You are 100% correct. SAFETY is the foremost, paramount concern while racing. I'm so happy you're strong and healthy to race another day!
God bless ya, at least you came away with minimal damage to yourself. Good luck in rebuilding your Boss.
You can always replace a car but never ones health! Glad you’re ok bro and stay positive. Everything thing happens for a reason
Thank you for the kind words 🙏
Glad to see you're ok!! This car is by far my most favorite track car on youtube. Sad to see it go but also can't wait to see the next video series on a new car build! Good luck
Thank you. We started today and I will be filming as we go.
Sorry Dude, I got a 2013 Black Laguna Seca Boss 302, 15k Miles. Haven't taken it to the track yet, but will learn from your experience. Hope you find or build your replacement soon, enjoy your videos - great job!
Thank You Fausto! Appreciate the support. Hopefully I will have something to share soon.
Man dude count your blessings because you are lucky. I’m glad physically you ok but I know emotionally it hurts to see your pride and joy wrecked. It’s only one way to go from here and it’s to be greater then before.
Thank you 🙏 much appreciated
Sorry for your loss Sean but like you said, walking away uninjured is the main thing to think about. A friend of my son had a 2014 Mustang GT that he would take to the track and had a similar thing happen but not quite as bad as your experience. He fixed the car got out of the racing mind set and is now driving one of the new Rangers.
George
Glad you're ok man! I hate to see a Boss in bad shape but you have an excellent point. The driver is top priority. Your Boss build has been very influential to mine and i look forward to your next vid
Glad you’re okay man. So sad to see the car go, but glad the heart of it is still intact
This is horrible to see! From one Boss owner to another.....I feel your pain. Build her better and stronger and all will be forgiven. The Boss has spoken.
Glad you are safe. Look forward to the new project.
Was the traction control off when you crashed the Boss?
Hi Brian. Technically yes. I was running the Boss 302s ABS Module. This is required when running such an aggressive tire size and compound on the front. It disabled the stability control and traction control. Leans back the abs threshold as well. Without this module the stability control will go crazy and enter a limp mode if pushed too hard on the track. Even a quick lane change on the street will cause it to kick in with the tires I have on the front.
Your positive attitude is awesome man. Good luck to you
Thank you so much! Really appreciate that.
Sean McGuigan you bet. Subd 👍🏻
That sucks! Hate to see you wrecked ur car, but ur okay thank God, you can always replace the car. And it sucks to see another Boss is gone. Well good luck too you.🇺🇸
So.... do you wear gloves all the time? That's cartoon villan style 😎
Damn. Mission Raceway strikes again. Glad you’re OK.
Ya... not much room for error unfortunately
Usually The airbag in the steering wheel hits and damages the horn button setting it off. And for the motor shutting off that’s the Inertia switch to shut the fuel pump off just reset the switch and it should run. If I remember right it’s in the driver left kick panel. There will be a little cut out reach in there and push the button.
Good point. Thanks for the suggestions.
Sean McGuigan I’m glad you walked away. But now you have a pretty awesome story how you wrecked your car driving like a bada**!
Sean. Sorry about your car.
I'm glad you're ok. Did you have track day insurance for your event? I'm not sure if that is available in Canada. I've been following your build from the beginning and will follow your rebuild. Be safe!
Thanks Delmon. No track day insurance. Lots of debate on that. I might make a video on that topic. 🤔
Man that sucks. Glad you're ok though. Like you said. You can always rebuild the car. Can't rebuild yourself.
That's very unfortunate crash. At this point taking all the working parts and put to another body/car is the best option. This body is pretty much done. If you don't care about Boss VIN, you can buy a regular GT and swap parts into it including engine. Hope you're not gonna give up on S197 platform. Best wishes. PS show us full track video.
updates?
Glad your ok
aside from the body, all the powertrain and interior parts look okay, you should buy a cheap v6 mustang and transfer everything over to that car, could be a built series
Hey David. Hit the nail on the head. That’s the plan so far.
So Sorry for you .......
Thank you. Much appreciated
No nooooo.
Totaled
Noooooooooooo!
Glad you're alright, and I know this has to be disappointing, man. I'm sorry it all happened but you will move forward.
Thank you Doug.
@@SeanMcGuigan Definitely, bud! If I could wave a magic wand, when you opened up your garage in the morning there would be a brand new GT350 to replace the Boss! Pains us all to see it like that...
Hey Sean, I discovered your channel because of this accident. I was at that event. It was my veery first track day ever. I remember seeing your car post crash as it was being lifted away from the track. It happened during my pre track meeting. It was a humbling experience seeing this incident right before my track time. It put everything in perspective and the seriousness of this hobby. I had a successful track day. Glad you are safe. Honestly been waiting for this video since. Thanks for making this video!
Thanks for sharing. I felt so bad for all of the first timers there that day. I am glad you had a successful day. I am so passionate about this sport and even though I made a mistake that day the most important thing is to be prepared. Invest in the safety gear and enjoy the sport. I will be back and if you see me at a local event please feel free to come say hi. Thanks for the support 🙏
Gt350 time
Thank you for posting, especially this...
