to deep ends for their love.with Erin it felt like Jay was the one who cared more,supporting Erin all the time While she was too self absorbed.Jay deserves all this love he is getting..they both do..I love them 🥰

I'm happy. Overjoyed. Jay got his happy ending with Haley. His story would of ended differently if Sophia had stayed.
Upstead is so much better than Linstead ever was. Linstead was about lust. Upstead is about trust, mutual support and companionship. Hailey has been supportive of Jay in ways that Erin never was.
It's the other way around for me. Linstead was about trust, mutual support, and companionship while Upstead is more about lust. Jay with Hailey is more just being there for each other physically not really emotionally. Hailey can't even be fully open to Jay and now they get married in a desperate way not in a romantic way.
@@maxi530- not sure why you come to that conclusion. Jay told Erin he didn't like her driving all the time, what was her response "I've been in the unit longer, I'm driving," which was a childish response and was completely disrespectful and dismissive of Jay. Hailey would not have responded in that way. Jay tried to support Erin, you can't say the same about Erin. Hailey was the one who saw that he was suffering from PTSD from his military service and pushed him to get help. Erin never noticed this. In fact, Will told Erin that Jay was a mess coming back from Afghanistan, did Erin try to talk to him about it, no she didn't. "The thing that works" is Jay and Hailey talking through each other's problems and supporting each other. Season 3, Episode 17 ended with Jay alone and in tears over the death of a former soldier he felt responsible for. If he had been dating Hailey at that time instead of Erin, the episode ends with Hailey supporting Jay and helping him through it. Hailey didn't tell Jay about Roy because Hank told her not to and to protect Jay. It was a mistake on her part and I don't see her making a mistake like that again. Hailey has her flaws, but being selfish and self centered are not amoung them. Can't say the same about Erin, who couldn't do the right thing and tell Jay that she was leaving for New York, she ghosted him. That tells you just how much she cared about him. Hank was right when he initially told Erin he didn't want her to date Jay, he said "I'm not protecting you, I'm protecting him. I've seen all the men whose heart's you've broken."- Hank was right about that.

Yup, also Hailey saw things Erin did not even pay attention to. She saw his PTSD, his struggle with his past and was first one to suggest therapy and literally made him talk to the therapist when he just didn't care. Also, she had his back so many times, even lied to Voight couple of times for his sake. Hailey understands Jay, that's the most important thing. And it helped that they were partners and friends first, confiding and trusting each other, especially in life/death situations. That's the reason they are solid as a pair now. Jay got to know Hailey really well during 5 years, which is why in Roy situation, he did not even hesitate when she needed his help and his understanding. Erin, somehow ignored him, don't really know why, like she loved him, but did not know him well or did not want to know him, we will never know, but she never took interest in his mental/spiritual state, his past or his struggles. Hailey knew about his struggles from the very first episodes together, because she paid attention and effort to help him. That's it.
I know Sophia wanted to leave. But I don't think I'll ever forgive the writers for having her just leave take her stuff and not say a word to Jay.
In defense of the writers, while Sofia Bush told them she wanted to leave in the summer before filming began, they had already written several episodes for Season 4. They had to start the season with what they had. If reports are to be believed, they tried to talk her into staying and she refused. They handled her exit from the series very well, but fumbled Erin and Jay's breakup.
@@richardvapnar6669 which I understand. But they could have done literally anything besides she takes all her stuff and doesn't say a word. Hell they could have had her leave a letter and it would have been better than that.
@@samsummers2388 - they wanted Erin's departure to hurt Jay. They used this to create the Camilla storyline and to explore his PTSD from Afghanistan that he had been carrying. That is why they did it this way. They wanted him hurt and did not want to put him together with Upton or anyone else or start a long term relationship in Season 5. That part makes sense. "Jay's secret marriage" and the fight (if you can call it that) where they split, made no sense.
@@richardvapnar6669 I agree with everything except for why Jay left Erin, it wasn't because he was still married and didn't tell Erin etc., he left because Abby's appearance sturred up war memories and his PTSD and Jay didn't trust Erin enough, wasn't ready and was scared to share this part of him with her. And as for her leaving without saying goodbye it's kinda in her character, she was always selfish and she just left like that because it was easier for her she didn't think about Jay and his feelings...she kinda never did, she was too self-centered.
@@za4arovashka - I agree with a lot of what you have said. Let me clarify my previous comment. Jay's marriage caused the fight between Jay and Erin and you're correct that it stirred up emotions in Jay that we see in season 5. Of course, this is subject to a lot of interpretation because the writers really did not handle this well. It was rather abrupt and the build up to it was underwhelming.

idk if anyone has realized this but it looks like they use the same apartment for hailey’s apartment in season 8 and the last apartment that Erin had in chicago pd

I thought so too at first but Hailey's apartment was different, look closer and more thoroughly, they just similar. Hailey's apartment was used as Antonio's apartment before, not Erin's.
I always thought champagne trouble was written for Jay, Erin and Hailey.