Im building my GT extensively. SO Far..
My build looks like this: ●Cobra Jet intake Manifold ●VMP twin 67 TB ●PMAS cold air ●Lu47 injectors tuned on E-85, E-54, and 91 ●BBK Long tube headers ●BBK offroad Xpipe (no Catts) on this car ●Corsa Xtream Axle Back ● Extreme Stop cross drilled and slotted rotors ●Extreme Stop carbon graphite pads ●Russle steel braded brake lines ●Ford Motorcraft dot 5.1 brake fluid ●JLT catch can ●Barton hybrid 3 shifter- trans mounted ●Ford Racing aluminum 1 piece driveshaft ●JMS fuel pump voltage booster only 5volts over stock settings ●AMP Stage - 3 BUILT MT82 transmission ●Ford Racing roller pilot bearing ●(All MacLeod) ○Street extream clutch-26 Spline, ○race spec flywheel, ○hydraulic throw out bearing, ○steel braded clutch line. Im running a Steeda lowering suspension for street, BMR upper control arm/ spherical ●Moroso over flow tank relocated ●Ford Racing tower strut bar ●2012 Block being built by Brett @Racer's Edge in Tuscon AZ ●BOSS 302 Crank ●43 40 Manley H-Beam Rods ●Mahle cobra jet pistons ●BOSS 302 (R) heads ●Comp stage 3 cams ●Ford Racing Timing Components ●MMR Oil Pump gear ●All Balanced and Blueprinted
Projected rear wheel HP between 540 and 580 on E-85. Where I'm going with this, is that Ive got 17 into buying the car, 12 into all my current upgrades, and so far 8Gs into the motor alone, still need another 3500 to finish it...
I have not done the suspension yet...
Wanted to know what you thought of Maximum Motorsports complete front end with KW coil overs, partnered up with Cortex wattslink and long torsional bar in the back.... second of all, I was building this car to track race, would you still recommend the sport having now gone through all this. Please be honest. Thanks
Dude I’m heart broken! I just finished moving to Kamloops and hopped on to UA-cam to see this. This sucks man! I watch your car as a bad influence for my Stang 😞 if you want I’ll sell you my mustang and you can swap all the goodies into it. It sucks to see it this way I wish I could help out more. All the best of luck and please keep us updated
Thanks Andrew. So far the plan is to find a 10-14 v6 car and swap everything 11-12 being my first choice
Tough break! That stuff happens unfortunately at almost every track day. Glad you are ok. Before you strip it you may investigate the possibility of selling it as is and starting over, as you will be starting over anyway. Best of luck either way.
The best drivers crash their cars.
Fords have an inertia switch for the fuel pump. During a big impact, the switch will trip and wont allow power to the fuel pump. So just something to be sure to check out when its time to re fire the car if it isnt starting.
Thanks Dominic much appreciated
Sean McGuigan No problem, i commented before i finished the video so i didnt hear you say you were pulling the drivetrain so it probably wont matter now, but it never hurts to know. Glad you’re ok. That saftey gear pays off
Happy to hear you’re safe!! just got done with a 1/2 mile event today actually. Safety is definitely going to be stepped up for next year and going faster! Looking forward to seeing what you end up doing.
Hello Sean just seen your video, sorry to see the car in this shape. You seem a sensible bloke and I enjoy your videos. I am an ARDS(Association of racing drivers schools) instructor from the UK. You have spent a lot of money on your car, have you spent much money on training yourself? This is not a criticism it's just an enquiry.
Yes, I completed my SCCA drivers training course on the same track the accident took place on. I maintain my SCCA membership. I have and will continue to invest in my personal development. Accidents happen and like anyone with a desire to improve, we accept them, learn from them and move forward.
Good for you, you never stop learning. Invest in yourself, continually, you will reap the benefits.
Looks just like my 12 boss in yellow 😢 back in December. I’m still torn up about it. But looked exactly the same. Whole right side. Was wondering if you can post the vid of the crash tho.
I have a question as to how you crashed. Seems your set up was bullet proof. I'm wanting to get back into autocross and track racing. But am sceptical as to what suspension setup I want. Any advice and insight is appreciated
That is too bad putting a concrete wall up to hit if a guy wanting to have a bit of fun with the car he built gets it a bit wrong instead of a run off area. I bet I know the track you were on. Would never go there.
This year mustang is my favorite i wanted one this year 13-14
Sorry for you man, honestly I’m only commenting. I Can’t even watch the video 😳
Glad you're ok, everything can be fixed or replaced but people! I loved watching the car become what she was and looking forward to more. I have a 2013 Boss 302 (white) I have done a lot and love taking it on track. I am also a police officer and see plenty of wrecks on the streets and many of them aren't as good for the people. There is no guarantee you won't wreck on the track or the street...all we can do is enjoy our cars as they were meant to be driven! Having all the safety features is so important!!!! Good luck to you and your rebuild, I am sure she will purr again soon!
Thank you 🙏
Man Sean not sure why I haven't been getting your notifications. but i'm really glad you're Alright! Sorry to hear about your Boss
Thank you. Much appreciated
I experienced an identical hit in my S550 into a retaining wall on the passenger side. Damn near the identical damage to the car. The side to side G force was insane. I was lucky enough to walk away with only some fractured ribs. Never put a price on safety. Glad to see you were ok.
Thanks Robert. Sorry to hear as well about your accident as well.
that awesome Boss is car is toast...............
Good for u.
On the down side - you crashed! On the up side we get to watch you rebuild!! Cant wait!!
Thank you. We are starting the tear down today and I will be filming as we go.
😭😭😭
Transfer motor ect to a 2013 GT, body build on the 302 is going to cost you a fortune
Donor car is going to be a 11-14 v6 car.
@@SeanMcGuigan That would cool to see what you can do with the 3.7, someone did a Roush build on one and it was a canyon carver.... good tire review....
Sorry about your car. I hate to see someone's project car that you have spent hours preparing get damaged. I have the exact same car with 6000 klms on it. Love the car, but it is time for me to get a new car.
:(
I am glad you are safe. Safety is so important on the track. If you ever want to sell the body as is, I would be interest. Keep on with that positive attidude.
Sorry to here. Good luck with the tear down process. I look forward to the content on the rebuild.
I have a yellow 2013 BOSS with only 17K if you are looking for one.. glad you are good.
I don’t know of any “normal” insurance policies that cover racing or track use, that sucks all that money having to come out of your pocket.
Sorry brother. I’m glad you’re ok. Look forward to seeing your next build materialize. I always enjoy your videos.
Good that you walked out of this safe. And sorry for the Boss. Good luck with the build, we are here to support 🤙
Sorry to hear about this, glad that you are OK. Cars are dead things..
Glad you're ok. I see so many people at the track with faster cars who scrimp on the safety items. Experience doesn't keep wrecks from happening. Sad to see a Boss go to the scrap yard, but at least it was being used. I'll be watching the rebuild for sure.
Thanks Andrew. 🙏
A good body man can turn that back into a full out race car i bet
I just started watching your videos and was curious about your most recent video.. I wish I hadn't seen this cause I've been drooling over your build for the past few weeks! Much love, glad you're okay
Thank you Hayden much appreciated 🙏
Hey Sean, as one of the guys there that track day, I'm glad you are alright. So grateful you had all the safety gear. And happy to hear you'll be back out! That was one hell of a hit. Look forward to seeing you out soon.
Thanks Richard! As someone who saw the crash I appreciate your comments. I can’t wait to be back on track with you guys. I’m sure I will still come and see everyone and hang out even before I finish the car.
Super sorry for you bud. I really hope you rebuild the car.
Might be a good time to think about a widebody glad you're okay I've owned 5 mustangs and four of them wound up worse than your car.
Wow, sounds like you need to have your license revoked and start Ubering places.
Glad your ok but as hard as that was to watch for me, I know it was even harder for you to make the video. Best wishes on getting everything transferred to the new car!
Thank you 🙏
Glad you’re ok. Sorry to see your car damaged. Love Boss 302s.
Sean, will you be parting out the Boss?
Noooooo! Im glad youre ok, thats the important thing but that Boss was a dream build for me! Excited to see what comes next, but definitely sad to see her go. Part of the sport i suppose
Thank you. Knowing that most of the stuff will live on in another car with me makes it a lot easier. Thanks for watching
Sean McGuigan of course! Thats the main thing i hope for, if god forbid i ever wreck my car, on or off track, is that i can put the parts into another car. Hop eyou get better soon!
تستاهل السلامه اخوي 💔 🇴🇲
Sorry bro
So sorry for you Sean. Glad you are OK.
Glad you aren't hurt!
Saw your post on the Boss FB group. Glad your alright man.
Thank you 🙏
sorry to hear man :(
Thanks Shaun
Mustangs usually don't corner for shit unless you set them up too
You are a moron.....you can see that was set up for the track !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@davidmartinelli6582I think this" give a hoot" guy totally missed that part we're talking about a BOSS mustang here.. IT'S A TRACK CAR..🤕🤕
Sorry to see this brother! Glad your ok!
Thanks much appreciated
You may have mentioned this but did you have track insurance or is it all on you?
No track day insurance. It’s all on me to do the rebuild.
@@SeanMcGuigan That sucks but I'm glad you plan to get back on track. If you get knocked down, you got to get back up.
That’s exactly it!
I won’t drive on track without insurance
😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Damn man, at least you're ok though
Thank you. Yes that’s the most important thing to take away.
@@SeanMcGuigan good luck with everything bro
😱😭😭
Swap the engine into a newedge, you can get one for really cheap and you already have the control modules, wiring, etc
Very interesting idea🤔 tempting but I have a lot more that is specific to the S197 that survived as well. All of suspension, Brakes, wheels and so on. I miss my New Edge Saleen though. Will get another one of those one day.
First
Congratulations
02powertube thanks
